Poon Saan is a small settlement on Christmas Island, an external territory of Australia. Ethnic Chinese make up the majority of inhabitants. In Chinese, Poon Saan (半山, Jyutping: bun3 saan1, Pinyin: bàn shān) means "halfway up the hill".

Steven Tan (born 28 December 1970) was a Singaporean footballer in the 1990s, who played in the Singapore national football team as a striker. He is now the head coach of S-League club, Tampines Rovers.
He was best known for coming off the subs bench and scoring the all-important goals during the Malaysia Cup season, earning himself the nickname of the "Super-Steve". He was part of the squad which won the Malaysia Cup in the 1994 FAM League season. In 6 January 2011 He was appointed as the headcoach of Tampines Rovers FC for the 2011 S-League season replacing Vorawan Chitavanich who moved up to become the Technical Director for Tampines Rovers FC.
George Masangkay Canseco (23 April 1934 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines - 19 November 2004 in Manilla, Philippines) was a Filipino song composer.
Canseco studied liberal arts at University of the East. After graduation, he worked for the Philippines Herald and the Associated Press as a journalist, a scriptwriter for the Manila Broadcasting Company, and news director at Eagle Broadcasting. Canseco began devoting himself to writing music when Martial Law broke out in 1972.
He wrote for Sharon Cuneta and Basil Valdez, and his songs were recorded by Regine Velasquez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Pilita Corrales, Martin Nievera, and Kuh Ledesma. Rey Valera was a lyicist of two of Canseco's songs. Canseco wrote a song in English entitled "Songs" exclusively for Amapola in her first album under the Vicor Music Corporation Pioneer Label. Canseco's best known composition, however, was "Child", Freddie Aguilar's English-language version of his signature song "Anak".
Canseco credited film producer and Vicor Music Corporation owner Vic del Rosario for "my biggest break in the music industry." He became president of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or FILSCAP in 1973, and was elected as a councilor in the fourth district of Quezon City in 1988.

He has opened for Twiztid, 2 Live Crew, Tha Alkaholiks, Digital Underground, Kool Keith, KRS-One, Papa Roach and The Pharcyde, in addition to collaborating with musicians such as Eddie Gale and Spice 1.
Kung Fu Vampire began breakdancing at the age of six, and taught himself how to rap and sing. At the age of twelve, his aunt began taking him to see concert performances, and introduced him to a Gothic style of dress. He formed a band, LSP. In 1999, he adopted the name "Kung Fu Vampire" during a conversation with his friends in which he discussed the idea of a martial arts film featuring vampires. LSP disbanded, and Kung Fu Vampire formed a new band based on the "kung fu vampire" concept. Concepts from an unpublished novel he wrote also formed the basis for the group's stage act. In 2006, the group was voted as the "Best Local Band" by Metro Silicon Valley readers, and performed at the release party for Saw III, as well as at The Playboy Mansion.
Richard Poon (born December 8, 1981) is a Filipino-Chinese singer-songwriter and TV personality in the Philippines. He is a former member of U-Turn. He has gone on a successful solo career, and is a well-known jazz singer in the Philippines.
Poon was born on December 8, 1981 in Makati City, Philippines. Despite being of Chinese descent, he was raised by his parents Robert Poon and Eva Huang in the Philippines, together with his sister Eva Marie. He inherited his singing skills from his mother. Another field in which he has established a good reputation is in the Culinary Arts. He specializes in Oriental food available in his Little Poon Restaurant.
As a musician, Poon together with his skilled four piece band, have proudly graced many lounges and bars across Metro Manila, including a regular stint at Eastwood Central Plaza. They are also consistently invited to perform in various weddings, corporate shows and parties.
Though it may have become the norm for many an artist aiming to make it big in the local, music scene to simply accede and conform to prevailing musical trends and fads, there are still a few who admiringly dare to be different, taking themselves to task by choosing to take the road less traveled, aspiring for glory on their own terms.
