Tips on managing cellulitis - a skin infection
A patient asked me for helpful hints on how to get better with a skin infection, otherwise known as cellulitis. Keeping it elevated and taking your medicine is key. Go back to be seen if it looks worse.

Dissecting Scalp Cellulitis part 2
*Update: 12/26/2012 So it has been a while since I have posted an update, I have been going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Since September. Today I just got back from my first infusion treatment with a drug called Rituxan. It is a 3 hour drive down there then a 3 hour treatment then another 3 hours back. Not to bad if it pays off. I have another appointment there on January 9th and another appointment 4 weeks from that. Hopefully this helps, because Time is running out with the insurance company. Update: 4/2/2012 Went to University of Minnesota on the 29th... I feel I was brushed under the rug, I asked them to set me up with an appointment with someone who might be willing to perform the surgery and instead they gave me a phone number and told me to call, but that they would just prescribe me Accutane. I expressed my concern about ... I will only have insurance for 16 more months and Accutane takes about 8 months to work and if it don't work then what? My concern with the side affects of Accutane being already depressed, and serious depression issues form the past and was told that He has never had anything bad happen before. so.... I don't know... Update: 1/19/2012 Have not went back to the last dermatologist the laser treatments were to painful. I was referred to the University of Minnesota, and I am scheduled for March 29th! I am glad for this, maybe they can do the full scalp removal as I have been requesting for a while. I went and revisited my primary doctor ...

Bibiane's Milk Bath
Milk Baths and Rose Water?
Whenever I take a bath, it is always with milk. The properties of milk have been known to mankind way before Cleopatra, but she was the one famous for taking baths in milk and honey in the day time and rose water at night. I take milk baths and I spray my entire body with rose water every day.
Taking baths in milk is amazing. The bacteria of milk is a friendly bacteria to human and is a good one for our bodies. This friendly bacteria kills the bad ones. Bathing in milk kills all the bacteria on your skin and because milk is added to hot water, the hot water opens the pores of the skin and the friendly bacteria kills all the bacteria in your skin as well. This eliminates cellulitis, it is anti-aging, appeasing the nervous system and easing the digestive system, and it regulates blood circulation and blood flow. Bathing in milk is extraordinary. It may sound like a royal treatment and it is nothing less but that. It will leave your skin completely rejuvenated and soft, with a nice glow. And I finish this treatment by spraying my entire body with rose water, which heals all the broken capillaries of your skin and eliminates redness, smells good and makes your skin even healthier, glowing and softer. Rose water is calming and soothing as well.
Anyway, here is a brief video of me taking a bath in milk.
Bisous
xxooxx
N.B. Make sure that the milk is fresh when preparing a milk bath. Always taste the milk prior to dropping it in the bath, to make sure that it is not sour. It may sound funny for me to say this but, although the bacteria would still have their wonderful effects of killing all the bad bacteria on and in your skin and it s anti-aging properties and smoothing of your skin, the lactic acid build up from the fermentation would have another effect. It would drop your blood pressure really fast and you could loose consciousness in your bath. It takes bout 15 minutes to happen. On the other hand, its a good thing to know, if you have high blood pressure, you could lower your blood pressure really fast within 10 minutes in your bath, get out and take a cold shower and be perfectly fine and relaxed. Just so that you know. Take care!

Cellulitis caused by Embrel
What is cellulitis? Cellulitis is a common infection of the lower layers of skin (dermis) and the subcutaneous tissues (areas underneath the skin) caused by a bacterial infection. While cellulitis sometimes develops around wounds in the skin or surgical incisions, in other cases it arises without an obvious source for the bacterial infection. What are the symptoms of cellulitis? Cellulitis usually begins as a small area of pain and redness on the skin. This area spreads to surrounding tissues, resulting in the typical signs of inflammation redness, swelling, warmth, and pain. A person with cellulitis can also develop fever /or swollen lymph nodes in the area of the infection. Who is at risk for cellulitis? Anyone may develop cellulitis. Males and females and people of all races are equally likely to become infected. However, people whose immune systems are weakened for any reason (like poor health or because they are on immune-suppressing drugs) and those with diabetes are at highest risk for developing cellulitis. In my case: I was on Embrel (Étanarcept), an immune-suppression drug so as to treat a form of arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis known as AS. Why? Because AS is now know to be an auto-immune system disorder, in short words, some people just have an overactive Immune System. That was my case, and after living 25 years with incredible back pain I wanted to try it. Did the treatment starting in May 2009 and ended it in September. Now from September to ...
