Three Basic Handgun Types
A basic look at the three most common types of handguns: single action, double action, and semi-automatic. The firearms are a 2nd Generation Colt SAA in .45 Colt, a beautiful .44 magnum 629 in 3" barrel, and a Colt Series '80 Model 1991 in 45 ACP. This is mostly for the novice shooter, the beginner. Based on questions I get, I know I assume more knowledge than some of our newest shooters possess yet. I'll try to do more videos of this nature and even create a PLAYLIST for BASICS. I think we do a lot to help out new shooters, but I realize that I assume a certain level of knowledge in most of my videos and likely talk over some people's heads. Of course, when one is 6'8", he's always talking over people's heads. :-) By the way, I think people totally new to guns get a pretty good idea about what these three main action types are about. If you want to get more complex, add your own approach, or expand upon it, please help yourself to doing a video on it yourself.

.22 Handgun for Self-Defense? CCI 40 gr Mini-Mag Test
If you were to choose a .22 LR handgun for personal defense, primary carry or backup, what type of ammo do you think is most effective? This is the first in a series of ammo tests with a short barrel .22 semi-auto; Ruger SR22P with a 3.5" barrel. I am using the CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain copperplated solid in this test, distance of 10 feet with the SIM-TEST media (calibrated ballistic gel) and 4 layers of denim per IWBA protocol. My primary objective with this ammo choice is to get an idea of penetration possibilities compared to JHP's tested in larger calibers, plus a point of comparison for .22 LR hollowpoints that will be tested in the future. While the .22 LR is essentially the "bottom floor" or last resort in caliber choice for self-defense, the compact nature of these handguns combined with low recoil and shootability could make it a viable choice for some folks. As noted in the video, I am NOT advocating this option, simply providing data that might help you make a decision. Choosing the Right Concealed Carry Handgun for You
Choosing a concealed carry firearm can be a daunting task, often involving trips to various gun stores, consultations with friends that own firearms, late-night internet forum browsing, and possibly asking a spouse how much money one is allowed to spend. Along the way, various rules might be set - "it has to be in a caliber starting with 4," or "only a revolver is always reliable," or "You can't spend more than $300 on something silly like that." When I worked in a gun store (there's a phrase I don't like to repeat often), I encountered this all the time. I would often have to help someone select a firearm based on arbitrary rules that Uncle Jerry had set forth - despite Uncle Jerry's complete lack of knowledge. With those experiences in mind, I've decided to create a video on the subject, being as brief as possible while still explaining my opinions. Keep in mind that they're opinions - feel free to seek out other advice - just take Uncle Jerry's with a grain of salt.

Shooting suppressed handguns in a house
UPDATE: A night version muzzle flash demonstration of this video has been filmed as a result of your "likes" on this video. Read below for the link! Night version: www.youtube.com A quick demonstration on how loud a suppressed pistol would sound in your house should you need to use it in a home defense situation. A suppressed pistol is way more beneficial than a non-suppressed pistol. You will preserve your hearing, no muzzle flash (making you a target) and wont "shell shock" yourself in the confines of your home while shooting a loud disorienting cartridge in the dead of night. It gives you the edge in what could be the most important fight of your life. *Its 30 degress outside and 65 in the house, hence why I'm wearing a hoodie indoors. I had the window open.....remember. lol THUMBS UP THE VIDEO IF YOU WANT ME TO DO A NIGHT TIME VERSION VIDEO TO SEE HOW WELL THE SUPPRESSOR HIDES THE MUZZLE FLASH. IF I HAVE ENOUGH INTEREST I'LL DO IT ONCE THE VIDEO HITS 1000LIKES.

4 Handguns Found In School, AR-15 Left In Car According To Several Federal And CT State Officials
At this point, the story was that the 4 handguns were found inside the school. During this juncture, they are still going with the part about how the Bushmaster was left in the trunk of the car the shooter drove there. The AR-15 Bushmaster being found in the trunk of the shooter's car was the story for the first entire day and most of the day after if not 2 days after (I will have to confirm that, but I think it was 2 days after), before they decided to do something about the fact that their story wasn't adding up. Especially when the medical examiner came out and said that all the victims suffered rifle wounds. This report of the 4 handguns and rifle being in the trunk of the car is confirmed by SEVERAL Connecticut State and Federal officials. Sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left it doing. This is what's called not being able to get your story straight, and usually indicates deception being used. Gun Inconsistencies in Sandy Hook School Mass Shooting www.youtube.com

TruGlo TFO Handgun Night Sights
Review of the TruGlo TFO night sight. Please note, these are MUCH brighter in darkness than they appear on the video; my camera is not going to replicate human vision in low light. This seems to be a popular selection for a handgun night sight, but there are clearly pros and cons to the choice. The Meprolight TruDot is offered as a comparison (also brighter in person), and the Surefire XD200 weapons light makes a brief appearance as well.

GLOCK 32: .357 SIG HANDGUN REVIEW
This HD video of the Glock 32 includes several shooting segments (including POV) and a brief tabletop review. There is also footage showing the case support in the G32 barrel. The G32 is the compact Glock model for .357 SIG, a caliber designed to replicate .357 Magnum short barrel revolver performance in a semiautomatic handgun. Typical .357 SIG velocities are 1350 fps for 125 grain ammo and 1250 fps for 140 and 147 grain loads. The .357 SIG is often referred to as a "9mm magnum". My perceived recoil places it between a 9mm +P and moderate to hot .40 S&W; load, which should be in the comfort zone for experienced shooters. I believe that .357 SIG recoil is manageable with good accuracy if proper techniques are utilized. The .357 SIG cartridge, released in 1994, was a collaborative project between Sig Sauer and Federal Cartridge. Compared to other "service calibers", the .357 SIG has a small but loyal consumer following in addition to being adopted by several law enforcement agencies in the US, both at the state and federal level. The .357 SIG is currently used by the US Secret Service and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. This Glock 32 will be used for testing of .357 SIG JHP ammo in a ballistic gel format. As of the upload date of this video, there are very few ballistic gel tests online for .357 SIG. Semi-Automatic Handgun Basics
I have received a few questions about general use and safety in regard to semi automatic handguns. While not all semi autos are the same, many of them have similar characteristics. There are a million different opinions and preferences on this topic, and there are many items left to cover... if you have a helpful comment please do put it below. And yes, I think I say "clip" in the video instead of "magazine". Too many video games...

Review: the Dardick Model 1500 handgun - a magazine-fed revolver
SHORT FUNCTION DEMO VIDEO: www.youtube.com I DO NOT SHOOT THE GUN IN THIS VIDEO. If all you care about is "omg gun go bang lol!" then don't watch this video. Sorry for the length on this one. There's a lot to go over, and I trimmed it down where I could! If you're short on time, take a look at my text review on my favorite gun forum, The Firing Range: forums.somethingawful.com The Dardick 1500 is one of the most bizarre modern guns I've come across, and with only 40-50 having been made, I feel very lucky to own one. The gun was based on an interesting open chamber system, allowing it to use both a revolving cylinder AND a magazine - yes, it's a magazine fed revolver! To facilitate this, special ammo called trounds (triangle + rounds) were developed. While I like the open chamber concept in principle, the Dardick handguns were plagued with problems. They were finicky and unreliable, somewhat poorly made, and expensive. I honestly can't think of anything they do better than a decent semi-auto of the era. There were usability problems, too, and in the end, the company closed up shop after just a year of production (and 11 years of R&D;!). Eventually, I'll do what I can to make a shooting video, so please subscribe and keep an eye out for that.
