The Origin of Old English
Old English is a language closely related to Old Frisian, both forming part of the West Germanic branch of the Germanic languages, a sub-group of the Indo-European language family. The Proto-Indo-Europeans were the speakers of the Proto-Indo-European language (PIE). Knowledge of them comes chiefly from linguistic reconstruction. According to some archaeologists, PIE speakers cannot be assumed to have been a single, identifiable people or tribe, but were a group of loosely related populations ancestral to the later, still partially prehistoric, Bronze Age Indo-Europeans. However, this view is not shared by linguists, as proto-languages generally occupy small geographical areas over a very limited time span, and are generally spoken by close-knit communities such as a single small tribe. The following changes are known or presumed to have occurred in the history of Proto-Germanic in the wider sense from the end of Proto-Indo-European up to the point that Proto-Germanic began to break into mutually unintelligible dialects. Pre-Proto-Germanic: This stage began with the separation of a distinct speech, perhaps while still forming part of the Proto-Indo-European dialect continuum. Early Proto-Germanic: This stage began its evolution as a form of centum PIE that had lost its laryngeals and had five long and six short vowels, as well as one or two overlong vowels. The consonant system was still that of PIE minus palatovelars and laryngeals, but the loss of syllabic resonants ...

Anthem of Friesland (Netherlands)
"De âlde Friezen" (West Frisian for "The Old Frisians") is the anthem of the Friesland province of the Netherlands. Lyrics by Eeltsje Halbertsma / Jacobus van Loon. Music by Heinrich Christian Schnoor. Lyrics: Frysk bloed tsjoch op! Wol noris brûze en siede, en bûnzje troch ús ieren om! Flean op! Wy sjonge it bêste lân fan d'ierde, it Fryske lân fol eare en rom. Chorus (2x) Klink dan en daverje fier yn it rûn, Dyn âlde eare, o Fryske grûn! Translation: Frisian blood, thicken up! Now rise, foam and seethe, and thud on through our veins! Fly up! We sing of the best land in the Earth, the Frisian land full of honour and pride. Chorus (2x) Sound then and thunder it far and wide, Thine old honour, oh Frisian ground!

Музыка для Души ♥♥♥ Guests from the Heaven ♥♥♥♥♥ Music for the Soul
From Album "Robo Colour World" , song of ArkGrb www.emusic.com The modern English word heaven is derived from the earlier (Middle English) spelling heven ; this in turn was developed from the previous Old English form heofon. Heofon was being used in reference to the Christianized "place where God dwells", but originally, it had signified "sky, firmament" (eg in Beowulf, c. 725). The English term has cognates in the other Germanic languages: Old Saxon heƀan "sky, heaven", Middle Low German heven "sky", Old Icelandic himinn "sky, heaven", Gothic himins; and those with a variant final : Old Frisian himel, himul "sky, heaven", Old Saxon/Old High German himil, Dutch hemel, and modern German Himmel. All of these have been derived from a reconstructed Proto-Germanic form *Hemina-. In many languages, the word for "heaven" is the same as the word for "sky". Religions that speak about heaven differ on how (and if) one gets into it, typically in the afterlife. In many religions, entrance to Heaven is conditional on having lived a "good life" (within the terms of the spiritual system) or "accepting God into your heart." A notable exception to this is the 'sola fide' belief of many mainstream Protestant Christians, which teaches that one does not have to live a perfectly "good life," but that one must accept (believe and put faith in) Jesus Christ as one's saviour, and then Jesus Christ will assume the guilt of one's sins; believers are believed to be forgiven regardless of any good ...

Hellfire Rain On You!
The modern English word Hell is derived from Old English hel, helle (about 725 AD to refer to a nether world of the dead) reaching into the Anglo-Saxon pagan period, and ultimately from Proto-Germanic *halja, meaning "one who covers up or hides something".[3] The word has cognates in related Germanic languages such as Old Frisian helle, hille, Old Saxon hellja, Middle Dutch helle (modern Dutch hel), Old High German helle (Modern German Hölle), and Gothic halja.[3] Subsequently, the word was used to transfer a pagan concept to Christian theology and its vocabulary (however, for the Judeo-Christian origin of the concept see Gehenna). The English word hell has been theorized as being derived from Old Norse Hel. Among other sources, the Poetic Edda, compiled from earlier traditional sources in the 13th century, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson, provide information regarding the beliefs of the Norse pagans, including a being named Hel, who is described as ruling over an underworld location of the same name.

National Anthem Frisiat
The national anthem of the Frisian can be traced to a poem entitled "De âlde Friezen" (The Old Frisians) by Eeltsje Halbertsma, written in the early 1800s in the language of the Frisian people, Frysk. Jacobus van Loon subsequently reduced the number of verses of the poem into the form that now appears as the anthem of the Frisian people. It is unknown if the song was specially written to fit Schnoor's "Vom hoh'n Olymp", a song in use in the area since the 1790s, but Halbertsma was no doubt familiar with the melody. While never having been officially adopted as the anthem of the northern Dutch province of Frisia, tradition makes it serve as such. it is played at cultural and sporting events held in Frisia and is regarded as the Frisian anthem throughout the Frisian nation.

Part II - Q&A; Webinar Straightness Training - Marijke de Jong
academicartofriding.com Questions & Answers Webinar with Marijke de Jong about Straightness Training The questions are: Hi Marijke-thank you so much for making so much information available to us. How can a horse be "straight" on a circle? Thank you! Jamie Hi Marijke, first thank you for all I learned from you. Although you already explained it: Wy do the curb and the snaffle bit work so different. I didn´t understand that. You said how they work but I don´t understand why. Can you explain that again please? And how can I train my eye to see when the horse is falling on the inside or outside shoulder? If this is not really obvious this makes me problems. Thanks a lot for all what you are doing Viviane Hi Marijke! First of all, I love your explanations about Straightness Training. It`s so important for the horses health. Now my question. I got recently a 6 year old Frisian Mare, a big, sporty type (1,68 m at the withers and long long legs). She is not ridden much yet, and had a foal last year. Raina is uneven at her back. The left side seems to be lower than the right side. When you sit on her, the saddle goes automatically to the left side, which causes problems for her and for me (i get also back pains on my left side). She can`t step so much under with her left foot, it`sa different from nearly a hoof length. She seems to be stiv, has no happyness at work. Hardly to move forward. (in the past she was ridden with too short reins, so she has a wrong neck position) I ...

Twirre and his new friend
Twirre, a 1 year old English Bull Terrier, is playing in the dunes in Holland with his new (girl)friend a 1 year old Frisian Stabydog (fryske stabyhoun / Friese stabij) called 'Mara'. There is a bit of ice where they slide over every now and again. They sure had a blast. Sorry for the low quality, it's filmed by my mobile phone.

I know the feeling... [of Love] ♥ (HD)
Hey Guys This is me and my 5 (nearly 6) years old Frisian gelding Raban. I own him now for nearly exactly 2 Years and we learned everything on our own (Of course I had lots of riding lessons until half a year ago (since that not anymore, pm if you want to know why) and I got a Teacher for ground work now, I love her J ) I'm just 16 years old and I don't ride professionally -- I know that Raban and me still have to learn such a lot -- but we are getting better and better. We found our way -- Riding on bittles Bridle & Groundwork Our work is based on Trust and Love. Tell me that I'm not good enough for him -- tell me that we won'treach ANYTHING on this way, that I will ruin this lovely Horse. Tell me whatever you want- I don't care. I've heard this things a million times, but I know it better -- I love this Horse. And this Horse loves me, you maybe can't see it but we two can feel it -- Love. And there were always some people who stood behind me, who helped us. And I just want to say 'thank you' to them. I want to say Thank you to my Parents, My Riding & Groundwork teacher and exspecially to my best Friends. And I want to say thank you to my subbers. I got now nearly 1000 subbers and that means a lot -- It shows me how many People like what I do with my Horse. At least I want to say Thank you to my Horse. Because he is everything so me.
