Archaeological Museum of Chios
The Archaeological Museum of Chios is a museum located on Michalon Street in Chios town, Chios, Greece. It was constructed in 1966-1971 and covers a total area of 2500 square metres. 1200 square metres of floor space is occupied by the exhibitions.
The museum underwent renovation in 1998 and reopened in November 1999 and features a collection of antiquities from the Neolithic Era up to the Roman times excavated at the ancient sites of Emporio, Fana, Dotia, Aghio Galas and at Chios town.Many of the artifacts unearthed at the sites were dug by the British School of Archaeology.
The periodical exhibition is housed on the third floor and is named “Psara in Antiquity”. It contains artifacts such as vases, gold jewelry, terracotta figurines and funeral gift items. The Psara collection was found at the Mycenaean Necropolis of Archontiki on Psara Island.Of major note is a prehistoric vase found in Emporio, dated back to the 14th century B.C., geometric amphoras found in the town of Chios, dated to the 8th century B.C. and golden leaves unearthed in a grave at the town of Chios, dated back to the Hellenistic period.

There are many types of museums, including art museums, natural history museums, science museums, war museums and children's museums.

Archaeological Museum (Milan)
The Archaeological Museum of Milan (Civico Museo Archeologico di Milano in Italian) is located in the ex-convent of the Monastero Maggiore, alongside the ancient church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, with entrance on Corso Magenta.
The first part of the museum, sited in the original site of Corso Magenta, is dedicated to the history of Mediolanum (ancient Milan) founded in the 4th century BC and conquered by the ancient Romans in 222 BC. In the basement floor there is also a small section about Gandhara's arts. The inner cloister, where Roman remains (1st-3rd century AD) and two medieval towers are visible, connects the first part of the museum with the new building sited in via Nirone. In this part of the Archaeological Museum of Milan are sited, on four floors, the Early Middle Ages section, the Etruscan section, the Ancient Greek section and the temporary exhibition room.
In the Middle Ages polygonal tower sited in the inner cloister are exposed a Domenico Paladino sculpture donated by the artist to the museum that fits in the frescoed medieval structure.

Sau ngày 30 tháng Tư năm 1975, cựu Thiếu úy Phạm Đức Nhì trình diện và bị đưa vào phân trại E, trại tập trung “cải tạo” A20. Ông là người đã khởi xướng cho anh em trong tù hát bài Việt Nam Quê Hương Ngạo Nghễ của cố nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Đức Quang trước mặt các cán bộ. Rồi ông bị vào xà lim vì liên quan đến vụ một người tù đánh trật tự. Trước khi đưa hai chân vào cùm tên trực trại bắt ông cởi hết quần áo chỉ để lại một bộ đồ tù mỏng dính. Rồi mỗi bữa ăn với 2 muỗng cơm, 2 muỗng nước cho đến khi được thả sau 59 ngày, ông không còn đứng được mà phải bò ra khỏi xà lim…
Dù trong tình trạng sức khỏe suy yếu, trong ngày Tết Nguyên Đán 1982, anh và một số bạn tù đã tổ chức buổi văn nghệ Những Tiếng Hát Bừng Sáng A20 để biểu dương tinh thần bất khuất và ý chí can đảm của họ. Rồi những bài thơ được đọc lên để tưởng niệm những bạn tù vượt ngục nhưng tử nạn. Những bản nhạc tự sáng tác trong tù đã lần lượt được lén lút hát, và khán giả là những bạn tù âm thầm tham dự, thưởng thức trong lòng và không một tiếng vỗ tay, qua mặt những tên giám thị nổi tiếng ác độc trong trại tù này.
Trong trại tù, tờ báo Hợp Đoàn số 6 bại lộ và anh chưa kịp nhai nuốt và số phận của anh ra sao? Kính mời quý vị theo dõi phim tài liệu của Ông Phạm Đức Nhì và những bài thơ do ông sáng tác và được loan truyền rộng rãi ở A20.
Lịch Sử Qua Chuyện Kể là một trong những dự án của Viện Bảo Tàng Di Sản Người Việt để lưu lại những câu chuyện trong ký ức, trực tiếp qua lời thuật chuyện của những người đã từng tham gia hay là nhân chứng trong các sự kiện lịch sử cận đại. Dự án này là một công trình nghiên cứu mục đích sưu tầm, lưu trữ và giải thích lịch sử người Việt tỵ nạn.
Những người Việt tỵ nạn sống sót cần có cơ hội trực tiếp chia sẻ cụ thể đầy cảm xúc về những kinh nghiệm mà mình đã trải qua, hoặc chứng kiến những biến cố lịch sử của dân tộc, trên con đường đi tìm tự do, cũng như là những khó khăn bước đầu định cư và lập nghiệp nơi xứ người. Đây là cơ hội để có thể thông cảm và hiểu biết lẫn nhau hơn giữa các thế hệ tỵ nạn; đồng thời cũng là tạo cho những thế hệ mai sau thấu hiểu, hãnh diện và nhớ ơn những hy sinh và can đảm của tiền nhân.

VIETNAMESE HERITAGE MUSEUM | ORAL HISTORY PROJECT: Through these oral history interviews, we will be able to learn and celebrate the personal experiences of notable Vietnamese-Americans, who offer their own accounts of history. These interviews document aspects of the historical experience of Vietnamese refugees, immigration, and settlement, which tend to be missing from most mainstream sources. These oral history documentaries will provide an avenue for both understanding and appreciating of the present and future generations of Vietnamese refugees throughout the world.

Some of the world’s greatest cultural and historical treasures are housed in London’s British Museum, and a significant number of them were taken during Britain’s centuries-long imperial rule. In recent years, many of the countries missing their cultural heritage have been asking for some of these items back.
Benin City in Nigeria is one of those places. They've been calling for the return of the Benin Bronzes, hundreds of artifacts looted in 1897 when British soldiers embarked a punitive expedition to Benin. Many are now housed in the British Museum.
And it's just the beginning. As the world reckons with the damage inflicted during Europe’s colonial global takeover, the calls for these items to be returned are getting louder and louder.

Sau ngày 30 tháng Tư năm 1975, cựu Thiếu úy Phạm Đức Nhì trình diện và bị đưa vào phân trại E, trại tập trung “cải tạo” A20. Ông là người đã khởi xướng cho anh em trong tù hát bài Việt Nam Quê Hương Ngạo Nghễ của cố nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Đức Quang trước mặt các cán bộ. Rồi ông bị vào xà lim vì liên quan đến vụ một người tù đánh trật tự. Trước khi đưa hai chân vào cùm tên trực trại bắt ông cởi hết quần áo chỉ để lại một bộ đồ tù mỏng dính. Rồi mỗi bữa ăn với 2 muỗng cơm, 2 muỗng nước cho đến khi được thả sau 59 ngày, ông không còn đứng được mà phải bò ra khỏi xà lim…
Dù trong tình trạng sức khỏe suy yếu, trong ngày Tết Nguyên Đán 1982, anh và một số bạn tù đã tổ chức buổi văn nghệ Những Tiếng Hát Bừng Sáng A20 để biểu dương tinh thần bất khuất và ý chí can đảm của họ. Rồi những bài thơ được đọc lên để tưởng niệm những bạn tù vượt ngục nhưng tử nạn. Những bản nhạc tự sáng tác trong tù đã lần lượt được lén lút hát, và khán giả là những bạn tù âm thầm tham dự, thưởng thức trong lòng và không một tiếng vỗ tay, qua mặt những tên giám thị nổi tiếng ác độc trong trại tù này.

Lịch Sử Qua Chuyện Kể là một trong những dự án của Viện Bảo Tàng Di Sản Người Việt để lưu lại những câu chuyện trong ký ức, trực tiếp qua lời thuật chuyện của những người đã từng tham gia hay là nhân chứng trong các sự kiện lịch sử cận đại. Dự án này là một công trình nghiên cứu mục đích sưu tầm, lưu trữ và giải thích lịch sử người Việt tỵ nạn.
Những người Việt tỵ nạn sống sót cần có cơ hội trực tiếp chia sẻ cụ thể đầy cảm xúc về những kinh nghiệm mà mình đã trải qua, hoặc chứng kiến những biến cố lịch sử của dân tộc, trên con đường đi tìm tự do, cũng như là những khó khăn bước đầu định cư và lập nghiệp nơi xứ người. Đây là cơ hội để có thể thông cảm và hiểu biết lẫn nhau hơn giữa các thế hệ tỵ nạn; đồng thời cũng là tạo cho những thế hệ mai sau thấu hiểu, hãnh diện và nhớ ơn những hy sinh và can đảm của tiền nhân.

These interviews document aspects of the historical experience of Vietnamese refugees, immigration, and settlement, which tend to be missing from most mainstream sources. These oral history documentaries will provide an avenue for both understanding and appreciating of the present and future generations of Vietnamese refugees throughout the world.

I shoot most walks on a DJI Pocket 2 or my iPhone 15 Pro Max. For drives, it's the same cameras - but on a dashcam mount.

I live in the southeastern United States. Kentucky, specifically.

The Field Museum in Chicago preserves everything from fish and snakes to frogs and Komodo dragons in their basement.
These 11 million fluid specimens are preserved in jars or tanks. Preparing and storing them is a centuries-long commitment, so why do it? This method effectively keeps their shape and, in some cases, even DNA. Not only that, but it has helped researchers do groundbreaking work, like developing new techniques for getting old DNA and discovering new species right among the shelves.
We went to the Field Museum to see how new specimens are added to the ever-growing collection.

Archaeological Museum of Chios
The Archaeological Museum of Chios is a museum located on Michalon Street in Chios town, Chios, Greece. It was constructed in 1966-1971 and covers a total area of 2500 square metres. 1200 square metres of floor space is occupied by the exhibitions.
The museum underwent renovation in 1998 and reopened in November 1999 and features a collection of antiquities from the Neolithic Era up to the Roman times excavated at the ancient sites of Emporio, Fana, Dotia, Aghio Galas and at Chios town.Many of the artifacts unearthed at the sites were dug by the British School of Archaeology.
The periodical exhibition is housed on the third floor and is named “Psara in Antiquity”. It contains artifacts such as vases, gold jewelry, terracotta figurines and funeral gift items. The Psara collection was found at the Mycenaean Necropolis of Archontiki on Psara Island.Of major note is a prehistoric vase found in Emporio, dated back to the 14th century B.C., geometric amphoras found in the town of Chios, dated to the 8th century B.C. and golden leaves unearthed in a grave at the town of Chios, dated back to the Hellenistic period.
