Sean Gilbert

Sean Gilbert (born April 10, 1970) is a former professional American football defensive tackle who was selected by the Los Angeles Rams as the third overall pick of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played college football at University of Pittsburgh.

Early life

Gilbert played football for the Aliquippa Quips. As a senior Gilbert was a Parade Magazine All-America and the USA Today Prep Defensive Player of the Year and the Associated Press named him to its First-team All-state after leading the "Quips" to a 14–1 record and a Western Pennsylvania AAA championship. He made 91 tackles as a senior and recovered two fumbles for touchdowns. He also played guard on offense for Aliquippa.

College career

As a defensive tackle Gilbert was an All-America choice in 1991. He had 99 tackles (21 for a loss) and 6 sacks in his final two seasons at Pitt. In 1991 against Penn State, Gilbert totaled 11 tackles (6 for a loss) and 1 sack. One observer said Gilbert "played like a man possessed.".As a senior Gilbert had 17 tackles for a loss and 4 sacks. Gilbert played in 6 games, missing almost half of the season with a knee injury. He did not play as a freshman due to the NCAA "Prop 48 rule." While playing at the University of Pittsburgh, he played with a stellar list of teammates and coaches. On the coaching staff while he was there were Jon Gruden, Mike McCarthy and Marvin Lewis, all of whom later became NFL head coaches. His teammates included NFL standouts Curtis Martin, Billy Davis, Keith Hamilton, Anthony Dorsett and WWE wrestler Matt Bloom.

The Tonight Show

The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show broadcast from the Rockefeller Center in New York City and airing on NBC since 1954. It is the world's longest-running talk show, and the longest running, regularly scheduled entertainment program in the United States. It is the third-longest-running show on NBC, after only the news-and-talk shows Today and Meet the Press.

Over the course of more than 60 years, The Tonight Show has undergone only minor title changes. It aired under the name Tonight for several of its early years, eventually settling on The Tonight Show after the seating of long-time host Johnny Carson in 1962. In later decades, network programmers, advertisers, and the show's announcers would refer to the show by including the name of the host; for example, it is currently announced as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 1957, the show briefly tried a more news-style format. It has otherwise remained a talk show throughout its run.

The Tonight Show began broadcasting in 1954. It has had six official hosts, beginning with Steve Allen (1954–57), followed by Jack Paar (1957–62), Johnny Carson (1962–92), Jay Leno (1992–2009, 2010–14), Conan O'Brien (2009–10), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present). It has had several recurring guest hosts, a practice especially common during the Paar and Carson eras.

Hugh Gilbert

The Right Reverend Hugh Edward Gilbert OSB (born 15 March 1952) is the Bishop of Aberdeen. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI on 4 June 2011. He had previously served as abbot of Pluscarden Abbey. He was consecrated by Cardinal Keith O'Brien on 15 August 2011.

Early life

On 15 March 1952, he was born Edward Gilbert in Emsworth to an Anglican family. He was received into the Catholic Church at age 18, on Christmas Eve of 1970. He was educated at the independent St Paul's School, London. He studied history at King's College London and graduate in 1974 with a first class honours degree in History.

Religious life

Gilbert entered the monastery of Pluscarden in Moray, Scotland, taking the religious name Hugh, and was later sent to Fort Augustus Abbey on the shores of Loch Ness for studies and preparation for the priesthood. He made his solemn monastic profession in 1979 and was ordained priest on the Feast of SS Peter and Paul, 29 June 1982 by Mario Conti.

At Pluscarden he became sub-prior in 1984, novice master in 1985, and prior in 1990. He was elected abbot of the monastery 29 October 1992 and received the abbatial blessing on 8 December 1992. He was a member of the Council of the Union of Monastic Superiors from 1993 to 1997 and of the Abbot Visitor's Council since 1995. During his time as abbot the community grew to 27 monks.

Jimmy Fallon

James Thomas "Jimmy" Fallon (born September 19, 1974) is an American comedian, television host, actor, singer, writer, and producer. He is known for his work in television as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and as the host of late-night talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and raised in Saugerties, New York. He grew up with an interest in comedy and music, moving to Los Angeles at 21 to pursue stand-up opportunities.

He was commissioned to join NBC's Saturday Night Live as a cast member in 1998, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Fallon remained on SNL for six years between 1998 and 2004, co-hosting the program's Weekend Update segment and becoming a celebrity in the process. He left the program for the film industry, starring in films such as Taxi (2004) and Fever Pitch (2005). Following his film career, Fallon returned to television as the host of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on NBC in 2009, where he became well known for his emphasis on music and games. He transitioned from that program to become the sixth host of the long-running The Tonight Show in 2014.
