----------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE national president of the Comanchero motorcycle club was arrested at Gold Coast Airport last night.
The man, who cannot be named until he has appeared in court, was arrested by detectives from Taskforce Maxima as he arrived with his wife and family for a holiday after being released from a NSW jail yesterday.
He was wanted by police on a warrant for threatening a Queensland Police officer.
The 29-year-old was arrested about 5pm as he and his family disembarked from a flight from Sydney.
The well-known bikie is no stranger to the Gold Coast.
The national office-bearer was in hiding at Hope Island in December 2012 before being arrested after a national manhunt.
The charges are understood to relate to a threat allegedly made over that arrest.
Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said: "This arrest and the ongoing conduct of gang leaders provides another example of unlawful activity carried by these Criminal Gangs and the threat they pose to community safety.
"The arrest sends a message to Gang members that unlawful actions will not be tolerated and enforcement action will be taken at every opportunity, regardless as to where they reside."
He is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court Tuesday morning.

The Comanchero Motorcycle Club is an outlaw motorcycle gang in Australia, with chapters in Strathfield. The word outlaw itself carries a specific meaning which does not imply immediate criminal intent; rather it means the club is not sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association and does not adhere to the AMA's rules. The Comancheros are participants in the United Motorcycle Council of NSW, which convened a conference in 2009 to address legislation aimed against the "bikie" clubs, their poor public image in the wake of several violent clashes and ongoing biker wars, and defusing deadly feuds such as the Comancheros' battles with the Hells Angels. The sincerity of these efforts to defend the battered image of the clubs has met with skepticism.

Bravery. Courage. Defiance. Heartbreak. They’re not words you normally attach to Father’s Day but Sunday, September 2nd 1984 was a Father’s Day like no other. It was the day two rival bikie gangs went to war in the car park of a Sydney pub, leaving dozens of people wounded and seven dead, including an innocent 15 year old girl. The notorious Milperra Massacre remains the worst single outbreak of bikie violence the world has ever seen. This Father’s Day marks 30 years since that bloodbath stunned Australia. In this special edition of 60 Minutes, Michael Usher takes viewers inside the massacre like never before.
· Linda Motton was 22 years old and sitting in the front seat of a car, when the violence erupted. Her windscreen was shattered, and she suffered shrapnel wounds to her face and head, but Linda bravely crawled under the car and started taking photos. Those photos were crucial to the police investigation. Linda has endured decades of death threats, but this Sunday she breaks her 30 year silence.
· 15 year old Leanne Walters was fatally shot, caught in the crossfire. On 60 Minutes, for the first time, her father Rex reveals his 30 year heartbreak, including the Father’s Day present Leanne never got to give him.
· Detectives John Garvey and Mick McGann who courageously stormed the car park and disarmed the bikies, unveil never before seen evidence that led to the arrest and conviction of 30 bikies in Australia’s longest criminal trial.
· Jock Ross, the feared bikie boss, who’s survived numerous attacks on his life, near fatal shootings, and served time for murder, sits down for his first in-depth interview about what happened that day.

Victoria Police detectives from Task Force Echo have found possible explosives after two members of an outlaw bikie gang from Melbourne's south east were arrested this morning.
Two separate search warrants were issued in relation to an alleged shooting incident at High Street, Preston on October 24. Police arrived to find the alleged offenders had fled. No one was injured at the time.

A 24-year-old man, also a member of the Hallam Chapter of the Comancheros, was arrested during a search warrant at Heatherton Road in Narre Warren, where police found a large number of firearms and what police believe to be explosives in a car.
The area has been roped off, and the Bomb Response Unit is attending to ensure the materials are disposed of safely.
Both men have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries.

It's now tougher than ever to be a bikie in Australia.
In 2013 Campbell Newman, premier of the state of Queensland, declared that 26 motorcycle clubs were to be classified criminal organisations. He then announced "the toughest laws in the nation," a set of strict anti-association laws aimed at snuffing out bikie gangs altogether.
The new laws prohibited club members from meeting in groups larger than two, barred them from certain jobs, and forced anyone on a Harley to prove they weren't a part of a criminal gang. This has made life difficult for all riders, and just about impossible for club members. It also drove an upswing of arrests for both.
So are the laws working? And more importantly, do they make sense? We hung out with the president of Queensland's largest outlaw club, the Rebels, to see for ourselves.

There are numerous gangs in New Zealand, of varying criminality, organisation and ethnicity. The New Zealand Police have distinguished between "New Zealand gangs", outlaw motorcycle gangs and local street gangs. They named the three most prominent "New Zealand gangs" as Black Power (not related to the African-American movement); the Mongrel Mob, and the Nomads.[1] Examples of local street gangs are the Junior Don Kings (JDK) and Dope Money Sex (DMS) in Central Auckland.[2]
According to the book Gangs by Ross Kemp, New Zealand has more gangs per head than any other country in the world,[3] with about seventy major gangs and over 4,000 patched members[4] in a population of 4 million people.

Episode Five
Father's Day, 1984. A 'swap meet' at Milperra becomes the moment of truth for both clubs.
A young girl, Leanne, encourages Shifty, the Sergeant at Arms for the Rebels and a friend of her sister's, to take her to the swap meet. It is going to be a great day. Though neither of the two warring clubs expect more than a show of force at such a public event, motives are misunderstood when a number of Bandidos ride by Kiddo's house. As the women prepare family barbeques, the two clubs assemble at their respective clubhouses. The Comancheros are the first to arrive at Milperra and think the Bandidos are a no-show. Then the Bandidos suddenly arrive in force catching the Comancheros unprepared and clearly outnumbered.
