Mickley Park - A Custom Build Stately Home, Yorkshire
Find out more at www.homebuilding.co.uk This grand stately home is in fact the result of the passion and drive of its owner, who self-built it from scratch to resemble a period home (and replace a run-down farmhouse) but enjoy all the benefits of modern construction. It is built out of innovative hempcrete blocks and incorporates many eco features.

Keeping Up Appearances 1.3 "Stately Home" {12 November 1990}
Hyacinth drags Richard off for a day out in the country — but decides to visit her father first. When she arrives it turn out that he has 'escaped' from Daisy and Onslow's house by climbing down a drainpipe dressed as "Captain Midnight"! Apparently, he's gone to save the woman at the Post Office from a "fate worse than death" at the hands of aliens. Hyacinth and Richard then visit a stately home — Carldon Hall. Hyacinth insists on hanging around the family staircase hoping to meet nobility. To her dismay, Onslow, Daisy and Rose turn up, forcing them to make a hasty exit! Guest starring Michael Bilton.

AR Drone 2.0 - Flying around Elvaston Castle stately home - iPhone + Parrot FreeFlight App
Here is a full flight video I made at Elvaston Castle Country while flying my Parrot AR Drone 2.0 I enjoy flying near and around buildings to get views you just can't see from the ground. Here my focus was the main House at Elvaston. (I have set the location to Castle estate as accurately as YouTube allows so you can easily see from above what the overall design is from Google Earth etc.) The Park encompasses approx. 200 acres of open parkland, woodland and more formal historical gardens. At the heart of the estate lies Elvaston Castle (the house), a gothic revival masterpiece (that is not open to the public) designed by James Wyatt in the early 1800's based on the original house dating back to 1633. Wyatt's design, built for the third Earl of Harrington, became home to the Stanhope family until the estate was sold by the then Earl of Harrington to us in 1968. In 1970 the estate was opened as one of the first country parks in England and today both the buildings and gardens are registered (Grade 2 and Grade 2*) as being of special architectural and historical interest. In addition, within the estate, structures such as the recently renovated Golden Gates, Moorish Temple and Ha Ha wall provide a fascinating glimpse of the past. The grounds and gardens are locally renowned for their rockwork structures and fine examples of topiary, originally introduced and designed by William Barron in the 19th Century. This is one of my favourite places to visit. Free to enter, just a ...

"Woburn Abbey": Stately House, Bedfordshire, England
Woburn Abbey, comprising Woburn Park and its buildings, was originally founded as a Cistercian abbey in 1145. Other Stately Houses/Palaces on my Channel Old Royal Naval Collage; youtu.be Tower Of London; youtu.be Blenheim Palace; youtu.be Blickling Hall; youtu.be Warwick Castle; youtu.be Taken from its monastic residents by Henry VIII and given to John Russell, 1st Earl of Bedford in 1547, it became the seat of the Russell family and the Dukes of Bedford. The Abbey was largely rebuilt starting in 1744 by the architects Henry Flitcroft and Henry Holland for the 4th Duke. Anna Maria, the wife of the 7th Duke, originated the afternoon tea ritual in 19th-century England

Open Up: Stately Home
SIGN THE PETITION: www.openupnow.org It's time to Open Up politics. Respect for the UK's political system continues to plummet at a time when we need great government and a strong democracy more than ever. But together we can do something about it. This is what Open Up is about. We want an honest, effective and modern democracy. We want a government of the best possible people, who truly represent us. It's not just about expenses. It's about reforming our political system. The way Parliament is run and government does business must change - and getting the best possible people into office is the starting point. That's why we want the people, not the politicians, to select who stands for election. That's why we want Open Primaries in every constituency, where the people select their own candidates, and where anyone can put themselves forward to be a candidate. We want this before the next General Election. And this is what Open Up is calling on every political party to do.
