This clip shows some of the work of catching and processing fish aboard a deep sea fishing sterntrawler, the Arctic Ranger, in the mid 1970s. The Ranger was a sister ship of the Gaul , lost while fishing in 1974 , with all 36 crew, aboard. A clip of the investigation of the sinking of the Gaul is posted to YouTube at: www.youtube.com . Overtaking a Lufthansa Cargo MD11
Crossing the North Atlantic on NAT tracks has aircraft in the same direction separated by 1000' instead of the usual 2000' which makes for some great views. We were at Flight Level 310 and travelling at mach 0.84 only about 10-15kts faster than the MD11 which I guess was flying at 0.82. Unfortunately they didn't have cameras. This is the first project in a series of hopefully many more released by Team Nine. Set in Switzerland and Iceland, Shutter Ísland tells the story of Iwan and Raphael meeting up for a fifteen day journey exploring the island in the North Atlantic. We knew that Iceland is also referred to as photographer's paradise so we packed some camera equipment and a plan for a video project. The idea was to capture the sceneries that we came across while driving and hiking, and to bring them home as a souvenir. Good memories.

These images and these sounds were recorded during a travel from "Toulouse" to "Paris", and from "Paris" to "Martinique". We see the North and the South of "Martinique", the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, during the rainy season in July, 2011.
This small video was thought before I arrive on the scene. The images were not priority but it's the sound which guided the shoot and the edition.
Sounds recorded with a zoom H4N (post sync).

Iceland. Land of contrasts: Hot water and Ice, situated in the North Atlantic, right above the mid-ocean ridge that separates America and Europe.
Shooting was done in two stays (2 weeks each) in 2005 & 2006 (both in September) with a result of 15 hours of footage.
Camera was a SONY Z1. I used some COKIN semi-grey Filters in some of the shots to get the sky as dark as I wanted it to be. Almost no color correction was done in the post, but the timelapse and slo-mo.
