Rivers of Our Time - Kaveri River India
The river Kaveri is among the most sacred rivers of India and revered as Dakshina Ganga or Ganges of the South. Rising from the hills at Talakaveri in Karnataka, it journeys down into Tamilnadu through a magnificent series of temple towns, famed for philosophy, art and music. The Kaveri river delta is a fertile and prosperous stretch of nearly 28000 square miles. People living along the Kaveri delta thank the river Goddess through a festival called Adi Perukku that falls in the month of August every year. The name translates as Adi or swell when the level of the water rises dramatically. Different communities may celebrate the festival differently -- but the main purpose for all is to pay tribute to the Kaveri's life-sustaining properties. The ritual dates back to the ancient period and was patronized by royal households. It is a religious festival that celebrates the Kaveri's constant rebirth.

Narpat is furious while Ambica rebukes Kaveri for doing such a shameful act. However, Saloni intervenes and tells Ambica to forget everything as Kaveri has already apologised to her. Kaveri feels humiliated when Samar also chides her and walks away. Kaveri later phones Chaudhary, who gets furious when she lies to him that Ambica had slapped her. In a fit of rage, Chaudhary asks Kaveri to leave that house immediately and come to him. Samar gets irked to see Kaveri packing her bags. Kaveri tells Samar to leave with her, but Samar chides Kaveri and tells her that he is not going to leave his parents. Meanwhile, Nahar calls Saloni's place and expresses his desire to take Saloni out with him. Ambica agrees and tells Saloni to get ready. Later, Kaveri leaves the house and tells Samar that she will never return. However, she is shocked when her mother does not take her in the house and asks her to return to Samar's place as the income-tax sleuths have raided their house. On the other hand, Saloni gets stunned when she finds Neel singing at the same restaurant where she is having dinner with Nahar. Nahar is impressed with Neel's singing and further gets surprised to know that Saloni and Neel know each other.

Kaveri urges Saloni to take Shubra's cell phone so that Karan cannot call her. Kaveri tells Saloni that she feels that Karan may convince Shubra to return to him. Saloni agrees with Kaveri and takes Shubra's phone on pretext of calling Nahar. Later, everyone from Saloni's family goes to Nahar's place to attend a pre-nuptial ceremony. However, Saloni tells Bhabho that she will honour every decision of Brijesh. Meanwhile, Gayatri and Kaveri get shocked when Narpat and Ambica return home dejected. He tells Brijesh that Kaveri is not concerned about Ambica's health; there is something else which is bothering her. Nahar makes it clear that he will not let Saloni go with Kaveri unless she bows to his demand.
