SXSW 2009 Film Trailer: Creative Nonfiction
Ella is a college student, but she's more focused on her pseudo-romance with her dorm mate Chris than on the screenplay she's supposed to be finishing for her Creative Writing class. Reality and fiction are indistinguishable as she tries and fails to differentiate her script from her increasingly awkward social life.

Creative Nonfiction - A Conversation with Lena Dunham
Lena Dunham chats about her first feature, Creative Nonfiction. It's a semi-autobiographical story about a college student who, while struggling to finish a screenplay for her Creative Nonfiction class, experiences major awkwardness with her dorm mate Chris, which naturally complicates everything. An inspirational interview for anybody who has a love affair with that elusive, complicated fellow, the low-budget film. Lena's second feature, Tiny Furniture, won the juried narrative film prize at SXSW 2010 - www.nytimes.com

Creative Non-Fiction: A Wyoming Signatures Interview with Andy Fitch
Wyoming Signatures' Jeff Lockwood probes the emerging literary genre of creative nonfiction in an interview with Andy Fitch, who is a new faculty member in UW's program in creative writing as well as a celebrated and accomplished voice in the field of creative non-fiction. On the one hand, we have journalists who give us the unvarnished reports of the world, and on the other hand we have fiction writers who give us imaginative accounts of human experience. Might there be a place for something in between? That niche is now being filled by creative non-fiction. Interview filmed in the UW Television studios for Wyoming Signatures in November 2009. Aired on Wyoming Public Televsion, as part of Wyoming Signatures. Producer: Mary Jung; Director: Ali Grossman; Cameras:Steve Costin and Ben Froidevaux; Audio: Norm Mabbitt

Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.

SILENCE OF DEATH directed by Mani Nasry (16MM FILM) 1ST YEAR RYERSON UNIVERSITY STUDENT FILM
IMDB PAGE
www.imdb.me/maninasry
This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.

The PrismGR2011 - Project teaser
The Prism GR2010 is a collective documentation of Greece the winter of 2010. A multimedia experiment exploring new formats of non-fiction narratives and multimedia journalism.
The Prism is the creation of Nikos Katsaounis and Nina Maria Paschalidou, both documentary filmmakers, producers, and friends.
In the winter of 2010, with Greece in the midst of a financial and social meltdown, Nina and Nikos returned home after having lived abroad for many years.
Their desire was to tell the story of the tormented country they witnessed through a new type of narrative. Through a process of creative collaboration and documentation, they put together a group of 14 photojournalists and videographers, mentoring and enabling them to make the transition to a multimedia storyteller.
Here you will find the outcome of the experiment: 27 multimedia stories, as echoed through the voices of people from various walks of life that have been affected by the crisis. In this critical time, we have the capacity to share stories from different perspectives like never before. The Prism GR2010 fuses these stories together with the hope that they allow us to reflect upon who we are.
The films will be gradually uploaded every week. Later this year, a feature-length documentary film will be woven together from all the short multimedia stories in a first attempt at open-source documentary filmmaking.
Please sign up to our mailing list to get updates of when the multimedia stories are uploaded. Become a fan on our facebook page and tell your friends if you like what you see.

Lena Dunham on "Creative Nonfiction"
Introduction to CREATIVE NONFICTION (2009) - College student Ella is completely focused on her ambiguously romantic relationship with her dorm-mate, Chris. She is so consumed by trying to understand his behavior that she's neglecting the screenplay she is supposed to write in order to graduate. When she does sit down to work on the script, her increasingly awkward social life bleeds onto the page and her work begins to express her true feelings about her own situation. [Source: IMDb] Trailer: bit.ly IMDb page: imdb.to What is creative nonfiction? Creative nonfiction is a genre of writing that uses literary styles and techniques to create factually accurate narratives. Creative nonfiction contrasts with other nonfiction, such as technical writing or journalism, which is also rooted in accurate fact, but is not primarily written in service to its craft. As a genre, creative nonfiction is still relatively young, and is only beginning to be scrutinized with the same critical analysis given to fiction and poetry.
