A lecture from 1999 in Amsterdam. Paul Stamets is on the editorial board of The International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms, and is an advisor to the Program for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Medical School, Tucson, Arizona. He is active in researching the medicinal properties of mushrooms, and is involved in two NIH-funded clinical studies on cancer and HIV treatments using mushrooms as adjunct therapies. Having filed numerous patents on the antiviral, pesticidal, and remediative properties of mushroom mycelia, his work has been called pioneering and visionary. A strong advocate of preserving biodiversity, Stamets supports research into the role of mushrooms for ecological restoration. The author of numerous books and papers on the subject of mushroom identification and cultivation, Stamets has discovered four new species of mushrooms. He is an advocate of the permaculture system of growing, and considers fungiculture a valuable but underutilized aspect of permaculture. He is also a leading researcher into the use of mushrooms in bioremediation, processes he terms mycoremediation and mycofiltration. www.fungi.com

Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.

Dirk and Jesper will spend a year going from California through Europe and end in Japan in search of the coolest Kustom Kulture people and events on the planet. Picking the brains of living legends, up and coming artists and builders within the culture.
The guys seek out some of the hottest Kustom Kulture spots and get some of the worlds best car and motorcycle builders, tattoo artists, pinstripers, custom painters and pin-up models to share their tricks and experience.
Who are these two morons?
Dirk Behlau, aka „The Pixeleye“, born in 1971, is an internationally acclaimed designer and photographer from Cologne/Germany. Since 1999, he has created individual high-class solutions for international customers in his design-studio „Pixeleye Interactive“.

Dirk Behlau has previously directed the DVD “Drag Racing – Turtman Switzerland 2007”, as well as shot several trailers and teasers for the legendary finnish rockband Leningrad Cowboys and other bands.
Jesper Bram, born 1973 is a renowned Danish pinstriper and artist. He has a strong background in advertising and holds multiple awards and nominations in graphic design. As an entrepreneur, Jesper has been involved in several large scale international projects since the mid nineties.
Jesper has been into custom cars and motorcycles since childhood and has been drawing just as long. In 2009 he founded his automotive pinstriping and design studio J.Bram Kustom Graphics.

Zooey Deschanel (born January 17, 1980) is an American actress, musician, and singer-songwriter.
