35 years of LBC Radio Jingles
35 years of LBC Radio Jingles
To celebrate 35 years of LBC, take a look back at some of the jingles used over the 35 years from the London Broadcasting Company to London's Biggest Conversation. 1973 - 2008. 1973 - where it all starts: "This is London Broadcasting, the news and information voice of independent radio". 1974 brought the famous Jeff Wayne jingles, with the distinctive "LBC" trio of notes, where 'News Come First'. Then onto more Jeff Wayne variations of 1980, 1982 and 1984, before David Arnold's 1986 jingles. Gone was the familiar, and recognisable 3 "LBC" notes. 1989 saw the frequency split, with the advent of LBC Crown FM on 97.3 and London Talkback Radio on 1152AM. Crown FM did not work, and the station became unprofitable. By mid 1990, the Crown FM name was dropped in favour of LBC Newstalk. In October 1994 the LBC name dissapared from the airwaves, when the Radio Authority did not renew its license. The stations were renamed to London News 97.3 and London News Talk 1152, and along came a brand new sound with it. During 1996 the LBC brand made a return to the airwaves, along with the familiar station sound. This was updated in 2000. In January 2003, LBC swapped the AM and FM services. Rolling news moved over to AM to become LBC News 1152 and the phone-in element moved to FM becomming LBC 97.3FM. 2005 and David Lloyd became the station's MD. Along with new jingles, he brought London "entertaining" conversation. 2006 and 2007 saw minor updates to the jingles, but still retaining the ...

America Freedom to Fascism Director's Authorized Version
America Freedom to Fascism Director's Authorized Version
freedomtofascism.com | http | The Film Determined to find the law that requires American citizens to pay income tax, producer Aaron Russo ("The Rose," "Trading Places") set out on a journey to find the evidence. This film which is neither left, nor right-wing is a startling examination of government. It exposes the systematic erosion of civil liberties in America since 1913 when the Federal Reserve system was fraudulently created. Through interviews with US Congressmen, a former IRS Commissioner, former IRS and FBI agents and tax attorneys and authors, Russo connects the dots between money creation, federal income tax, and the national identity card which becomes law in May 2008. This ID card will use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips which are essentially homing devices used to track people. This film shows in great detail and undeniable facts that America is moving headlong into a fascist police state. Wake up! ------ Dear Lovers of Liberty, the struggle is just beginning! Get ready... Are you aware by May of 2008 the law will require you to carry a national identification card? Are you aware that there are plans being developed to have all Americans embedded with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) computer chip under their skin so they can be tracked wherever they go? Are you aware the Supreme Court has ruled that the government has no authority to impose a direct unapportioned tax on the labor of the American people, and the 16th Amendment does not give ...

Feargal Sharkey - A Good Heart
Feargal Sharkey - A Good Heart en.wikipedia.org Feargal Sharkey (born Sean Feargal Sharkey, 13 August 1958, Derry, Northern Ireland)[1] is an Irish singer, who first found fame as the lead vocalist of pop punk band The Undertones, famous for the hit single "Teenage Kicks". Since the end of his recording career he has worked in the business side of music and held several leadership roles in the music industry. The Undertones (1976-1983) He was a co-founder of The Undertones at their inception in 1976.[2] As the singer, his high, tremulous voice with its undisguised Derry accent was considered integral to the band's sound. In the 1970s they played in many locations throughout Northern Ireland, including the Flamingo Ballroom in Ballymena. The Undertones had several UK hits with songs such as "Here Comes The Summer", "My Perfect Cousin", "Wednesday Week" and "It's Going To Happen". The band split in 1983 citing musical differences, with Sharkey pursuing a solo career and other members of the band forming That Petrol Emotion the following year. John Peel famously said in an interview, "'Teenage Kicks' came on the radio, and I had to pull the car over to the side of the road. There's nothing you could add to it or subtract from it that would improve it." The song was played at Peel's funeral in 2004, which Sharkey attended. Before his solo career took off, he was also the singer of the one-shot group The Assembly with ex-Yazoo and Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke (pre-Erasure ...
