Framlingham USAAF airfield 8TH Airforce 390TH bomb group museum and control tower.
A short video I made with still pictures at the site of the former USAAF base at Framlingham, Suffolk, UK, Part of the 8th airforce, the 390th BG (Heavy) flew from here in WW2. The control tower is extant and is open to visitors for free, with the museum beneath. It is well woth a visit if you are ever in the area. After the picture montage, there is a video showing a large B-17G built by a local. The diorama it sits on is very well made too, and the simulated motor sound with the props spinning was great to see.

Framlingham Castle 2009
A visit to the castle with one of the best wall walks we've been to, although attacking it using a piece of sticky wood, a dodgy hat and 2 year old is not recommended. Oo! and the laughing policeman is most amusing!

Parham Airfield Museum Framlingham Suffolk
After the War in Europe, runways were broken up and buildings were allowed to become dilapidated and, when not pulled apart, were used for farm storage. Among them was the Control Tower, shot up and abandoned after the Americans held a riotous farewell party there in August 1945, Framlingham Station 153, as the 390th bomb group knew the airfield now stood neglected, windowless and derelict. A five year restoration programme began, using volunteer labour and funded from their own resources and the Tower was finally dedicated as the 390th Bombardment Group Memorial Air Museum of the USAAF on 13th May 1981. The museum comprises the 390th Bombardment Group Memorial Air Museum and the Museum of the British Resistance Organisation operating under one Management Committee. It's continued existence relies on volunteer support and donations to help with maintenance necessary to ensure continued preservation of the building and it's contents. This film was shot on 07.06.09.
