M2TW, Stainless Steel6.3: The Battle of Eski Zagora 1122, Triumph of the Varangian Guard
Again sorry for the laggy part, there were too many men.. During the 2nd Pecheneg Invasion of Byzantine territory, the Byzantine Emperor Ioannis II Komnenos or John II had his army fighting the Turks in Anatolia. As he recalled it back to Europe, he offered the Pechenegs terms in their favor to have them relax till his army arrives. The Pechenegs had their families & all belongings with them so they set up camp at Eski Zagora. When the Byzantines under Emperor John II arrived they suddenly attacked the Pechenegs in full force catching them completly off guard. They Pechenegs had already suffered a crushing almost annihilating defeat over 100 years before by Emperor Alexios I Komnenos, so they fought with all their strenght to hold the Byzantines & protect their families & baggage. Then the Emperor sent his English Varangian Guardsmen & with their fearsom 2-handed axes, they opened a path through the thick of the Pechenegs, hacking & slaughtering their way through untill they broke the Pecheneg forces completly. The Battle resulted in over 85% of the Pechenegs wiped out & literally siezed to exist after it.. Only very few managed to survive who joined the ranks of the Byzantines. The Varagian Guardsmen showed what they could accomplish in such battles even tho they were only over 430 of them, they broke the Pecheneg Turkish forces & spread huge panic among their ranks.

M2TW, Stainless Steel6.3: The Battle of Levounion 1091
Sorry for the lag, but with some 6000 men in all batting it out its no wonder it lagged a bit during the fighting, i also had to lower settings... During the Reign of Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos, some 80000 Pecheneg Turks Crossed the Danube into Byzantine Territory & were headed streight for the Byzantine Capital Constantinople. Emperor Alexios I asked for help from the Cumans in which he offered them Gold in exchange for assistance. In no time, some 40000 Cumans rushed to join Alexios & the Byzantines, swelling the Byzantine ranks up to roughly 65000 including Europeans fighting for the Byzantines. Together they marched to meet the threat at once, catching the Pechenegs by surprise at Levounion. The Emperor positioned himself on the right flank along with the European Latinikon & his Kataphracts & positioned the Cumans on the left flank as the light infantry, the Skutatoi & the Varangian Guard formed the center. The Pechenegs were caught completly by surprise & the Byzantines & their Cuman allies smashed into them with brute force & what followed resulted in almost total annihilation of the Pechenegs. The Crushing Victory Emperor Alexios won that day over the Pechenegs was the first major victory that marked the beginning of the Komnenean Restoration of the Empire. Most of the Pechenegs were slaughtered & those who were captured entered service for the Empire. It was not untill 1122 when the Pechenegs invaded Byzantine territory again, but this time they were ...

MACHINEGUN 6P41 PECHENEG
Machinegun 6P41 Pecheneg Manufacturer: www.zid.ru Caliber: 7.62x54mm R Weight: 8.7 kg on bipod; 12.7 kg on infantry tripod mount Length: 1155 mm Length of barrel: 658 mm Feeding: belt, 100 or 200 rounds Rate of fire: 650 rounds/min 7.62mm 6P41 Pecheneg machine gun is intended to engage hostile manpower, fire means and aerial targets. The enhanced rigidity of the barrel, annihilation of its thermal deformation due to wind and actually the absence of thermal air flow from the heated barrel has made it possible to improve aiming conditions and increase accuracy of fire more than 2 times. The whole range of rifle cartridges is used to fire from the machine gun. The availability of gas regulator ensures the reliable operation of machine gun automatics in various operation conditions. The high degree of commonality with the PKM machine gun and similar layout of automatics action ensure the reliability of the Pecheneg machine gun in any operating conditions. The machine gun incorporates some design novelties aimed to increase the effectiveness of barrel cooling, which has allowed a spare barrel to be eliminated from the machine gun set. It is a light machine gun and was born from experience of Afghanistan and recent local conflicts, especially the continuous fight with insurgents and terrorists in Chechnya. Basically, Pecheneg is a standard 7.62x54R PKM machine gun without the rapid barrel-change option, and intended for use from an integral bipod as a squad support weapon. It ...

Turisas - Dnieper Rapids
Second best song of Turisas yet. (IMO) ------ Lyrics ------ A terrible noise heard from far away Drowning all other sounds No cry of the birds nor voice of men Just an awful groan Silence fell over the men As the river seemed to end Then... Clouds of spray, Pechenegs prey The Insatiable One is hungry today Avoid the rocks for all you're worth Whirlpools gaze from the depths of earth Like dominoes six locks will fall One after another The World Serpent will rise from the silt And poison the sky Clouds of spray, Pechenegs pray The Insatiable One is hungry today The violent current swept Karl away One mistake- with your life you pay Silence fell over the men As the river seemed to... A sight they had dreamed of Now opened in front of them Fraught with danger and travail The river came to an end

Oghuz Turks in Turkmenistan
Y dna haplogroups R1b -37 % j2- 17 % G -12 % R1a - 9 % Q -5% N 6 % L 6 % Turkic people The Turkomen also known as Oghuz Turks (a linguistic term designating the Western Turkic or Oghuz languages from the Oghur languages) were a historical Turkic tribal confederation in Central Asia during the early medieval Turkic expansion. The name Oghuz is just the Common Turkic word for "tribe". They are referred to as "Western Turks" because they moved west from other Turkic peoples after the Göktürk empire collapsed, and because the majority of the areas in which they inhabit today (except Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Sahra) are west of the Caspian Sea, while those referred to as "Eastern Turks" live east of the Caspian Sea. The founders of the Ottoman Empire were also Oghuz Turks. In the 9th century, the Oghuz Turks from the Aral steppes drove the Pecheneg Turks, of the Emba region and the River Ural toward the west. In the 10th century they inhabited the steppe of the rivers Sari-su, Turgai, and Emba to the north of Lake Balkhash of modern day Kazakhstan.[1] A clan of this nation, the Seljuks, embraced Islam and in the 11th century entered Persia, where they founded the Great Seljuk Empire. Similarly, in the 11th century a Tengriist Oghuz clan—referred to as Uzes or Torks in the Russian chronicles—overthrew Pecheneg supremacy in the Russian steppe. Harried by another Turkic horde, the Kipchaks—a branch of the Kimaks of the middle Irtysh or of the Ob—these Oghuz penetrated as far ...

Ногай ель -- Nogai El -- Nogai (w. Kazakh) folk music
Ногайська народна музика. У відео представлені древні кочові народи українських, прикаспійських та казахських степів: ногайці, половці, печеніги. Nogai El. Nogai folk music. In video presented: nomadic peoples of Ukrainian, south Russian / north Caspian and Kazakh steppes: nogais, cumans (polovtsi), patzinaks (pechenegs). Nogais and Cumans are Turkic speaking people. About half thousand nogais still live in Ukraine (some 70.000 nogais live in Kuban and Dagestan, some 11.000 nogais also live in Romania). While pechenges, according to Ukrainian orientalist and Harward prof. Omelyan Pritsak were mongol speaking. Cumans also settled in Hungary (province Nagy Kunsag and Kis Kunsag - Great Cumania / Little Cumania). In times of Ukrainian People´s Republic there existed administartive unit in Ukraine - Polovetska zemla (Cuman land) - south Donetsk region. Nogais, Cumans and Kazakhs are all closely related. Though some say that Cumans were European looking people. But modern Nogais and Kazakhs are heavily mongoloids, though Turkic speaking.

Dədə Qorqud: Heroic Destan of Ancient Oghuz Türks - دده قورقود - (Film, 1975)
Dede Korkut is a heroic destan (legend), also known as Oghuz-nameh among the Oghuz Turk people, which starts out in Central Asia, continues in Anatolia and Iran, and centers most of its action in the Azerbaijani Caucasus. For the Turkic peoples, especially people who identify themselves as Oghuz, it is the principal repository of ethnic identity, history, customs and the value systems of the Turkic peoples throughout history. It commemorates struggles for freedom at a time when the Oghuz Turks were a herding people. The tales tell of warriors and battles and are likely grounded in the conflicts between the Oghuz and the Pechenegs and Kipchaks. Many story elements are familiar to those versed in the Western literary tradition. For example, the story of a monster named "Goggle-eye" Tepegoz bears enough resemblance to the encounter with the Cyclops in Homer's Odyssey that it is believed to have been influenced by the Greek epic or to have one common ancient root. The book also describes in great detail the various sports activities of the ancient Turkic peoples: "Dede Korkut (1000- 1300) clearly referred to certain physical activities and games. In Dede Korkut's description, the athletic skills of Turks, men and women, were described to be "first-rate," especially in horse-riding, archery, cirit [javelin throw], wrestling and polo which are considered Turkish national sports."
