Cycling for Culture/ Che Cockatoo Collin - 2013
Cycling for Culture is a unique blend of cycling, Aboriginal cultural experience and fundraising. Held for the first time in 2013, the inaugural event is a three day ride through Kaurna Country or in Kaurna language: "Maityuwampidlu Kaurna yarta-arra". Riders will visit sites of significance for the Kaurna people and discover a part of the history of a place that most of us would know as the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Adelaide Hills or northern metropolitan Adelaide. We will listen to Kaurna Elders' story-telling, experience cultural practices, learn some Kaurna language and get a better understanding of the lives of the Kaurna people past and present.- published: 02 Oct 2013
