This video is about the difference in language of the coloured community in South Africa. Cape Town “slang” vs. Johannesburg “slang”. All is classified under the language “Afrikaans” with just a little bit of community flavor to it.
The race Coloured people, they only exist in Southern Africa as a race. South African coloured people was once proven that it might be the highest level of mixed ancestry in the world. Most coloured people are from the Khoisan population. Coloured people are very diverse and it is not about their skin shade. Some are dark and some light in complexion. What makes the coloured people different in South Africa.

Hello Bananas, I had so much fun with filming with Mark. The video we made on his channel is hilarious and of course I had to show of my SpongeBob underwear to his viewers. Had so much fun in Cape Town last week and spending time with Mark, even got to meet some of his subscribers even if they had no idea who I was. I am going to try upload two videos a week for the next month or two. Pushing my YouTube channel hard and hoping to make more Bananas in my bunch. The Cape Coloureds form a minority group within South Africa, however they are the predominant population group in the Western Cape. They are generally bilingual, however subsets within the group can be exclusively Afrikaans speakers, whereas others primarily speak English. In addition, some Cape Coloureds may "code switch", resulting in a variation of Afrikaans and English, called Kaapse Afrikaans. Cape Coloureds were defined under apartheid as a subset of the larger Coloured race group,
The Cape Coloureds are a heterogeneous South African ethnic group, with diverse ancestral links. Ancestry may include European settlers, indigenous Khoisan and Xhosa people, and slaves imported from the Dutch East Indies (or a combination of all). People from India and the islands within the Indian Ocean region were also taken to the Cape and sold into slavery by the Dutch settlers. The Indian slaves were almost invariably given Christian names but their places of origin were indicated in the records of sales and other documents so that it is possible to get an idea of the ratio of slaves from different regions. These slaves were, however, dispersed and lost their Indian cultural identity over the course of time. Slaves of Malay ancestry were brought from Indonesia, Malaysia, Madagascar, and Mozambique. This diverse assortment of people was subsequently classified as a single group under the Apartheid regime.

This video is about the difference in language of the coloured community in South Africa. Cape Town “slang” vs. Johannesburg “slang”. All is classified under the language “Afrikaans” with just a little bit of community flavor to it.
The race Coloured people, they only exist in Southern Africa as a race. South African coloured people was once proven that it might be the highest level of mixed ancestry in the world. Most coloured people are from the Khoisan population. Coloured people are very diverse and it is not about their skin shade. Some are dark and some light in complexion. What makes the coloured people different in South Africa.

They wish and work for change in this unvaried day to day life. We follow four characters representing four generations (childhood, youth, adulthood and senior) through their neighbourhood. We meet their friends and family and get insights into their schools and cultural activities. They see their surroundings out of different angles and find themselves in different situations. But they all wish for better, for a brighter future. Young David "Junior" wants to become a soccer star, the 17 year old Nicole enjoys her new freedom as a young adolescent, businessman Paul wants a good career for his two daughters and pushes them to the limits of their ability, and the senior Marlene observes the procedures around her with her wise old eyes. THE DORP does not hold much for the youth to stay away from drugs, crime and gangs. The frustration about this dreary existence finds expression in a violent clash with Police and Metro Police -- one of the biggest community uprisings against the authorities in the area since Apartheid has ended.
