Royal Navy Reserve - RNR100 Centennial Parade - Heart of Oak
This video is an extract from the RNR100 DVD. It was filmed on Horse Guards Parade Ground in London.
All in the video are volunteer reservists. The Guard spent 9 days being trained by the best Ceremonial Training Team the Royal Navy had.
Many thanks to CPO "Blood" Read, and PO Simmerman for their efforts.
The band played Heart of Oak for the whole period while the Ceremonial Guard was 'marching past' the Sovereign (represented by Prince Charles), hence why they don't play any other music while the 'Guard of Honour' is marching past.
Its the same if a Royal Marine Guard had been marching past the music would have been 'Life on an Ocean Wage' for 5 minutes.
