Tilia is a genus of about 30 species of trees native throughout most of the temperate Northern Hemisphere. Commonly called lime trees in the British Isles, they are not closely related to the lime fruit. Other names include basswood and linden. The genus occurs in Europe and eastern North America, but the greatest species diversity is found in Asia. Under the Cronquist classification system, this genus was placed in the family Tiliaceae, but genetic research summarized by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group has resulted in the incorporation of this genus into the Malvaceae.
Tilia species are mostly large, deciduous trees, reaching typically 20 to 40 metres (66 to 130 ft) tall, with oblique-cordate leaves 6 to 20 centimetres (2 to 8 in) across. As with elms, the exact number of species is uncertain, as many if not most of the species will hybridise readily, both in the wild and in cultivation. Limes are hermaphroditic, having perfect flowers with both male and female parts, pollinated by insects.
The Linden Tree is a 1947 play by the English dramatist J. B. Priestley. It makes use of the Elgar Cello Concerto.
It was revived at the Orange Tree Theatre in 2006 and at the Pentameters Theatre in 2011

Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837 until her death. From 1 May 1876, she had the additional title of Empress of India.
Victoria was the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, the fourth son of King George III. Both the Duke of Kent and King George III died in 1820, and Victoria was raised under close supervision by her German-born mother Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. She inherited the throne aged 18, after her father's three elder brothers had all died, leaving no surviving legitimate children. The United Kingdom was already an established constitutional monarchy, in which the sovereign held relatively little direct political power. Privately, Victoria attempted to influence government policy and ministerial appointments; publicly, she became a national icon who was identified with strict standards of personal morality.
Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1840. Their nine children married into royal and noble families across the continent, tying them together and earning her the sobriquet "the grandmother of Europe". After Albert's death in 1861, Victoria plunged into deep mourning and avoided public appearances. As a result of her seclusion, republicanism temporarily gained strength, but in the latter half of her reign her popularity recovered. Her Golden and Diamond Jubilees were times of public celebration.

The linden tree is often easier to find planted in cities that it is in the countryside of the U.S.. Still it makes a great medicinal for relaxing, to bring down anxiety, and as a charcoal for acidy stomach, poison, or plasters. As alonealotta mentions below, in some cities the trees are sprayed. Be sure to check to see if the ones in your area are and avoid those if you can. Thanks alonealotta for the reminder.
How to grow linden trees from seed! I got these seeds from a famous linden tree at the Ocean Edge Resort in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, which is a humongous and magnificent tree under which many weddings are held. The tree has to be at least one or two hundred years old-- at least-- and I am so excited to grow its seeds. ************************************************** Subscribe to my channel, Interactive Gardening! :D https://www.youtube.com/c/InteractiveGardening
DNAPROTEINN tells me "in Russian is The Linden Tree is ЛИПА" Balalaika Favorites. From the liner notes: One of Mercury's "first ever" recordings made in the Soviet Union by non Soviet technicians and musical staff, using equipment brought in especially for the sessions. This unique recording event was made possible through the extensive cooperative efforts of top authorities in Moscow as well as officials in the U. S. A. The first exploratory correspondence to this venture began as early as 1958. In spite of the continuing display of interest by both Mercury and representatives of the Soviet recording industry, progress toward the actual realization of the project was slow until the end of 1961. The go-ahead signal for a series of recordings to be made in the Soviet Union ...

Saper dove andare…
Questa ciurma ribelle…
Un incerto futuro…
Lontano andrei…
Volevo fare il pompiere
La tv sforna eroi
Impossibili e belli
Come un sogno irreale
Ho fatto il fuochista
Mi son dato da fare
E col vento e col fuoco
Il fuochista e il pompiere
Ma il futuro non ? come un sogno
Cancellato ma vivo… l’uomo ? sempre l?
Combatte e si innamora
La terra arde viva… chi l’ascolter??
Nostra madre terra
In attesa sta
Ma dal nuovo nulla il fuoco continuer?
Saper dove andare
Lontano andrei…
Vecchi cani bastardi…
Cos? siamo noi…
Per fratello un fuochista
Per amico un bandito
E con loro che vivo
Non me ne vergogno mai
Una ciurma ribelle
Incerto futuro
Saper dove andare…
