Stop ceasefire violation: IAF chief warns Pak
A firm answer to Pak aggression along the LoC. In a question posed by NewsX, the IAF Chief NAK Browne has warned Pakistan of military consequences if it doesn't abstain from further provocations on the LoC. This is the strongest response yet from India on the brutal beheading of two Indian soldiers by the Pakistan Army. For more log on to www.newsx.com

Salt of the Earth-The Indian Air Force Story.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Raj and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. After India achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1947, the Royal Indian Air Force served the Dominion of India, with the prefix being dropped when India became a republic in 1950. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay -- the invasion of Goa, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus and Operation Poomalai. Apart from conflicts, the IAF has been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions. The President of India Pranab Mukherjee serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the IAF. The Chief of Air Staff, an Air Chief Marshal (ACM), is a four-star commander and commands the Air Force. There is never more than one serving ACM at any given time in the IAF. One officer Arjan Singh, DFC has been conferred the rank of Marshal of the Air Force, a five-star rank and the officer serves as the ceremonial chief.

Indian Air Force HD 2013
Go To: secularphotography.blogspot.in The Indian Air Force has aircraft and equipment of Russian (erstwhile Soviet Union), British, French, Israeli, US and Indian origins with Russian aircraft dominating its inventory. HAL produces some of the Russian and British aircraft in India under licence. The exact number of aircraft in service with the Indian Air Force cannot be determined with precision from open sources. Various reliable sources provide notably divergent estimates for a variety of high-visibility aircraft.

Superior Media - Wangan Meet III 2011

IAF marks 80th Air Force Day - NewsX
The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 80th birthday today. Military pomp and ceremony will mark the Air Force Day parade at the Hindon airbase on the outskirts of Delhi. The Air Force will line up the pick of its fleet to display its war waging potential. This display of military might coincides with the 50th anniversary of India's humiliation at the hands of China in the 1962 War. The Air Force Chief NAK Browne has already created a flutter... by blaming India's defeat on the decision of the Jawaharlal Nehru Government....not to use the Indian Air Force against the Chinese. This is the first time that India's military leadership has so openly and directly criticised the political leadership for war-time failure. For more log on to www.newsx.com

Indian Air Force - LCA Tejas [Full HD]
The HAL Tejas is a lightweight multirole fighter developed by India. It is a tailless, compound delta-wing design powered by a single engine. It came from the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, which began in the 1980s to replace India's ageing MiG-21 fighters. Later the LCA was officially named "Tejas", meaning "Radiance" by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Tejas has the delta wing configuration, with no tailplanes or foreplanes, and features a single vertical fin. It integrates technologies such as relaxed static stability, fly-by-wire flight control system, advanced digital cockpit, multi-mode radar, integrated digital avionics system, advanced composite material structures and a flat rated engine. The IAF is reported to have a requirement for 200 single-seat and 20 two-seat conversion trainers, while the Indian Navy may order up to 40 single-seaters to replace its Sea Harrier FRS.51 and Harrier T.60. The Tejas achieved a speed of over 1350 kilometres per hour (840 mph) during its sea level flight trials, thus becoming the second supersonic fighter developed indigenously by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited after the HAL Marut.[8] The Tejas was cleared in January 2011 for use by Indian Air Force pilots. It will not reach final operational clearance until 2014 General characteristics Crew: 1 Length: 13.20 m (43 ft 4 in) Wingspan: 8.20 m (26 ft 11 in) Height: 4.40 m (14 ft 9 in) Wing area: 38.4 m² (413 ft²) Empty weight: 6560 kg (14460 lb) Loaded weight ...
