What's going on in Iran? (2) - June 2009 - Green Revolution

Real-time news at: twitter.com Transcript: It is now beyond doubt that the presidential elections were faked. Despite bans, mass demonstrations still continue every day. In Tehran alone, up to 2 million protesters were seen. They are demanding the removal of the current government and its oppressive branches. The Iranian regime continues to crack down against protesters. Basij militia have shot protesters dead in the street. Hundreds are arrested every day. Rumors of torture persist. Tehran University has been raided. Students have been rounded up. There are many signs this is a coup, trying to radicalise Iran. Foreign Hizbullah soldiers have been spotted posing as riot police. Iranian TV is actively spreading fake news. Violence is incited by plain-clothes agents. Footage is miscaptioned to elicit government support. All other media is suppressed. However the free exchange of information continues online. Protesters communicate and organize using phones, Twitter and email. Hackers inside and outside Iran have set up ...

Navras with lyrics
Juno Reactor - Navras I always wondered what that chorus sings and now when I had learnt the elements of sanskrit, I was finally able to identify it (with a little help of the internet of course:)). There remain still parts that I did not manage to discern, although I am quite sure they are not sanskrit (indeed, they may be no real language at all). The translation is mostly taken from a the source I mention at the end of the clip. However, the final chorus does not sing really the text of KaThaka, in fact the first verse is omitted which changes the meaning significantly, so I provided my own translation. I also translated the prayer to Vishnu as I could not find any reliable source.

Identify The Best Internet Source Of Info To Make Money Online
alertearnings.com Make Money Online ************************************************************************* Every industry and specialization has its' own best source of make money online info. The big challenge is for somebody who is totally new to the Internet or is seeking the information for the very first time, being able to find it. There are a few useful tips and hints that can be put into practice to make this task much easier. Before seeking info in the form of make money online tips, it is important to establish the basics from a reliable source. It is therefore important that every serious research starts at the site www.wikipedia.org. This is a well known user-created online encyclopedia that will give you key information about virtually any subject you can think of. The reason why it may be dangerous to go directly after make money online info and tips from other websites is the fact that there is no way of verifying just how accurate and reliable the tips are. However this information can still be useful if you are able to find a way of sifting through it to separate the trash from the gems. Naturally when you start off at the online encyclopedia, this becomes much easier to accomplish. After the online encyclopedia, the next stop should be a reliable articles directory that is packed with articles and info written by mostly experts on the subject of making money online. This will give any researcher lots of useful additional information before they ...

Why you should not buy Brookstone's "Frog-O-Spheres
A video I created to detail the reality of Brookstone's new "Frog-O-Sphere" or more appropriately, froggy prison. This is outlined with factual information and backed up by reputable web sites which are all identified throughout and in the credits if you wish to varify the validity. Please Brookstone, stop selling these torture chambers and please everyone else, don't buy them! If you want to do your part to stop frogs from meeting this fate, go to blog.peta2.com to take action! Also go to secure.peta.org to send an email to Brookstone CEO EDIT: Yes, as lots of people have pointed out, some of the information is quoted from wikipedia along with other sources. Yes I do understand the fact that not all information on wikipedia is correct or valid, HOWEVER, as I have repeatedly pointed out, all information has been cross referenced with AT LEAST TWO SOURCES including: aquatic biologists, university professors, breeders of Dwarf African Frogs (I do not agree with breeders on the principle of breeding, but the ones who have been doing it for a long time are very knowledgeable). Like any proper research I took nothing from just one source and all information is valid. ALSO: I welcome educated debate with reliable information to back it up. Most of the people that have challenged my information have proved nothing with a sloppy, poorly written post with no resourceful information to back it up that basically just says "nuh huh... I don't like what the professionals say so I am ...

Wikimania 2011 - 2nd day - MediaWiki development
Room: Gilboa 00:08: - How to get what you want from MediaWiki's developers Sumana Harihareswara Want improvements in the wiki software? I'll tell you how the Programrs work, what information sources they pay attention to, and seven ways for interested community members to make bigger impacts on MediaWiki development. wikimania2011.wikimedia.org 23:09 - Editing 2.0: MediaWiki's upcoming visual editor and the future of templates Brion Vibber, Neil Kandalgaonkar, Trevor Parscal A rich ecosystem of templates and extensions has made MediaWiki as used in Wikipedia and other projects incredibly rich and powerful, but has taken its toll on ease of use. This year we're changing that: we're creating a solid specification of the wiki markup and a document structure to build from it, which many editing and conversion tools will be able to use directly. We'll be demoing an early version of the visual editor built on top of this, as well as showing off testing tools that anyone can use to help identify problem pages and templates that need to be restructured to work in the future. wikimania2011.wikimedia.org 34:05 - Testing for MediaWiki Mark Hershberger, Markus Glaser, Priyanka Dhanda, Trevor Parscal One of the things that the MediaWiki software lacks and would benefit greatly from is a robust and reliable test infrastructure. This panel would discuss feasible ways to achieve better test coverage of the software and how we can encourage test driven development. wikimania2011.wikimedia ...

Get crazy with the cheese whiz!
Obama did it! Amazing! Obama's grandmother dies a day before election news.yahoo.com Intro by youtube.com Artwork in this video made with plasq.com Tons of links and info here. In all, 67% of Obama supporters say they're more excited than usual about voting, compared with 31% of McCain backers. A 54% majority of McCain voters report being less excited than usual. If there is a silver lining for McCain, it's this: At a time President Bush's approval rating is 28% and fewer Americans identify themselves with the GOP than at any time in decades, those backing the Arizona senator are likely to stick with him. What's more, they tend to be older people who reliably vote. Obama, in contrast, has inspired enormous enthusiasm among younger voters, who in the past have been less likely to show up at the polls. 4. Up for grabs: 18% of the electorate These voters are squarely in the middle. They tend to have favorable views of both candidates and are the most likely to say either would make a good president, but they aren't yet settled in their choice. They aren't paying as much attention to the campaign as the most engaged voters in the first two groups, but they're also not as disenchanted as those in the last two groups. One in four of those in this group say they're undecided about whom to support, and the rest say they might change their mind before Election Day. This battleground group has a GOP tilt. It includes the highest percentage of whites of any group and more of those ...

Military Remote Viewing Secrets
Professional intelligence officer with 50 years of service with the US Army, Bill Ray, talked about how he was trained to be a remote viewer at the Stanford Research Institute in the 1980s, and eventually became Commander of the unit. He also discussed the current state of remote viewing, and the various ways the technique has been used to gather intelligence, as well as how it can benefit individuals. While the military's remote viewing program was discontinued a number of years ago, during its heyday, it provided a lot of useful intel, such as locating and identifying spies, verifying sources, and monitoring Russian research, he noted. Ray was one of five military viewers personally trained by the legendary psychic Ingo Swann, who developed the technique, which involved making a sketch that puts the subject in deeper contact with a target. Swann taught viewers to avoid "analytical overlay," wherein they start to provide analysis of what they are seeing, which can contaminate their results. One of the downfalls of the military RV program was that it eventually got away from remote viewing, and started using less reliable, more esoteric methods, Ray commented. Using remote viewing in everyday life can be a useful tool-- it's like having one more sense in which to view the world, said Ray, who added that it can help bring subconscious information to the surface. Ray will be the Master of Ceremonies at the upcoming IRVA (International Remote Viewing Association) Conference ...

Cloud-Based Automated Software Reliability Services
Google Tech Talk July 22, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Professor George Candea people.epfl.ch This talk proposes cloud-based automated software reliability services (SRS), a step toward making testing and debugging of code as easy as using webmail. SRS is automatic, without human involvement from the service user's or provider's side; this is unlike today's "testing as a service" businesses, which employ humans to write tests. First, I will outline four of the SRS components we envision: a "home edition" on-demand testing service for consumers to verify the software they are about to install on their PC or mobile device; a "programmer's sidekick" enabling developers to thoroughly and promptly test their code with minimal upfront resource investment; a public "certification service," akin to Underwriters Labs, that independently assesses the reliability, safety, and security of software; and an "automated debugging" service that helps developers fix code based on bug reports from the field. Then I will present in detail execution synthesis, the technique that makes automated debugging (the latter SRS component) a reality. Given a program and a bug report, execution synthesis combines static analysis and symbolic execution to "synthesize" a thread schedule and various required program inputs that cause the reported bug to manifest. The synthesized execution can then be played back deterministically in a regular debugger, like gdb. We have found this determinism to be ...

OpenHatch: An Open Source Volunteer Opportunity Finder
Google Tech Talk April 29, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Asheesh Laroia and Raphael Krut-Landau. Hacking in the open source community isn't always warm fuzzies for everyone. Sometimes the process is just plain confusing. How do you find something rewarding to work on? Inevitable obstacles stand in between you and your desire to improve the software you use. In this talk we discuss our attempt to rethink how the open source community is organized - a website called OpenHatch.org. Learn about bitesize bugs, the volunteer opportunity finder, and the "I want to help" button. What are your thoughts on the process of taking part in open source? Whether you're a total open source beginner or a veteran, we'd love to hear what Googlers think. Asheesh Laroia is the lead engineer and data seducer at OpenHatch, and writes things down at asheesh.org. Before founding OpenHatch in 2009, he was a software engineer at Creative Commons. Raphael Krut-Landau also helped found OpenHatch, and is what is often called a user experience architect, although that is a bit much. They did all their higher education at Johns Hopkins University, and between them they have two BA's in cognitive science, an MSE in computer science (Asheesh's), and a heap of unread books on philosophy (Raphael's).

Technologically implemented in hardware complex electronic intelligence Kolchuga domestic scientific, technical and engineering solutions in the field of passive radar - is that, figuratively speaking, does not allow to sleep for developers and relevant government functionaries responsible for the introduction of modern armament, stealth technology . That is, technologies aimed at realizing a cherished dream of all the generals - to make their own planes, ships, tanks and other military equipment samples of "invisible" to the technical resources of the enemy. Nevertheless, we can change any number of any form of military equipment (such as is done in the American F-117 and B-2) that is reflected from a radar signal is active enemy dispersed in different directions, almost back in the opposite direction or applied to this sample a variety of absorbing surfaces - the energy of the same signal is converted into heat, but not one example of modern military technology in principle can not exist without its own radar. Therefore, on board each ship, aircraft, as well as in the terrestrial systems there is always a means of active radar. BEWARE of homosexuals
I come across some interesting videos in my never ending quest to bring you good people something of interest to watch and I just had to post this video as I am sure you will find it of some interest. When you think about it 1961 (when this short movie was made) was not really that long ago and it just goes to show you how educated we have become since then when it comes to stereotyping homosexuals. It is absolutely ludicrous to associate a homosexual of any gender with being a child molester, of course there could be some homosexual child molesters out there just the same as there could be straight and bisexually orientated ones. I think the funniest part is the "beware of homosexuals" bit, anyway I wont do a rave review on it and of course there is absolutely no way I am saying homosexuals are the way they are portrayed in this movie that's just ridiculous I uploaded this movie to show just how out of touch with reality society was back then when it come to homosexuality. Anyway, take a look, and there is no need to run and hide each time you see a man with a receding hairline drivin a 1959 Chevy Belair 4 door, at least I think that is what model it is? remember I am in AU. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lets see what wiki has to say on homosexuality ....... Homosexuality is romantic or sexual attraction or behavior between members of the same sex or gender. As an orientation ...
