UPDATED 2012: Floating Compressed natural gas (FCNG) with CNG shuttle transportation service
Monetising offshore gas by compressing and shipping in CNG carriers is simpler and more economic than liquefying and shipping in LNG carriers, unless the markets are extremely distant. Marine CNG is the transportation by ship of natural gas stored under pressure and a complimentary alternative to LNG and FLNG. For this purpose natural gas is simply mechanically compressed, as it is in a pipeline. Compression and discharge facilities are relatively simple and maintain a small footprint with minimal environmental impact. Unlike liquefied natural gas (LNG), CNG does not require complex and expensive refrigeration. CNG is ideally suited to smaller volumes and markets less than 2000km away. This Sea NG animation illustrates a floating CNG (FCNG) natural gas transportation solution for monetizing smaller reserves or stranded natural gas fields. Produced natural gas is delivered from the FPSO to a coastal power plant with a Marine CNG shuttle service utilizing CNG ships. The power plant is diversifying their fuel supply from expensive liquids (MDO or HFO) to natural gas (CNG) burned on combined cycle turbines. The model for marine CNG service uses one or more ships on a given route to transport natural gas between receipt and delivery points on a specific route, much like a passenger ferry service. Loading and discharge of gas may be carried out onshore or offshore. The facilities required are relatively simple and small in scale. Sea NG Corporation is a Canadian company engaged ...

The Truth About Fracking | Is Fracking Safe? | What is Hydrofracking? | Benefits of Fracking
The Truth About Fracking - Is Natural Gas Fracking Safe? - Hydraulic Fracturing - Benefits of Fracking Fracking is not new. Oil and gas companies have been fracturing hydrocarbon-bearing rock formations for over 50 years in order to improve flow rates and ultimate recoveries from low-permeability reservoirs. Fracking is generally safe. Hydraulic fracturing operations performed by competent operators are not likely to cause immediate local environmental problems. Fracking does pose statistically minor hazards to local surface water and shallow fresh water aquifers. The frack can go "out of zone" and pollute ground water, but this is a rare occurrence. Improper handling of fracking chemicals at the surface can pollute surface waters and seep into ground waters, but operators following proper handling procedures are not likely to cause local pollution. Underground disposal of frac fluids has been tied to earthquake activity in some regions, but seismic impacts are exceedingly rare and to date have not caused extensive property damage or loss of life. Fracking has increased supplies of natural gas and brought energy prices down. Extensive fracturing of tight shale and sand formations throughout the United States has increased the proven reserves of natural gas. Fracturing has enabled the United States to DECREASE its greenhouse gas emissions in the short run, due to switching from coal to natural gas for use as electric power generation fuel in many places. Natural gas emits ...

pakistan have world largest resources.mp4 - YouTube.flv
Natural gas production is at a high level in Pakistan. Estimated reserves are 885.3 billion cubic meters (as of January 2009). Gas fields are expected to last for another 20 years. The Sui gas field is the largest, accounting for 26% of Pakistan's gas production. Daily production is 19 million cubic meters a day. Under the barren mountains of Balochistan and the sands of Sindh, there are untouched oil and gas reserves. Coal reserves are estimated at 175 billion tons. This would equate to 618 billion barrels of crude oil. When compared to oil reserves his is more than twice the amount of the top four countries. If At KSA's current usage, the reserves would last more than 200 years

Iran may now rank first in world in natural gas reserves
Iran may rank first in the world in terms of gas reserves following the discovery of a new reservoir in the Caspian Sea. The new gas reservoir was discovered 700-meters deep in the sea, with its reserves standing at 50 trillion cubic feet. In an effort Friday to increase pressure on Tehran over its disputed nuclear program, EU leaders called for more sanctions against Iran to be put in place by the end of January. Iran sits on the world's second-largest natural gas reserves after Russia, but international sanctions have frustrated plans to develop the country's gas sector for export, and booming domestic demand has made Iran the third-largest consumer of natural gas and a top-30 importer.

Nigeria's Oil and Gas Production with Simon Thorne
(www.abndigital.com) The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria has directed all oil and gas production platforms to shut down the country's oil and gas production from midnight of Sunday. To analyse the impact this strike will have on the production and supply of oil across Europe and other regions, ABN's Wole Famurewa crosses to our London studios to speak with Simon Thorne, Editorial Director of Platts.

Dr. Lyle J. Hayden on Iran Oil Revenues and Reserves (1952)
thefilmarchive.org Energy resources in Iran consist of the fourth largest oil reserves and the second largest natural gas reserves in the world. Iran is in a constant battle to use its energy resources more effectively in the face of subsidization and the need for technological advances in energy exploration and production. Energy wastage in Iran amounts to six or seven billion dollars (2008). The energy consumption in the country is extraordinarily higher than international standards. Iran recycles 28 percent of its used oil and gas whereas the figure for certain countries stands at 60 percent. Iran paid $84 billion in subsidies for oil, gas and electricity in 2008. Iran is one of the most energy intensive countries of the world with per capita energy consumption 15 times that of Japan and 10 times that of European Union. Also due to huge energy subsidies, Iran is one of the most energy inefficient countries of the world, with the energy intensity three times higher than global average and 2.5 times the middle eastern average. Iran is one of the leading members of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) and the Organization of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF). Iran received $47 billion dollars in oil export revenues, which accounts for about 50% of state revenues. Natural gas and oil consumption both account for about half of Iran's domestic energy consumption. With its heavy dependence on oil and gas revenues Iran continues to explore for new sources of ...

CHINA vs INDIA: ECONOMIC POWERHOUSE'S on COLISION course over south sea OIL! [MILITARY ACTION]
China & India on collision course as oil & gas tension mounts The Indian navy is prepared to deploy vessels to the South China Sea to protect India's oil interests there, the navy chief said on Monday amid growing international fears over the potential for naval clashes in the disputed region. India has sparred diplomatically with China in the past over its gas and oil exploration block off the coast of Vietnam. China claims virtually the entire mineral-rich South China Sea and has stepped up its military presence there. Other nations such as Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia have competing claims. Indian state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has a stake in a gas field in the Nam Con Son basin, off Vietnam's south coast. Indian Navy Chief Admiral DK Joshi said while India was not a claimant in the dispute over territorial rights in the South China Sea, it was prepared to act, if necessary, to protect its maritime and economic interests in the region. "When the requirement is there, for example, in situations where our country's interests are involved, for example ONGC ... we will be required to go there and we are prepared for that," Joshi told a news conference. "Now, are we preparing for it? Are we having exercises of that nature? The short answer is yes," he said. He described the modernization of China's navy as "truly impressive" and acknowledged that it was a source of major concern for India. Any display of naval assertiveness by India in the South ...
