ACA-VDCA Stadium
ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium (Telugu:ఏ.సి.ఏ వి.డి.సి.ఏ క్రికెట్ మైదానం )(Andhra Cricket Association-Vishakapatnam District Cricket Association Cricket Stadium), is a multi-purpose stadium in Visakhapatnam, India. The picturesque ACA-VDCA ground, set on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam amidst scenic hills, has hosted just 4 ODI so far apart from hosting IPL matches. The stadium has a two-tier architecture and designed in such a way that view of the match in action is not obstructed whatever may be the seating location. This ground has one of the best batting tracks in the world and a most preferred ground of BCCI to host ODI and other league matches
It is currently used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 36,000 people. It was given Test status in 2007 and has facilities to host a D/N match. The stadium has hosted 4 ODI matches with the host team - India winning all of these matches.It is located on NH5.

The first settlement began in 1803 as a penal colony at Risdon Cove on the eastern shores of the Derwent River, amid British concerns over the presence of French explorers. In 1804 it was moved to a better location at the present site of Hobart at Sullivans Cove. The city, initially known as Hobart Town or Hobarton, was named after Lord Hobart, the Colonial Secretary. The area's indigenous inhabitants were members of the semi-nomadic Mouheneener tribe. Violent conflict with the European settlers, and the effects of diseases brought by them, completely destroyed the aboriginal population, which was rapidly replaced by free settlers and the convict population. SWALEC Stadium
Sophia Gardens (Welsh: Gerddi Soffia), currently known as SWALEC Stadium (Welsh: Stadiwm SWALEC) under a naming rights deal, is a cricket stadium on the west bank of the River Taff in Cardiff, 1.6 kilometres (one mile) north of Cardiff Arms Park. It was named after Lady Sophia Rawdon-Hastings. Daughter of the 1st Marquess of Hastings and wife to the 2nd Marquess of Bute, Lady Sophia was concerned to provide open space for recreation in the rapidly expanding city in the late 19th century, in which her husband was heavily involved. The area is currently owned by Cardiff City Council.
The SWALEC Stadium is home to the Glamorgan County Cricket Club. The cricket club has played first-class cricket matches at the venue since 24 May 1967, after moving away from Cardiff Arms Park. A 125-year lease of the ground was acquired in 1995, with the previous leaseholders, Cardiff Athletic Club, moving their cricketing operations to the Diamond Ground in Whitchurch. Beside the cricket ground is the large sports hall complex of the Sport Wales National Centre. Cardiff Corinthians F.C. have previously used the area for football. In July 2007 Glamorgan cricketer, Mike Powell, was granted his wish to have a rib, removed during surgery, buried at the ground.

Abraham Benjamin de Villiers (born 17 February 1984, Pretoria, Transvaal Province, South Africa) more commonly known by his initials AB is a South African cricketer and captain of the South African One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 teams, having succeeded Graeme Smith in both roles after the 2011 Cricket World Cup. He is also part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
De Villiers is a right-handed batsman, who, in a very short space of time, has accumulated many runs in Tests including centuries against England, India, the West Indies and Australia. He has been dismissed in the 90s on five occasions in Tests. He still holds the record for most Test innings without registering a duck (78), before being dismissed for nought against Bangladesh in November 2008. He also holds the record for the highest individual score by a South African batsman in an innings, with 278*. He is an occasional wicketkeeper for the South African cricket team, and is commonly regarded as one of the best fielders currently in international cricket. AB de Villiers blasted the seventh fastest century in ODI cricket, in 58 balls, when he slammed an unbeaten 102 off just 59 balls against India in Ahmedabad in February 2010. He reached the top of the Test Batting rankings in March 2012.

Abhimanyu Mithun
Abhimanyu Mithun (Kannada: ಅಭಿಮನ್ಯು ಮಿಥುನ್) (born 25 October 1989) is an Indian international cricketer. In first class cricket, he plays for Karnataka. A right-arm fast-medium bowler, Mithun was called up to the India squad for the first Test against South Africa in 2009–10, only ten weeks after making his first-class debut. He has also played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He made his debut in One Day Internationals in the third and final one day match against South Africa in the 2010 season. His Test debut was against Sri Lanka on 18 July 2010, at Galle, in which he claimed four wickets. He batted at No. 11 in the first innings, but after looking more solid than his fellow bowlers, he was promoted to No. 9 in the second innings and scored 25. He proved that he certainly has some potential with the bat & can become a seam bowling all-rounder in future.

Abhinav Mukund pronunciation (help·info)(born 6 January 1990) is an Indian cricketer who plays for the India, Chennai Super Kings, India Under-19 team and Tamil Nadu. He was picked for the India Under-19 squad's tour in Malaysia where he played two matches. His highest score in first-class cricket is 300* against Maharashtra. He and Murali Vijay scored 462 runs for the first wicket partnership in the same match. He was named in the Indian Test squad for the tour of the West Indies in 2011.

Ajinkya Rahane (born 5 June 1988, in a Maratha family, Maharashtra) is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman, who represents India in international competitions. Rahane represents Mumbai in domestic competitions and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. He is one of the only 11 players to have scored more than 1000 runs in a single Ranji Trophy season. He has a sound technique and is versatile in his stroke making. His well timed drives, lofted shots and late cuts reinforce the orthodox style of play in which power is not the only factor in scoring quick runs.
Ajinkya Rahane is an exciting top-order batsman who bats at No. 3, and was a crucial factor in Mumbai's 38th title win. Ajinkya Rahane has also turned out for India Blue & Green in the Challenger Series, and West Zone in the Duleep Trophy. Alastair Cook
Alastair Nathan Cook, MBE (born 25 December 1984) is an English international cricket player. He is a left-handed opening batsman who plays county cricket for Essex and International cricket for England, where he is their ODI captain. Cook played for Essex's Academy and made his debut for the first XI in 2003. He has played in a variety of England's youth teams from 2000 until his call up to the Test side in 2006.
While touring in the West Indies with the ECB National Academy, Cook was called up to the England national team in India as a last-minute replacement for Marcus Trescothick and debuted with a century. Debuting at 21 years of age, Cook went on to become the youngest Englishman to reach 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 and 6,000 test runs, making centuries in his first Test matches against India, Pakistan, the West Indies and Bangladesh. He is also the only Englishman to score seven Test centuries before his 23rd birthday.
Despite this prodigious flurry of runs, Cook came under criticism throughout 2008 for a lack of centuries; he replied in 2009 with two centuries, as well as a score of 95 against Australia to help seal England's first victory against them at Lord's since 1934. He took seven catches in the series, including the final wicket, to win the 2009 Ashes series. After deputising as Test captain in 2010, Cook went on to play another pivotal role in retaining the 2010-11 Ashes series, breaking records by scoring the second highest number of runs in a Test series by an Englishman, including his maiden first-class double-hundred and two further hundreds, and batting for over 35 hours during the series.

He took 5 wickets for 71 runs in Australia's first innings and then 2/35 in the second, making him the leading wicket-taker in the match as India proceeded to a decisive victory. Despite, this Indian coach Gary Kirsten said that Mishra would be dropped if Kumble recovered for the Third Test. Ashish Nehra pronunciation (help·info) Hindi: आशीष नेहरा; born April 29, 1979) is an Indian cricketer (left-arm fast bowler) who has represented India at the international level since 1999.
Nehra started playing first-class cricket for his hometown, Delhi, in the 1997/1998 season and made his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Colombo in 1999 and his ODI debut against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2001. On his Test debut, Nehra started out well, dismissing Marvan Atapattu early but then failed to pick up any more wickets. Similarly, he dismissed Alistair Campbell with only his 2nd ball in ODIs. He was also part of the Indian team's run at the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. It was there against England, that he got his career-best ODI figures of six for 23. His performance in the other matches in the World Cup were also noteworthy.
However inconsistency and successive back and ankle injuries have prevented him from cementing his place in the Indian team. His career statistics are better in ODI cricket than in Test cricket, but with 144 ODI wickets at an average of 30.54 his average is higher(lesser the best) than all three of his main competitors for fast bowling places in the Indian team - Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar, who all have bowling averages below 30. The new crop of fast bowlers like Munaf Patel, RP Singh and Ishant Sharma also add to the competition. Nevertheless, Nehra completed recovery from a bowel injury in March 2006 and is trying to make a comeback into the Indian team.

Dinda, born in a Bengali Hindu family, hails from the village of Noichunpur, near the district headquarter Tamluk of East Midnapore district. Dinda's talent was spotted by a coach in Kolkata after bowling a few overs in the nets. The coach, Atal Dev Burman, asked him to stay back and hone his talents. Dinda stayed at Burman's house for four years and honed his skills at the Russa United Cricket Coaching Centre in Tollygunge. After a stint with Kalighat club and the Australian Institute of Sport, he made his first-class debut for Bengal in the 2005-06 season. He was a regular member of the side that reached the final of the Ranji Trophy the next season, although his performance with the ball wasn't that impressive, with 16 wickets in eight matches at 54.56. He was a late addition to the Kolkata Knight Riders' squad for the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008, and shone in the league opener in Bangalore. In September he was awarded a place in the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy - a match meant to include Test probables for the Australia series, the following month.

Hendrik Human Dippenaar (born 14 June 1977, in Kimberley, Cape Province), known as Boeta Dippenaar, is a cricketer who has played Test and One Day International cricket for South Africa and the ACA African XI. He has played as a specialist batsman in most of his matches, and has played Test cricket in all batting positions from one through seven . He bats right-handed and bowls occasional off breaks .
Dippenaar made his international debut in September 1999, playing two of South Africa's four One Day Internationals as an opening batsman during the LG Cup in Kenya, which South Africa won, and he also played both Tests in the home-and-away Test series with Zimbabwe in October and November that same month, making 56 runs in four innings.

Brian Lara
Brian Charles Lara, TC, OCC, AM (born 2 May 1969, in Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago) is a former West Indian international cricket player. Lara is generally regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He topped the Test batting rankings on several occasions and holds several cricketing records, including the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket, with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994, which is the only quintuple hundred in first-class cricket history. Lara also holds the test record of scoring most number of runs in a single over in a Test match, when he scored 28 runs off an over by Robin Peterson of South Africa in 2003.

Charl Kenneth Langeveldt (born 17 December 1974) is a South African ODI and Test cricketer. He is one of four Cape Coloureds in the South African side, with the others being Herschelle Gibbs, JP Duminy and Ashwell Prince.

Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara (born 25 January 1988, in Rajkot, Gujarat) is an Indian Test cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman. Brian Christopher Broad, usually known as Chris Broad (born 29 September 1957, in Knowle, Bristol) is a former English cricketer and broadcaster who currently serves as a cricket official. Damien Martyn
Damien Richard Martyn (born 21 October 1971) is a former Australian cricketer. He played for the national team sporadically in 1992–1994 before becoming a regular ODI player in 1999–2000 and a regular Test player in 2001 until his retirement in late 2006. He was primarily a right-handed middle-order as a batsman with a 'classical' technique, known in particular for his elegant strokemaking square of the wicket on the off-side and through the covers. Martyn moved with his family to Perth, Western Australia at the age of three, and was educated at Girrawheen Senior High School, before being selected for the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide in 1990. He made his first class debut for Western Australia the following season, in which he scored 822 runs at 51.37. Noted for his daring and sometimes cavalier strokeplay, Martyn was selected to make his Test debut against the West Indies in November, 1992 at the Gabba, a surprise replacement for Dean Jones. He batted in the middle-order, scoring 36 and 15. He played in all Tests in that season, apart from the Fourth Test at the Adelaide Oval where he was replaced by fellow Western Australian Justin Langer after sustaining an injury before the match. However, his performances were unconvincing, totalling 168 runs at 28.16 for the series, passing 50 only once with an unbeaten 67* at the MCG. Martyn was also a member of the ODI squad in that season, playing less regularly in only four of eleven matches, and aggregating 45 runs at 22.5.

Desmond Haynes
Desmond Leo Haynes (born 15 February 1956) is a West Indian cricketer and cricket coach. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1991. Haynes formed a formidable partnership with Gordon Greenidge for the West Indies cricket team in Test cricket during 1980s. Between them they managed 16 century stands, four in excess of 200. The pair made 6482 runs while batting together in partnerships, the second highest total for a batting partnership in Test cricket history. Haynes favoured a more measured approach to batting. He compiled 7487 runs in 116 Test matches at an average of 42.29, his highest Test innings coming against England in 1984 with 184 off 395 balls. He is one of the few Test batsman to have been dismissed handled the ball, falling in this fashion against India on 3 March 1978.
He first made his name on the international scene with 148 against Australia at Antigua in a One-Day International against Australia and until recently Haynes held a number of ODI records, including most runs and most centuries. He played in the World Cup of 1979, won by the West Indies, and returned to the competition in 1983, 1987 and 1992. In the 25 World Cup matches, Haynes scored 854 runs at 37.13 with three fifties and one century.

Dirk Nannes
Dirk Peter Nannes (born 16 May 1976) is a Dutch Australian cricketer. A left-arm fast bowler, he plays for the Australian cricket team, the Victorian Bushrangers, the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, and Fitzroy-Doncaster in Victorian club cricket. In his second first-class cricket game he played in the 2005/06 Pura Cup final in which the Queensland Bulls amassed a record 6 for 900 declared. Nannes took three wickets in the innings and when it came Victoria's time to bat he was the last wicket to fall in the match.

Duncan Fletcher
Duncan Andrew Gwynne Fletcher OBE (born 27 September 1948) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer, formerly captain of the Zimbabwean cricket team and the current coach of the Indian Cricket Team. He has been appointed as coach of the Indian Cricket Team on April 27, 2011. Fletcher is largely credited with rejuvenating the fortunes of the then flagging English team, with the team rising from bottom of the Test rankings to second under his tenure as coach.
Fletcher was born in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe) and was one of five brothers in a Rhodesian farming family.
Fletcher was Zimbabwe's first-ever One Day International captain, leading them to their famous victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup over Australia, winning the Man of the Match award for his individual performance. Fletcher also took Zimbabwe to victory in the 1982 ICC Trophy. Duncan Fletcher has never played Test Cricket.
Under Fletcher the England cricket team achieved famous series victories away to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies and South Africa between 2000-2004. In 2004 England won an English record 8 consecutive tests, beating New Zealand 3-0 and West Indies 4-0 at home respectively, before winning the first test in South Africa. His most famous and largest achievement however came in September 2005, when he became the first coach of the English team to win an Ashes series for 18 years when England secured 2-1 victory over Australia.

Fidel Edwards
Fidel Henderson Edwards (born 6 February 1982 in Gays, St Peter, Barbados) is a West Indian cricketer and is the half brother of Pedro Collins. A pace bowler, his round-arm action greatly resembles that of former fast bowler Jeff Thomson. He was spotted in the nets by Brian Lara and was called up for his Test debut against Sri Lanka after just one match for Barbados.
On 6 February 2009 the IPL franchise of Deccan Chargers bought Edwards for $150,000. His club team in Barbados is YMPC. Despite a promising start to his Test career, he has been injury prone and inconsistent. With an average of just under 40 in Test cricket, he has struggled to fulfil his early potential. Edwards last played a One Day International in 2009, and the West Indies Cricket Board manages his workload to avoid further injuring him. A back injury incurred during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 prevented Edwards from playing international cricket until 2011.
Edwards made his first-class debut on 1 February 2002, playing for Barbados against the Windward Islands. In the first innings he opened the bowling with Tino Best; he had to wait until the second to take his only wicket in the match, that of Junior Murray. The Barbados squad had plenty of fast bowlers, with the likes of Best, Pedro Collins, Corey Collymore, Vasbert Drakes, and Ian Bradshaw, who all had international experience by mid 2003. Strong competition and injury meant Edwards struggled for selection. However, the selectors had monitored his development and in May that year Edwards impressed batsman Brian Lara while bowling in the nets. On the basis of the potential he showed, Edwards was included for the West Indies Test against Sri Lanka the following month. Edwards made his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Kingston, Jamaica, making 5 not out and returning with bowling figures of 5/36 and 1/54 in a winning West Indian effort. In just his second first-class match, he produced the third-best bowling figures by a West Indies player on debut.

Gary Kirsten
Gary Kirsten (born 23 November 1967) is a former South African cricketer, and the World Cup winning coach of the Indian cricket team. He played 101 Test matches and 185 One-day internationals for South Africa between 1993 and 2004, mainly as an opening batsman. His half brother Peter, also played provincial cricket for Western Province, and then later for the South Africa cricket team which included the highlight of the Cricket World Cup in 1992.
Kirsten made his Test debut against Australia in Melbourne in 1993. He retired from international cricket in 2004 after crafting a match-winning 76 in his final innings, against New Zealand. Against the same country he had made history by becoming the first ever Protea to play in 100 Test matches.
Over the years, he gained a reputation as being a sturdy batsman in both Test cricket and one-day cricket. He could up the tempo of an innings if he needed to, but more often than not he simply waited for the bad ball, much like Steve Waugh and Justin Langer. He was also a reliable fielder. Kirsten held the South African records for most runs and centuries in a Test career, before both were surpassed by Jacques Kallis. He was the first Test batsman to make hundreds against each of the other 9 Test nations. He made a score of 275 against England as a result of batting for over 14 and a half hours as South Africa followed on at Kingsmead, still stands as the second-longest innings (in terms of duration) in Test history. The high score was later surpassed by Graeme Smith when he made 277 against England in 2003. He still holds the record for highest innings by a South African in a One Day International; 188 not-out made against the United Arab Emirates during the 1996 World Cup, which is the sixth highest innings of all time in One-Day International cricket, and the highest score in World Cup cricket history.

Gautam Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir ( pronunciation (help·info); born 14 October 1981) is an Indian cricketer. A left-handed batsman, he made his One Day International debut for India in 2003, and played his first Test the following year. Gambhir had been a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket with an average of over 50 but his two successive double-hundreds in 2002 (one of them against the visiting Zimbabweans) made him a strong contender for India's opening slot.

Cuthbert Gordon Greenidge MBE (born May 1, 1951) is a former member of the West Indies cricket team.
Greenidge was an opening batsman for the West Indies. He began his Test career against India at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore in 1974 and continued playing internationally until 1991. He was half of the West Indies prolific opening partnership with Desmond Haynes. The pair made 6482 runs while batting together in partnerships, the highest total for a batting partnership in Test cricket history.
Greenidge went on to play 108 Test matches scoring 7,558 runs with 19 centuries. He also played 128 One Day Internationals, including the 1975 and 1983 World Cup Finals, scoring 5,134 runs and 11 centuries.
Greenidge scored a double-double century performances against England in the 1984 summer Test series (also known as the "Blackwash" series WI winning 5-0). He scored 214 runs during the second Test at Lords in June 1984, then followed up with 223 runs during the fourth Test at Old Trafford during the last five days of July. The first of those innings was on the last day as West Indies successfully chased 342 for victory; it remains the highest ever run chase at Lords.

Greg Chappell
Gregory Stephen Chappell MBE (born 7 August 1948 in Unley, South Australia) is a former cricketer who captained Australia between 1975 and 1977 and then joined the breakaway World Series Cricket (WSC) organisation, before returning to the Australian captaincy in 1979, a position he held until his retirement 1984. The second of three brothers to play Test cricket, Chappell was the pre-eminent Australian batsman of his time who allied elegant stroke making to fierce concentration. He was appointed coach of the India national cricket team on a 2 year contract in 2005. However, a series of controversies and personality clashes, combined with India's poor performance at the 2007 Cricket World Cup led to his resignation from the position on 4 April 2007. Chappell has served as an academy coach for the Rajasthan Royals, and was hired as the All Stars Coach for the 2008 Twenty20 match against Australia. Jean-Paul Duminy
Jean-Paul Duminy, often shortened to JP Duminy, (born 14 April 1984) is a South African cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off spin bowler. Duminy, who is a Cape Coloured, was raised in the Western Cape and currently plays domestic cricket for his home team, the Cape Cobras.
Duminy is a successful batsman generally occupying the top order, a skilled fielder and a useful change bowler. He became known during the South African under-19s tour to England in 2003 and in the 2003-04 domestic season, where he averaged over 72 two years after breaking into South Africa's Western Province side. Though he bowls less frequently in One Day Internationals, he has also found success with the ball, making his One Day International debut in 2004 against Sri Lanka.
Replacing injured vice-captain Ashwell Prince, Duminy made his Test debut against Australia at the WACA in Perth on 17 December 2008, scoring 50 not out in the second innings by hitting the winning runs in the match after putting on an unbroken century partnership with AB de Villiers. His performance was lauded by numerous critics, including Peter Roebuck. In the next Test match, beginning on Boxing Day, Duminy combined with the tailenders to score his maiden Test century of 166. South Africa were more than 200 runs in arrears when they lost their seventh wicket in the first innings. In the process, he and Dale Steyn (76) put on 180 and surpassed Graeme and Peter Pollock's South African ninth wicket partnership record against Australia. South Africa ended with a 62-run lead and converted it into a nine-wicket win. This sealed the series, the first time that South Africa had won a Test series in Australia, and Australia's first home Test series loss in 16 years.

Ian Jonathan Leonard Trott (born 22 April 1981) is a South African-born England Test cricketer. Domestically, he plays for Warwickshire and he has also played in South Africa and New Zealand. He was an ECB Cricketer of the Year in 2011.
A right-handed top order batsman and occasional medium-pace bowler, he played two Twenty20 Internationals for England in 2007. Luke Anthony Pomersbach (born 28 September 1984 in Bentley, Western Australia) is an Australian cricketer who is listed with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Matthew Lawrence Hayden AM (born 29 October 1971) is a former Australian cricketer, and was signed to the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL until the 2010 season. Hayden is a powerful and aggressive left-handed opening batsman, known for his ability to score quickly at both Test and one day levels.
Hayden holds the record for the highest score made by an Australian batsman in Tests (380). With the backing of Sachin Tendulkar, he was signed by Mumbai in a transfer deal, in late 2003, without ever representing his native Gujarat.
In 2004, he struggled with injuries, and was criticized by India A coach Sandeep Patil, who believed that he had a mental problem dealing with his injuries. He was also sent to Australian Institute of Sport for bio-mechanical analysis on his bowling action, to improve its efficiency. In August 2005, he transferred to Maharashtra, and after taking 10 wickets against England in a tour match for the Board President's XI, he was rewarded with his selection in the Indian Test Squad for the 2nd Test against England in Mohali, when he made his Test debut. Nick Knight
Nicholas Verity Knight (born Watford, Hertfordshire, England on 28 November 1969) is a former England cricketer. Knight's middle name was in honour of the 1930s English Test bowler Hedley Verity who was killed in World War II and is a distant family relation. Paul Stirling
Paul Robert Stirling (born 3 September 1990) is an Irish cricketer. He debuted in first-class cricket in March 2008, playing for Ireland in the Intercontinental Cup. Tillakaratne Mudiyanselage Dilshan (Sinhala: තිලකරත්න මුදියන්සේලාගේ දිල්ෂාන්) born October 14, 1976 in Kalutara, Sri Lanka is a Sri Lankan cricketer and former captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. He has been a member of the team since November 1999, and was also known as Tuwan Mohammad Dilshan. He is an aggressive right-hand batsman and also a capable in spin bowling, his off breaks are mostly used in the one-day arena. Dilshan won the award of Twenty20 International Performance of the Year at the 2009 ICC Awards for his 96 off 57 balls against West Indies in the semi-final of the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 in England. He also won man of the series trophy for his indiviual batting performances in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
Dilshan was born to a Malay father and a Sinhalese mother. He converted from Islam to Buddhism at the age of 16. He was educated at Kalutara Vidyalaya National School in Kalutara. He is now married to Sri Lankan teledrama actress Manjula Thilini. The marriage was celebrated in India during the 2008 IPL series, following Hindu rituals. Dilshan has a daughter from his second marriage and a son from his first marriage. Dilshan's brother, Tillakaratne Sampath, is a first-class cricketer in Sri Lanka.

Umesh Yadav pronunciation (help·info)(born 25 October 1987) is an Indian cricketer who currently plays for Vidarbha. A right arm Fast bowling bowler, Yadav has played for Vidarbha at domestic level since 2008. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe in May 2010. The following year, in November, Yadav made his Test debut against the West Indies.
Yadav's father is a coal miner. Before becoming a professional cricketer, Umesh Yadav intended to become a police officer. He played in four Vidarbha's Ranji matches that season, taking 20 wickets at an average of 14.60 with best figures of 6/105. Also in the 2008/09 season, Yadav made his one-day debut. Bought by Delhi Daredevils in 2008 for $30,000, Yadav made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2010, taking 6 wickets in as many matches at an average of 30.66.

Wriddhiman Saha (Bengali: ঋদ্ধিমান সাহা )(born 24 October 1984) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and specialist wicket-keeper. Saha has played Test cricket for India and represents Bengal and the Chennai Super Kings in Indian domestic cricket.

Yusuf Pathan (Urdu: یوسف خان پٹھان) (born 17 November 1982) is an Indian cricketer. Pathan made his debut in first-class cricket in 2001/02. He returned for the 2006 tour of Pakistan, where India fielded three left arm pacemen and had difficulty dismissing Pakistan with a lack of variety in the bowling attack.

Virat Kohli pronunciation (help·info) (born 5 November 1988 in Delhi) is an Indian international cricketer. He is a middle order batsman, who can also open the batting. He can also bowl right arm medium pace.[1] Kohli was the captain of the victorious Indian team at the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup held in Malaysia. He represents Delhi in first-class cricket and plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He also played for the West Delhi Cricket Academy.[2] He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in 2008 and was part of the Indian team which won the 2011 World Cup. Despite being a regular in the ODI side, he only played his first Test in 2011.

Personal life[link]
Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi to Prem and Saroj Kohli.[3] He has an elder brother, Vikash, and an elder sister, Bhavna.[4] Virat attended school at Vishal Bharti and Savier Convent. Virat's father, Prem, worked as a lawyer and died in December 2006.[3] Little is known of Virat Kohli's personal life.[5]
Youth cricket and early career[link]
The West Delhi Cricket Academy was created in 1998 and Kohli was part of its first intake.[5] Kohli first came into the spotlight when he played for Delhi in a Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka on the day of his father's death. Choosing to stay and bat, he went on to score 90 runs. Mithun Manhas, the team's captain, remarked that "That is an act of great commitment to the team and his innings turned out to be crucial".[6]
Kohli captained the victorious Indian team at the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup held in Malaysia.[7] Batting at number 4, he scored 235 runs in 6 matches at an average of 47, including a century against the West Indies U-19s.[8] He was also commended for making several tactical bowling changes during the tournament.[9] His mother noted that "Virat changed a bit after that day. Overnight he became a much more matured person. He took every match seriously. He hated being on the bench. It's as if his life hinged totally on cricket after that day."[3]
Kohli was instrumental in India's win of the 2009 Emerging Players Tournament in Australia. In the final against South Africa, Kohli scored a century and India went on to win the game by 17 runs. Kohli emerged as the leading run scorer of the tournament, aggregating 398 runs from seven matches including two centuries and two fifties.[10]
Kohli played for Royal Challengers Bangalore at the 2008 Indian Premier League.[11] He was bought for $30,000 before the first season in 2008. He did not perform well, scoring only 165 runs in 13 innings at an average of 15 and taking only 2 wickets with his bowling. But he improved marginally in the second season, scoring 246 runs in 16 innings with an average of 22.36 and taking 9 catches and effecting 2 run outs. In the third season, he scored 307 runs, including two half centuries, in 13 innings at an average of 27.90. In the fourth season of the IPL, he was the only player that Royal Challengers Bangalore retained, preferred over the likes of Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Ross Taylor.
ODI specialist (2008–2011)[link]
Following a hundred in the Emerging Players Tournament in Australia in 2008, Kohli was selected in the ODI squad for India's tour of Sri Lanka.[12] Kohli made his debut in One Day International against Sri Lanka in the Idea Cup in 2008 when both Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were injured. He opened the batting in the first match, but was out for 12. But he made a crucial 37 in a low scoring second match in the series, which helped India win and level the series. He made his first half century, a score of 54, in the fourth match which helped India win the series. This was India's first one day series win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. He was included in the squad for the home ODI series against England later that same year but was not given a chance to play,due to inclusion of Sachin and Sehwag in team. Kohli was then dropped from the squad for the five-match ODI series in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka in January 2009.
Kohli played in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy after Yuvraj Singh was injured, and since mid-2009 has been the reserve ODI batsman. Yuvraj regained fitness for the home series against Australia, so Kohli only played in occasional matches in the series.
In the absence of the injured Yuvraj, Kohli got a chance to play in the 4th ODI when Sri Lanka toured India in December 2009. He scored his first ODI century, milking singles with Gautam Gambhir they shared a 224-run partnership for the third wicket as India won by seven wickets to seal the series 3–1.
Senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar was rested for the tri-nations tournament in Bangladesh in January 2010, so Kohli played in each of India's five matches. After making nine in the opening loss to Sri Lanka, he top-scored with 91 to help secure a win after India collapsed early in their run chase against Bangladesh on 7 January 2010. He then ended unbeaten on 71 to help win the match for India with a bonus point after they chased down their target quickly. The next day, he scored his second ODI century, against Bangladesh, bringing up the mark with the winning runs. He was much praised for his performances during the tournament, and became only the third Indian to score two ODI centuries before their 22nd birthday, following in the footsteps of Tendulkar and Suresh Raina.[13] However, in the final against Sri Lanka he made only two as India collapsed to 5/60 and an eventual four-wicket defeat.
Kohli was named vice-captain of the ODI side for the Tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe in June 2010 as all the other first-choice players skipped the tournament. In the same series, he became the fastest Indian to score 1,000 runs in ODI cricket.[14] He was India's leading run-scorer in 2010, with 995 runs including three centuries from 25 matches at an average of 47.38.[15] Kohli was preferred over Raina for the 2011 World Cup and became the first Indian to score a century on World Cup debut. He also scored 59 against West Indies while sharing a 122-run patnership with Yuvraj Singh.[16] His 83-run partnership for the third wicket with Gautam Gambhir was instrumental in India taking the upper hand during their run chase against Sri Lanka in the final.[17] He made 282 runs in 9 innings at an average of 35.25.[18] Between 1 January 2009 and 1 September 2011, Kohli was India's second highest run-scorer in ODIs with 1,994 runs at an average of 47.47.[19]
Introduction to Tests (2011–2012)[link]
When India toured the West Indies in June and July 2011, they chose a largely inexperienced squad, resting Tendulkar and others such as Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag missing out due to injuries. Kohli was one of three uncapped players in the Test squad.[20] India won the Test series 1–0 but Kohli struggled on his debut in the format; he struggled with the short ball[21] amassing just 76 runs from five innings.[22] Particularly troublesome for Kohli was the fast bowling of Fidel Edwards, who dismissed him three times in the series.[23] Initially dropped from the Test squad for India's four-match series against England in July and August, Kohli was recalled as cover for the injured Yuvraj Singh,[24] though did not play in the series.[25] He participated in the subsequent ODI series, scoring 194 runs from five innings including a century,[26] although India lost the series 3–0.[27] In October England faced India in a return ODI series in India. India won 5–0 and Kohli was the highest run-scorer on either side with 270 across five matches and a highest score of 112 not out.[28][29]
In November and December 2011, the West Indies toured India for three Tests and five ODIs. Following his ODI success against England the previous month Kohli was included in the Test squad ahead of Raina. In competition with Yuvraj Singh for the number six position,[30] it was not until the final match of the series that Kohli was selected in the team.[25] The match ended in a draw, and having won the first two Tests took the series 2–0; Kohli scored a pair of fifties in the match, passing his previous highest score of 30.[31] India won the subsequent ODI series 4–1 and Kohli managed 243 runs at an average of 60.75 with a highest score of 117.[32]
Kohli was included in India's squad for the tour of Australia in December 2011. After the first Test he felt his position in the team was in jeopardy,[33] and during the second Kohli was fined half of his match fee for swearing at fans at the Sydney Cricket Ground who were insulting him.[34] In an interview after the incident, he remarked "Scoring eight hundreds in one-day internationals can't be a fluke. It's international cricket as well. I don't know why people have been questioning my technique or temperament so much. ... All of this is a learning curve for me. I am playing on difficult wickets, in Australia."[33] Kohli top scored in each of India's innings in the third Test, with 44 and 75,[35] and in the fourth and final match Kohli scored his maiden Test century of 116 runs in the second innings; it was the only century scored by an Indian in the series.[36] India lost the series 4–0[37] and Kohli was the top scorer for India in the same series.[38]
India remained in Australia for the triangular ODI series, that followed the Tests; it was contested by Australia, Sri Lanka, and India. Kohli was India's leading run-scorer in the series scoring 373 runs including two half centuries and a century – again, the only century scored by an Indian in the series.[39] Though India did not progress to the final,[40] victory against Sri Lanka in India's last match kept them in contention until the final fixture of the group stage. Chasing 321 to win, Kohli came to the crease with India's score at 86/2 and went on to score 133 not out from 86 balls to win with 13 overs to spare. He was named Man of the Match for his effort, which included scoring 24 runs from an over by Lasith Malinga.[41] He was named vice-captain of the ODI team for the 2012 Asia Cup in March.[42]
He scored 183 off 148 balls against Pakistan in the fifth match of Asia Cup 2012, recording the joint-fourth highest score by an Indian in ODIs. Coming in at 0/1, he struck 22 fours and a six to take India to a record chase of 330. This is his highest score in One Day internationals and the highest individual score in the Asia Cup. Kohli's innings was the highest individual innings for a batsman against Pakistan in a ODI surpassing previous record by Brian Lara (156).[43][44] The 2012 Indian Premier League followed in April and May and Kohli scored 364 runs fron 16 matches, with two half-centuries.[45]

Saeed Ajmal (Punjabi, Urdu: سعید اجمل; born 14 October 1977) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a right-arm off-spin bowler who bats right handed. At domestic level in Pakistan he has represented Faisalabad, with whom he won the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup; Khan Research Laboratories; and Islamabad. Ajmal made his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30, and a year later played his first Test. In 2009 he was reported for having a suspect bowling action, but after being cleared he helped Pakistan win the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. Ajmal played for Worcestershire as an overseas player in English domestic cricket in 2011. Since November 2011, Ajmal has been ranked by the International Cricket Council as the number one bowler in ODIs. On 28 January 2012, in his 20th Test, Ajmal became the quickest Pakistani to take 100 test wickets.[1]

Domestic career[link]
Saeed Ajmal has played for Faisalabad since his debut in 1995 at the age of 18. Ajmal represented the Faisalabad Wolves in the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup, his team won the final in which he was man of the match.[2][3] When Faisalabad won the final of the ABN-AMRO Patron's Cup in March 2006 Ajmal was named the tournament's best bowler and was given a Rs 25,000 prize.[4] He has also represented Khan Research Laboratories, who were runners-up in the final of the 2008/09 Quaid-i-Azam Trophy; though his side lost the final, Ajmal took 5/105 and 2/55 and in the process passed 250 first-class wickets.[5][6] Ajmal has also played for Islamabad.
International career[link]
Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup in June 2008; Ajmal was included in the 15-man squad and was expected to act as a foil to Shahid Afridi's leg spin.[7] He made his debut against India on 2 July 2008. Ajmal took a single wicket, that of Yusuf Pathan, from his ten overs while conceding 47 runs (1/47) as Pakistan won by eight wickets.[8] before taking 2/19 in a ten-wicket victory over Bangladesh, although the team had no chance of progressing to the competition's final.[9] In November that year Pakistan travelled to the United Arab Emirates to face the West Indies in a three-match ODI series. Ajmal and Afridi were the team's only spin options;[10] the former took a single wicket while conceding 73 runs and Pakistan won all three matches.[11]
Ajmal's next match the third ODI against Sri Lanka in January 2009.[12] In April Pakistan faced Australia in the UAE in five ODIs. Playing in all five matches Ajmal took four wickets at an average of 39.50.[13] He was then picked for the Sri Lankan series in Sri Lanka where he had made solid performances in the Test matches, being picked ahead of Danish Kaneria in two of the matches.
In April 2009, Ajmal was reported by umpires for having a suspect bowling action. An independent test the following month demonstrated that Ajmal's arm flexed within the 15 degree tolerance allowed by the International Cricket Council.[14] Later that year, the Pakistan Cricket Board named a pool of 30 players from which they would chose their final squad for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, held in June. Initially left out, Ajmal was one of three players added to the list, replacing players who were dropped because they were contracted with the controversial Indian Cricket League.[15] In the tournament, Ajmal partnered Afridi.[16] Pakistan won the tournament,[17] and Ajmal was the tournament's joint second highest wicket-taker with twelve dismissals from seven games (only Pakistan's Umar Gul took more wickets, with thirteen dismissals).[18]
Ajmal's good form continued in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 as he was Pakistan's leading wicket taker. However despite his good form he was known for conceding three sixes to Michael Hussey in what has been hailed as the most thrilling Twenty20 match of all time as Australia were in trouble and Ajmal was the unfortunate bowler who bowled that final over.[19]
Shortly after this the Pakistan team began a tour of England where they would face Australia in two Tests in July, and subsequently play England in four Tests and five ODIs. Danish Kaneria was preferred to Ajmal in the first match against Australia, but after Pakistan lost the selectors considered dropping the leg-spinner and chosing Ajmal.[20] In the event, Ajmal was not selected until the second Test against England,[21] when Kaneria was dropped because he had been ineffective. Though Pakistan lost the match by nine wickets, Ajmal took his first five-wicket haul in Tests. In Pakistan's second innings, with his team looking to set a target for England to chase, Ajmal scored 50 from 79 balls, his first half-century in Tests, before he was dismissed by fellow off spinner Graeme Swann.[22][23]
During the series against England, Pakistan became engulfed in a spot fixing scandal after the fourth test. In a later secret interview it was unveiled by alleged fixer Mazhar Majeed that Ajmal, Abdul Razzaq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi were too difficult to bribe. He stated that Ajmal was too religious to get involved into fixing.[24]
After the controversy and upheaval of 2010, 2011 saw Pakistan become a more consistent team. The year began with the World Cup held between February and April. Pakistan progressed to the semi-final, where they were defeated by India;[25] playing in three of the team's matches, Ajmal took five wickets at an average of 18.60.[26][27] After the World Cup, Pakistan played ten Tests, winning six andlosing a single match;[28] this saw the team win series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and draw with the West Indies.[25] Ajmal finished the year with 50 wickets from 8 Tests, more than any other bowler (second on the list was India's Ishant Sharma with 43).[29] Pakistan were also largely successful in ODIs, winning 24 out of 32.[25] After Pakistan beat Sri Lanka 4–1 in November 2011, Ajmal climbed to the number one spot in the ICC's ODI rankings.[30] He finished the year by taking nine wickets over two Tests in Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh.[31]
Pakistan started 2012 with a three Test series against England in the United Arab Emirates. Ajmal was named the man of the match for the first Test in Dubai, with match figures of 10 wickets for 97 runs and a career best 7/55 in England's first innings.[32][33] In the second fixture he dismissed Matt Prior to become the fastest Pakistani bowler to reach 100 wickets in Tests, taking 19 matches to accomplish the feat.[34] The series concluded with Pakistan completing a 3-0 whitewash over England, and Ajmal was named man of the series after claiming 24 wickets at an average of 14.70.[35][36]
In the immediate aftermath of the Test series, following confusion over comments from Ajmal about his bowling action in an interview to the BBC,[37] ESPNCricinfo published detailed information on the issue after a thorough investigation by journalist George Dobell with extensive discussion with ICC having been conducted. The resulting articles underlined the fact that Ajmal's bowling action falls well within the legal bounds set by the ICC for bowlers.[38][39]

A right-arm off spinner, Ajmal's stock delivery turns into right-handed batsman but he also frequently uses the doosra which turns the other way,[22] and he generally bowls flatter than most off spinners. The doosra has been an effective tool for Ajmal as batsmen have often failed to pick it. Explaining his bowling style in 2012, Ajmal said "If I bowl with flight I cannot bowl well. If I bowl at a quicker speed I can then use variations in pace. If I take 70% of my wickets with the doosra why should I not bowl it? Whether you bowl a doosra or an offbreak, the ball should be bowled on the right line and one should take a wicket with it."[40]

Harsha Bhogle (Marathi: हर्ष भोगले) (born 19 July 1961) is an Indian cricket commentator and journalist. He was born in a Marathi speaking family in Hyderabad. Bhogle has recently become a freelance TV presenter.

Early life[link]
Harsha Bhogle is the son of A. D. Bhogle, a professor of French, and Shalini Bhogle, a professor of psychology. He went to Hyderabad Public School, then studied chemical engineering at Osmania University in Hyderabad and later at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. After graduation, he joined an advertising agency and worked there for two years before moving on to another two year stint in a sports management company.

Bhogle began his career as a commentator at the age of 19 with All India Radio, while living in Hyderabad. In 1991-92, he became the first Indian commentator to be invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation during India's cricket series before the 1992 Cricket World Cup. He has since worked for ABC Radio Grandstand during India's Australian tours, and for eight years worked for the BBC as part of their commentary team in the 1996 and the 1999 Cricket World Cups.
Since 1995, he has been presenting live cricket from all around the world for ESPN STAR Sports and was part of the 'Few Good Men' commentary team that included Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and Alan Wilkins along with Geoff Boycott and Navjot Singh Sidhu, for few seasons, and later, Ian Chappell and Sanjay Manjrekar.
He covered the 2011-'12 series in Australia solely for ABC Radio - the first time in a decade he has not been part of an ESPN Star broadcast.
Harsha has been covering all Indian Premier League seasons since 2009 and is an expert cricket analyst on CNN-IBN.
He has hosted television programs such as Harsha Online, Harsha Unplugged and School Quiz Olympiad for ESPN and Star Sports.
Harsha even had a Television programme named after him, "Harsha ki khoj"/"Hunt by Harsha", that strived to find broadcasting talent in India.
Bhogle was recently voted the favourite TV cricket commentator by Cricinfo users based on a worldwide poll.[1] Bhogle has also anchored BBC's travel serial Travel India and Business Today Acumen Business Quiz and Debate competitions.
Bhogle was the advisor to the Mumbai Indians for the 2008 IPL.[2]
Bhogle has published and authored a number of books, including a biography of Mohammad Azharuddin and a collection of columns in The Indian Express, Out of the Box - Watching the Game We Love and is also a columnist for the Chennai based "The Sportstar" a subsidiary of The Hindu group of Publications under the title "Hitting Hard" by Bhogle. (2009). Bhogle has presented the program TRAVEL INDIA WITH HARSHA BHOGLE on the Discovery channel and TLC.
Bhogle has recently become a freelance TV presenter, not being employed with any one channel. In the 2011 World Cup held in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, he anchored the pre and post match shows that features Simon Hughes, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Gavaskar, Tony Greig and Sourav Ganguly.

Harsha is a vegetarian. He has been a brand ambassador of PETA.[citation needed] Harsha is known to be a very modest person. Although quite technology savvy on the web, he still owns an old Nokia cell phone and travels in yellow cabs from the airport to his home in Mumbai.[citation needed] Harsha is a cricket icon who follows his passions. He quotes,"Give your best performance and make the result irrelevant".[citation needed] He is regarded today as one of the best commentators, staying true to his father's golden words,"Give your best so that the God of Fortune asks you What do you want".[citation needed]

He and his wife Anita Bhogle have written a book titled The winning way: Learning from Sport managers based on business knowledge drawn from the sporting world. This book is result of ten years of work and experience in sports based communication. His has also authored a biography of Mohammad Azharuddin. His collection of articles is published in a book called Out of the Box.
