Korean history - Baekje Kingdom
In 18 BC, Baekje was founded in the Hangang River basin, emerged as the dominant kingdom of the Three Kingdom Period (5th century). It became the center of northeast Asia's economy and trade due to its important role as marine traffic route. Furthermore, Baekje dispatched many scholars including Ah Jikgi and Wang In These scholars introduced Buddhism, the thousand-character text and Chinese literature to Japan. Their teachings helped Asuka culture - Japans first Buddhist culture in the 7th century - to flourish. This video introduces the fascinate history of Baekje kingdom.

Japanese Islands were colony of Baekje, Korea 왜국(矮國) 한민족 식민지3/7
broadcasted in Dec, 2003-------Baekje had the distinctive governing system called Damno and those Damnos were ruled by many Baekje Kings. We expect we could find traces of Damnos in modern names of places. Then what is the meaning of Damno? 1:05 The term 'Damno' originated in Koguryeo. In Koguryeo, 'conquered territory' was called "Damul" and Koguryeo exliles (or emigrants) to Baekje called their new settlement in Baekje Da-Mul, which changed later into the terms "Damna/Damno". Here "Dam" meant "border" or "wall" and "No (or Ro/Lo)" meant "country/state". Later "Damno/Damna" was used to refer to administrative districts of Baekje. 1:50 Then what is the meaning of Damul, from which the term "Damno" originated? This is "Dam(wall)". It is very common to see "stone wall(Dam)" on a ridge between farming-fields here. In this province, people call it "Damul(or Damuri)". A trace of the term "Damul" still remains : Damuri/Damuro, here in Baekje territory. In this province, people have built a stone-wall (fence) around newly cultivated lands. The stone-wall has been built using stones the new owner of the land get while cultivating lands and they has called the Wall "Damuri". Now we modern Koreans call it "Dam (wall/fence). One more interesting thing is that in the Wando region near from here, people call "Dam" "City". Therefore, "Damno" means "new-dominion with Dam (city wall : borderline) around it" : newly conquered terrtories 3:35 So, traces of the term Damno in place names(in ...

Japan and China (華共/中共) were colony of Baekje, Korea 왜국은 한민족 식민지 1/7
broadcasted in Dec, 2003---------In May, 523, the Emperor passed away and the glorious era of him has disappeared into deep darkness. And now His empire and the history of it have been forgotten. In 1971, the tomb of Muryung, 25th emperor of Baekje, was discovered and he returned to the world from 1400 year darkness . It was the revival of Baekje-now ruined but was so powerful. 1:00 Baekje was a maritime empire that was one of important political and diplomatic leaders of East Asia. International trade was one of important ways to increase national wealth. 1:19 There is a great possibility that Baekje had overseas territories. '22 DAMNOs' is a key to the possibility. 2:30 Baekje has been recognized as the weakest dynasty among the three of Korea around 6C. But is the fixed idea that Baekje was the weakest truth we should believe? Everything in ancient history remains uncertain. Much part of it is myserious, which make history re-anayized whenever new evidences are discovered. 3:10 We are going to solve the mystery of Baekje's overseas territories to save the truth about Baekje from 1000 year darkness. 3:58 Nango-chon is a very small village with a population of 3000. Today, this samll mountain village is receving many visitors from outside the village. Among the visitors there Koreans are.Among the names on the seats designated for the invited people for the event, Korean names are seen. 4:44 It is to celebrate the completion of a new building : 6 year construction and ...

[TV ZONE] The Beauty of Baekje Awoken from its Sleep : Royal Tomb of King Muryeong
A surprising discovery was made in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do on July 8, 1971. From the tomb, several important national treasures were excavated, and moreover, it was the first ancient tomb that has been positively identified among the royal tombs from the Three Kingdoms Period in Korea. Baekje's 25th King Muryeong and his Queen were resting in this royal tomb. It was a moment that Baekje's splendid culture was finally awoken nearly 1500 years later. What's more surprising was that the intricacy and aesthetical design of metal artifacts excavated from the tomb were so superb that they did not look like they were made 1500 years ago. At the Royal Tomb of King Muryeong, visitors will be able to witness the god-given abilities of Baekje's artisans who were so skillful in dealing with metals, as well as Baekje's excellence in science and art.

Japanese Islands were colony of Baekje, Korea 왜국은 한민족 식민지2/7
broadcasted in Dec, 2003-------0:21 The discovery of the 33 ancient bronze mirrors from Baekje King temple in a Japanese village suggests that even before King Jungga the area had been under rule of Baekje. These ancient bronze mirrors are proofs of existence of last long power in the areas. 1:00 To preserve those 33 bronze mirrors, the Nangochon villiagers have built a museum named 'West Jungchangwon 正倉院' 1:10 Then, who were the powerful group that have left those bronze mirrors to their descendants? Apart from Nangochon and Gigojung villages, there many legends of Baekje Kings' rules over these areas are told. 1:30 Another Baekje King passed through this mountain path. 50km southwards from Gijojung, in the site known to be the place where they received their Baekje King is a temple. Even today, people who believe in the King's holy power serve drinks and money with full honors. On the outskirts of the Village, there a stone monument has been built to announce the death of the King. The King was drowned in a well (that is said to be here) while racing a horse. 2:17 First, the villagers have never dug a well. Second, they never kept the same breed of horse that the King rode. No one has broken those two rules. 2:35 Just until 2 years ago, before the discovery of old manuscript writing exactly about the arrival of Baekje King, for the Danojung villagers, descendants of the King, the story of the King was a legend. Seeing the discovery of Baekje Kings' existence in ...

The owners of the song may have been the first Baekje immigrants that had moved to the southern tip of China (modern China) from the thShandong peninsula. 1:17 interview with a Chinese professor : ...Therefore, there must have Baekje people lived in this area. 1:45 In China, .... Eastern China was part of Baekje, Korea 중공(中共)은 한민족 식민지 5/7
broadcasted in Dec, 2003 0:24 Record about Baekje in section 'Baekje' in [History of southern dynasty (Nan Qi), 479~502] : Hundreds of thousands of Northern dynasty mounted troops attacked Baekje and broke through borders of Baekje. Emperor Dongsung ( ? ~ 501) ordered Sabummyong, Chansuryu, Hanraegon and Mokanna to counterattack Northern Dynasty and they triumphed.(note :Northern dynasty (of the Xianbei, 386∼534) 0:46 As well known, the Northern dynasty (of the Xianbei) was occupying the northen half of Modern China. Then how could the war between the Northern Dynasty (of the Xianbei) and Baekje (that was known to exist in the southern Korean peninsula) occur? 1:00 If the war between the two occurred there were only two possible ways : 1st. using the sea-route, 2nd. using the land-route with the help of Koguryeo allowing the Northern dynasty troops to pass through its land. But none of the two could be possible : 1st, the Northern Dynasty troops were mounted troops, not naval troops ; 2nd, there was no reason Koguryeo (powerful empire then) to allow the Northern Dynasty to pass through its territory. 1:37 The war described in [History of Southern Dynasty (Nan Qi)] was only possible when the two dynasties, Baekje and Northern dynasty, shared a common border, which means Baekje existed in modern Chinese land. 2:34 Records about existence of Baekje in modern Chinese lands are found in many Chinese history books such as [History of Song], [History of Southern dynasty/Nan Qi ...

Japan and China were part of Baekje, Korea / 倭寇(왜구)는 한민족 식민지 4/7
Broadcasted in Dec, 2003----------0:01 What history does the name 'Baekje-rae' have behind it? According to the record kept by one villager, the first Baekje man to "Baekje-rae" (in Japan) was Il-la, Baekje Dalsol (minister). This means that high ranking official of mainland Baekje was appointed to the ruler over overseas territory (the Japanese islands). 0:15 Through the old record, we can see that the Japanese region was ruled directly by mainland Baekje. 0:35 The Hunayama grave is representative historic site in the Danama region and it is strong archaeological evidence that Danama region of the Japanese islands was one of 22 Baekje Damnos. 0:51 In the grave estimated to be built during 5C, the oldest and the largest amount of historic remains in Japanese history were excavated. Internal structure of the grave (stone chambers in line) and the excavated relics from it were exactly Baekje style. 1:15 More noticealbe fact about the grave is that the excavated relics show that owner of the grave was a person of high status. Sword with silver inlay Inscription is a symbol of ruling power. The excavated relics from Hunayma grave look so similar to the ones from Baekje royal tombs. 1:33 These Gilt-bronze shoes excavated from Hunayama grave have the same design to Baekje royal tomb site. 1:58 The Hunayama one look so similar to Iksan city one, proving the owner of the gilt-bronze crown from Hunayama grave (Japan) was Baekje royal family member. 2:10 However, the outer ...

Eastern China was colony of Baekje, Korea 中共 중공은 한민족 식민지 6/7
0:19 Baekje Taesus (provincial governors) appear South of Yoseo regions too, which means Baekje ruled China's eastern costal regions. 0:43 From the Ancient times, today's Eastern China was Dongyi territory and even before the foundation of Dangun Joseon, Eastern China was closely related with us Koreans, which meant that we had a very solid foundation to expand our territory to Eastern China. When Baekje took Eastern China, it was very tumultuous time in the history of the continent. In the lands so many different dynasties rose and fell, and the land got attacked a lot by so many northern peoples and the northern conquerors repeated to build new dynasties and fall in the modern Chinese land. Baekje took advantage of the chaotic situation of the land. 1:31 Where is 'Jinpyung' that was ruled by Baekje Taesu? Interview with an Ethnic Korean professor, Whang Hee-Bock, Central Ethnic University of China : The first record that Baekje ruled "Jinpyung province" appears in [History of Song]. According to historical records 'Jinpyung' is modern Guǎngxī province of China. The exact location of Jinpyung is north-eastward from Namryung (Capital of Guongxi province) 3:22 We could find the word "Baekje Hyang" in the list of names of villages in Guongxi province (authorized document). In the Baekje region, there is a village called "Baekje Hur", the central area of the region. "Hur" means "a ruin" and literally "Baekje Hur" means "the ruins of Baekje dynasty" . In modern Han Chinese ...
