James "Jamie" Rudolph Palumbo, Baron Palumbo of Southwark (London, 6 June 1963) is a British entrepreneur, author and life peer. He was listed in the Sunday Times Rich List 2015 in 340th place with an estimated fortune of £300 million. The eldest son of property developer Peter Palumbo, Baron Palumbo, Jamie was born in London and educated at Eton College and Worcester College, Oxford.
From 1984-92, Jamie Palumbo worked in the City of London for Merrill Lynch and Morgan Grenfell in equity capital markets and property finance.
In September 1991 Palumbo, together with his school friend Humphrey Waterhouse and DJ Justin Berkmann, founded the Ministry of Sound nightclub in South London. Initially Palumbo lost control of the club to drug dealers, and a fight to regain control ensued.
Ministry of Sound has expanded into a number of areas including recorded music, live events, digital media and merchandise. Ministry of Sound Recordings has sold over 55 million albums and is the largest independent music company in the world. In 2001 Palumbo sold 16% of the business to 3i for £24 million.
David Christopher "Dave" Palumbo (born February 17, 1968) is a retired American bodybuilder. He competed in his first bodybuilding competition in 1990, an NPC national competition in New York City, where he placed 6th place weighing in at 168 lbs. In just 5 years, Palumbo would gain 70 lbs and win the overall at the 1995 NPC Junior Nationals. His best placing in competition came at the 2003 NPC USA Championships where he finished 2nd place in the Super Heavyweight class.
Palumbo is the former Editor-in-Chief of Muscular Development Magazine. Today, Palumbo is the CEO and Founder of RxMuscle.com and owner of Species Nutrition. Palumbo is also contest prep coach for several NPC and IFBB bodybuilding, fitness, and figure competitors. He is known for his low carb approach to preparing his athletes for competition. Palumbo is also the founder of the S.M.A.R.T. personal training certification program.
Dave Palumbo’s athletic beginning did not start in bodybuilding. He was a long distance runner throughout his youth and onto college. At the age of 22, Palumbo began to lift weights and in 6 months of training he competed in his first bodybuilding competition at the 1990 NPC Natural New York City weighing in at 168 lb. where he took 6th place in the middleweight class.
James is a common English surname and given name:
James or James City may also refer to:
Kevin Mark Levrone (born July 16, 1964) is a former American IFBB professional bodybuilder, IFBB Hall of Famer. blogger, musician and actor. During his professional career Kevin competed in 67 IFBB Professional contests. He has won 23 Pro Shows, holding the record of the most wins as an IFBB professional until Ronnie Coleman set the new record in 2004.
Kevin Levrone was born on July, 16, 1964 and was the youngest of six children. He had a country upbringing with a lot of property, pets and animals around. His family - the Levrones, were the close Italian family. Kevin started lifting being a child. Once he was completely amazed how big his cousin Stoney was when he came back from Marine Corps, and Kevin wanted to be just like him. His older brothers Ray and Chris had a 110 pound sets in their bedroom, so he started lifting with them when he was 11. Kevin remembers that he was always stronger than anyone else, he was always good at lifting.
The first bodybuilder who inspired Levrone was Eddie Robinson, he visited NPC Maryland as guest (which Kevin Levrone has won by the way). During the competition, Eddie Robinson had a little chat with Kevin, he said after that- “Now that’s how a professional bodybuilder looks like!”. Kevin started picking up magazines and learned about Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney, and all other top bodybuilders back in ‘80s. He studied Lee’s workout routines, his diet, his posing, and all important details, because Lee Haney was the best in what he did. Kevin said that “Pumping Iron” with Arnold Schwarzenegger brought in a big turning point for a lot of people. Arnold brought fun to the game, he made it look so easy.

Ministry of Sound started out as a nightclub in London, but has since diversified into a multimedia entertainment business. In addition to the nightclub, it is an independent record label and worldwide events brand with a radio station and other media outlets.
Ministry of Sound began as the idea of Justin Berkmann. Inspired by New York’s Paradise Garage, Berkmann set out to create London’s first club devoted to the American house music scenes of 1980s New York, Chicago and Detroit. As opposed to striking a balance between the typical hallmarks of a live music venue, Ministry of Sound was conceived as an arena purely dedicated to sound. Berkmann stated: "My concept for Ministry was purely this: 100% sound system first, lights second, design third (in that order); the reverse of everyone else’s idea."
Berkmann was introduced to James Palumbo, who was working in property finance at the time, by Humphrey Waterhouse to realise the concept. The site, a disused bus garage, was located in Elephant & Castle in Southwark, London. The club opened on 21 September 1991.
Description: In Meet the Author, the BBC's Nick Higham speaks to James Palumbo about his second novel, Tancredi.
Tancredi was born on the same day that scientists discovered a small star they named Surprise. This star, so insignificant it went unnoticed for millennia, revealed it would develop into a supernova and become the instrument of Armageddon across the Universe. Humankind has become so riddled with the disease of short-termism that it ignores its fate. Tancredi decides to make it his mission to save the Earth. Made rich by his invention of the MoronOmeter, he buys a ticket for the space ship Invincible on its maiden voyage through the galaxy. It is a decision that will change everything. James Palumbo provides an uncompromising and brutal satire on the philosophy of short-termism, which has polluted every aspect of our lives and is bringing the world to the brink of destruction. B...

On the day Tancredi was born, scientists discovered a new star. They called it Surprise. They should have called in Armageddon. The new book from James Palumbo is an uncompromising and brutal satire on the philosophy of short-termism, which has polluted every aspect of our lives and is bringing the world to the brink of destruction. Beautifully illustrated and reminiscent of The Little Prince and Gulliver's Travels, TANCREDI is in turn shocking and profound, undercut with the dark humour that made his first book TOMAS so scandalous and successful.

http://billypalumbo.com Through a series of looping, black and white shots, the life and legacy of Boston’s notorious James Michael Curley is interrogated, alongside the traditions of history-telling, utility of the past, and commodification of memory. Just as James Michael Curley challenged and redefined the dominant politics of early 20th century Boston; just as Curley’s legacy has been simplified and sanitized; just as history in general blunts and sculpts facts to meet an end; this film challenges narrativization, chronology, linearity, and objectivity in history-telling not in a search for truth but a quest for questions.
