Hinterland near Zagreb
Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is located at the Sava River and the Medvednica Mountain. The north-west of Croatia, more than 100 km away from the coast, is characterized by a continental climate, while the climate around the Adriatic coast is Mediterranean. The area around Zagreb belongs to the Pannonian Basin (Carpathian Basin), consisting mainly of lowlands interrupted by uplands (Mittelgebirge). The film presents impressions of a landscape close to a small town. Therefore most parts of the countryside here around are used for agriculture. Smaller corn fields (Zea mays) and vineyards seem to dominate the overall appearance of the landscape. A biodiversity corresponding to the climatic conditions and the scenic-zone can be found. I discovered eg jumping bristletails, the European mantis (Mantis religiosa), the snail Xerolenta obvia, covering culms in masses, small cicadas and locusts. Cirsium (Plume thistles) as a common "weed" was partly common.

From Huns to Hungarians (Reloaded)
This video shows the direct lineage between the Huns and Hungarians (Magyars). The Magyars lived in the Carpathian Basin 16 to 20000 years ago. About 6 to 8000 years ago they left the Basin and went to Mesopotamia (Sumeria) only to later return under the Scythian Empire. For thousands of years they were traveling between the Caucasian, Ural and Carpathian Mountains and came back to the Carpathian Basin on many occasions. Amongst others they came back as part of the Hun Empire. This is where the video starts and explains the Hun-Magyar connection. As we all know the Magyars came back to the Carpathian Basin in 896AD for the last and final time taking back their ancient land of the Basin and Erdely.

The Ironies of The Carpathian Basin: Part 1 - Slovakia
www.gvirsik.de The first video in a series that looks at the facts of Hungary's relations with Slovakia, Serbia and Romania; showing the sad ironies that are existent in them. This on in particular shows that the Slovaks should in fact be grateful that they were conquered by the Magyars, rather than hating the ancient Magyars' descendants, the Hungarians. Because of Hungarian rule, the Slovak language and culture would survive for a nearly a thousand years. This is not to say Hungarians are heroes who intentionally did this. The Magyars conquered Great Moravia for land, and not to preserve the Slovak language. This is simply stating that had history gone different, there wouldn't be a Slovakia today.

Belgrade, city of contrasts - the beauty of the Serbian capital
Belgrade - the largest city and capital in Serbia. Also one of the biggest city in the balkans. It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans. I dont own most photos, but some of them belongs to me. I promise to use it just because of promoting and showing a beauty of the Belgrade. ENJOY! the song; Ceca - Pile

The Ironies of The Carpathian Basin: Part 2 - Serbia
The second video in a series that looks at the facts of Hungary's relations with Slovakia, Serbia and Romania; showing the sad ironies that are existent in them. In February 2008, Kosovo declared indepedence from Serbia. The Serbs consider it illegitimate, as it had not been approved by Belgrade. However, this video compares Serbia's stance with Vojvodina and Transylvania 88 years earlier to point out a hypocritical and double-standard stance held by Belgrade. A peaceful Serbia is in Hungary's best interests, and a peaceful Serbia can only exist when Kosovo is accepted.

Slavonia
Shaped by the force of the mighty rivers Drava, Danube, Sava and Ilova, Slavonia is a mythical region that for centuries has guarded its treasures. It is characterised by the wide, endless expanse of the golden Pannonia plains, and by rivers that gave birth to the flood areas, which, in turn, provide an ideal habitat for the now centuries-old forestsof common oak (Quercus robur) as well as for more than 2000 biological species. The soil of Slavonia has been tilled by human hand for over 8000 years. croatia.hr Visit us on Facebook www.facebook.com
