President MANUEL LUIS QUEZON: Message to the People of the Philippines | Circa 1920s
A PilipinasMabuhay100 exclusive: His Excellency, President MANUEL LUIS QUEZON, Second President of the Philippines (First President of the Philippine Commonwealth) (1935-1944), in a speech broadcast to the Filipino People — delivered in the 1920's-30s. A RARE RECORDING! According to President Quezon's grandson, current Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, Manuel 'Manolo' L. Quezon III, this speech was delivered after the President was diagnosed with tuberculosis and "assumed that he didn't have much longer to live." During his tenure, President Quezon led the Philippines on its first steps towards full independence; painstakingly established a government-in-exile in the United States during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines and lifted up the morale of the Filipino People in the midst of war through his frequent radio broadcasts. Quezon died of tuberculosis in Saranac Lake, New York on August 1, 1944; Vice-President Sergio S. Osmeña succeeded him as the Third President of the Philippines (Second President of the Philippine Commonwealth). Two years later, his dream was realized at last; the Republic of the Philippines was finally inaugurated as a sovereign, independent nation on the 4th of July, 1946, with Manuel L. Roxas as the newly-elected President of the Philippines. "I would rather have a country run like hell by Filipinos than a country run like heaven by the Americans, because however a bad Filipino ...

Anonymous - Message to Philippine President PNoy
Transcript: Greetings Philippines. Greetings Mister President. We are Anonymous. For more than 2 years now, the Filipino people have put their trust in you. You made the people believe that in taking up the name of your parents and their legacy, you will lead our Nation back to greatness. The time has come for us Filipinos, deprived of truth, to take back that trust we have given you even before the elections. Why? You have done little to alleviate the sufferings of your people. Just what have you done? During your first year of Presidency, you immediately ordered the outlawing of vehicular sirens in order to promote equality and respect on the road. But please do remember that the progress of the nation does not rely on road discipline alone. Blame games mark your first term of office. Though we must commend your constant use of the Filipino Language in your speeches, we find no interest in your zealous quest in revealing the wrongs of the previous administration. Leave that to your Truth Commission and focus on what's really essential. For us, what matters most is the present condition of the country. Many issues are still left unsolved. As you can see, many people are still hungry, jobless. Children are deprived of their basic needs like education. How do you expect our nation to be restored to glory if these children do not even know the alphabet? How do you expect them to aid in our national growth when they are constantly bothered by a growling stomach? Your act of ...

Coke Bottle Lights Up Filipino's Lives - It is just Amazing WOW!!!!
You must see this.. Coke Bottles are transforming Manila's rural areas. These plastic bottles are now being viewed as a green, cheap and sustainable way to light homes. In rural Manila where homes are often built so close to each other that they have no windows or natural light these bottles are a God send. With electricity unaffordable or unavailable for many families they often have to work, do chores, and eat in near darkness. Now there is light. Take a look at this. Absolutely incredible. Coke bottles are the major component of an innovation called the "Solar Bottle Bulb." And these bottles are popping out of roofs and illuminating the lives of many Filipino's. You must see this... Video Montage: Urban Tranquility - Abu Dhabi, UAE (Canon EOS 7D)
Hi guys, this is my first personal video project. I'm a Filipino from Cagayan de Oro City, currently working in Abu dhabi. First time with video shooting and pretty lucky its with the Canon EOS 7D. I never had a video camera of my own before until now. I'm still trying to learn this thing thru good ol' self-learning and getting inspiration from a lot of people all over the internet. But oh well, there is a first time for everything I guess. Please don't be too harsh on the critiques! hehe.
All shots done in abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Using up 2 separate mornings and one cold afternoon for video timelapse. I also tried to shoot when there was nobody around, like early morning or when everybody else is working and in the office. Even tho I have a lot of things in mind, I was not able to really stay long out there and shoot. I have a very busy schedule and very little free time.
All shots using Canon EOS 7D.
LENSES
Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L USM
Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D
(I just wish I had at least a fluid head, a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 coz 24mm on 7D is not very wide; because of 1.6x crop factor on Canon, and if somebody would let me borrow a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM for a few days, that would be great! -oOo-Shameless plug-oOo-)
Editing was in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Very n00b Color grading done in Adobe After Effects CS4, preparation of EOS 7D Videos using MPEG Streamclip for windows.
System used was an average laptop called HP Pavilion DV6. It has intel Core 2 Duo P800 2.53GHz but still very slow to render and convert Full HD 1080p. It's "slowness" frustrating. But it still gets the job done, it just needs a little more time tho.
Music: Chill Sessions Chill in Arabia: Snow Desert - Speechless Project (TQT Mix) (So! sorry I forgot this one on the video ending credits, shame on me)
Special Thanks:
Friends and family. Erwin Magbanua (http://www.vimeo.com/wingdezigns) for being my mentor in this Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects thingee. Titz Tizon for being my on-call consultant for all things about Nikon, Canon and beyond. Ratfobya for being my drive and inspiration. Wella Maria Hong for being my trusty assistant.
(Sorry for the letterbox on the video. Will upload a larger version later.)
Most Colorgrading learned from: VideoCoPilot and GreyscaleGorilla and youtube
UPDATE: I have uploaded a new video without a letterbox . Resolution is 1280 x 720 - 24fps - H.264 - mp4
[workflow]
The awesome PATRICIO MUñOZ of 7DPro.com helped me in putting up a short Q&A; workflow article on the 7D.

Love and Inside Jokes
I made this for my friend, Byron Salazar, dedicated his special someone who's about to leave for a 3 month job in the U.S.
2,500 photographs captured with Canon 7D with Anya Ong's 18-55mm Kitlens and my intervalometer. My 7D was on a small tripod with a suction grip that is secured on the car's windshield but it kept on falling so I had to keep on pushing it. I was basically holding my camera for 6 hours (12mn-6am).
The spontaneous Production (Planning, shooting, editing)
started at March 11, 2011 - 10:30 pm
and ended at March 12, 2011 - 8:30 am
Final uncredited output was given hours before her flight.
All words, inside jokes, and locations were special to both of them.
Byron's House
Petron, Quezon Ave.
Mister Kabab, West Ave.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Intramuros
Dangwa, Manila

No color grading was done.
(I do not own the music)
I used the awesome song "Another Day" by The Album Leaf
(AWESOME BAND FROM SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA)
Feel free to share this one but don't forget to credit :)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, what about motion picture?
These are lines from the award-winning wedding demo made by Paper Cranes Production, a group from the sun-kissed harbors of Sydney.
It’s our first time to shoot a film-maker/wedding videographer and it’s out of the country.
Santo and Dewi are based in Sydney Australia but were born in Indonesia. Jakarta happens to be their hometown, and as is customary to Filipinos and most Asians, they opted to fly back to their hometown to get married there.
We’ve been out of the country for 3 weeks in a row: Malaysia, Seattle, China, Bali, Jakarta and man it wasn’t easy at all! Our last stop was Santo and Dewi’s wedding. You can just imagine how dead tired we were! On their wedding day we woke up at 4am to get to the hotel at 5am. Yup, that’s how it is in Jakarta. The day started with makeup sessions as early as 3am, followed by some family cermemonies, since the couple were both Chinese. This includes the cutting of the ribbon, to signify that the older sibling who is not yet married is giving authority to the younger sibling to get married ahead of him. Still part of the tradition, the parents of the bride are the ones to drop the veil on the brides face. When the groom finally gets in the room, he will raise up his brides veil. Then there’s the tea ceremony in which the couple offers tea to the family members in exchange for Ang Pow. The Christian ceremonies followed soon after. The wedding was amazing. It was filled with fun, laughter and tears…lots and lots of tears. It’s funny how Santo and Dewi were telling me that they consider themselves as fun-loving people. That’s why they liked most of our upbeat SDEs. But during the wedding day I can’t help but agree that they are indeed a fun but there were just too much emotions that day. Tears just welled up on everyone’s faces during the ceremony so I decided not to go with an upbeat tempo and chose the slow ones on the list of songs he gave me.
translation for the vows in Indonesian:
Dewi: “for richer or poorer
in sickness and in health
no matter skinny or fat (???)
I hope you will be fatter soon
Until our father God calls us back to his house in heaven.”
One thing I really learned from this wedding is that no matter how tired or sick you are, when you are doing it for people whom you can easily get along with, who even makes you feel like guests, enjoy your company and treats you with respect, there’s
energy that keeps you going not because of the pressure but because of a new-found friendship.
To Santo and Dewi, Jakarta was a blast because of you guys! God Bless on your new journey and thanks for the wonderful treat!

Lyrics:
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
you are now in the presence of a legend /
you ain't gotta ask already know who the best is /
first name manny / last name Pacquiao /
when the bell ring get ready for the smackdown /
this is the anthem, moving like a champion /
worldwide hustle passport full of stamps man /
call the promoter, got unfinished business /
throw on the gloves watch 'em take another victim /
and you can be a witness/ check the hand speed quickness /
shot to the jaw "ah!" man i think he finished /
another shot to the body homie yeah he came to win this /
you laying on the floor wonderin' why the room is spinnin /
you just got the smackdown/ you are not a challenge /
you can get knocked the f*ck out like Morales /
its the peoples champ, watch the crowd goin' wild and /
Manny pack reppin' for the philippine islands /
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
im saying, one punch your career could be over /
you can ask Oscar De La Hoya, i told yah /
shit outta luck, like a two-leaf clover /
you don't wanna step to a Filipino soldier /
the best pound for pound, when word get around /
when he step in the ring, best believe its goin' down /
got the eye of tiger back on the prowl /
last man standing at the end of the last round /
Manny pacquiao / never will he backdown /
fighting to the top / hey the money come in stacks now /
back on the attack (ay) the thrilla from Manila /
this is grown man business ain't nobody do it bigga /
get ready for the smackdown bring another challenge /
another trip to vegas, gimme Manny for a thousand /
its the peoples champ, watch the crowd goin' wild and /
Manny pack fightin' for the Philippine islands /
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
Manny P the best pound for pound /
Last man standing at the end of the round /
And when the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
When the bell ring best believe it’s going down /
what the people want? /
Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny /
who we come to see? /
Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny /
