Little Andaman island (Onge: Gaubolambe) is the fourth largest of the Andaman Islands of India with an area of 734 km², lying at the southern end of the archipelago. It is separated from Rutland Island in Great Andaman by the Duncan Passage.
Little Andaman island is 120 km south of Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the nearest airport from where regular flights to Calcutta and Chennai (Madras) are available. Hut Bay wharf, a deep water wharf that can be approached through a gap in the coral reef, on the east coast of the island is the entry point of Little Andaman Island. Daily boat services connect Hut Bay wharf jetty with Port Blair in ten hours voyage. The village of Kwate-tu-Kwage is located on Hut Bay.
The island is home to the Onge aboriginal tribe, who call the island Egu Belong, and has been a tribal reserve since 1957. Settlers from erstwhile Bengal and other places also live here. As per the census of 2001, the population was 17,528 in 4,093 households, spread among 18 villages. The ship takes about 10 hours to commute from Port Blair. Additionally, there are a helicopter services by Pavan Hans Ltd. and a sea plane connection available between Port Blair and Hut Bay. The flight time by helicopter or sea plane is approximately 40 minutes.
The Andaman Islands (अंडमान द्वीप) form an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal between India, to the west, and Myanmar, to the north and east. Most are part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory of India, while a small number in the north of the archipelago, including the Coco Islands, belong to Myanmar.
The Andaman Islands are home to the only known paleolithic people, the Sentinelese people, who have had no contact with any other people.
The Andaman islands have been inhabited for several thousand years, at the very least. The earliest archaeological evidence yet documented goes back some 2,200 years; however, the indications from genetic, cultural and isolation studies suggests that the islands may have been inhabited as early as the Middle Paleolithic. The indigenous Andamanese people appear to have lived on the islands in substantial isolation from that time until the 18th century CE.
The Andamans are theorized to be a key stepping stone in a great coastal migration of humans from Africa via the Arabian peninsula, along the coastal regions of the Indian mainland and towards Southeast Asia, Japan and Oceania.

"Away from Home" is a song recorded by the Sweden-based musician and producer Dr Alban. It was released in May 1994 as the second single from his third studio album Look Who's Talking. This dance song was released in 1994 and met a smaller success in comparison with the previous Dr Alban's singles.
Little is a surname in the English language. The name is ultimately derived from the Middle English littel, and the Old English lȳtel, which mean "little". In some cases the name was originally a nickname for a little man. In other cases, the name was used to distinguish the younger of two bearers of the same personal name. Early records of the name include: Litle, in 972; Litle, in about 1095; and le Lytle, in 1296. The surname has absorbed several non English-language surnames. For example, Little is sometimes a translation of the Irish Ó Beagáin, meaning "descendant of Beagán". Little can also be a translation of the French Petit and Lepetit, as well as other surnames in various languages with the same meaning ("little"), especially the German name Klein during World War II.
Believe it or not but this place is in India. When I first saw this place I was speechless and thought why we run behind foreign locations when India itself has some unique ones. Little Andaman is surprisingly little known and not much people know about it. Main tourist crowd goes to havelock and neil but there are some hidden treasures in little andaman like this lagoon. It is one of the largest Island in Andamans, yet it's remote location makes it the least visited. Those that do make the journey will stumble across pristine beaches, waterfalls, astonishingly cheap food, alcohol and accommodation, locals so friendly they feel like family. At Kalapathar, three large rocks guarding the mighty Indian Ocean forming a natural pool where water can only enter through the large holes of the cav...

We had a lay-day and decided to check this waterfall deep inside the jungles of Little Andaman Islands. It was a nearly 2-hour bike ride in a non-existent trail and another 30-40 minutes of a hike to get to the waterfall. But it was truly worth all the effort and pain to get there and also the fact that we were lucky to come back alive without knowing there were crocodiles in the downstream of the waterfalls.
