US v. Moussaoui Oral Argument
US v. Moussaoui Oral Argument - US Court of Appeals - 285180-1-DVD - 2009-01-26 - The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, heard oral argument in US v. Moussaoui. The Court would decide if Zacarias Moussaoui should have his conviction overturned. Zacarias Moussaoui pleaded guilty in 2005 to six terrorism conspiracy counts. He admitted that he plotted with al-Qaeda terrorists to fly airplanes into US buildings that led to the September 11, 2001, attacks. His attorneys are arguing that court-imposed secrecy undermined Mr. Moussaoui's ability to present an adequate defense. He was deprived of his constitutional rights because he was confused about the charges and did not know that other al-Qaeda members had given information to interrogators that could have cleared him. If the conviction is overturned, Mr. Moussaoui's attorneys would seek to win a new trial. This program contained the audio recording released by the court. Still images of participants were shown on the screen as they spoke. Filmed by C-SPAN. Non-commercial use only. For more information, see www.c-spanvideo.org

Ex-CIA Boss George Tenet Telling a 9/11 Lie
In 2005, Zacarias Moussaoui pled guilty to 9/11 terrorism. In August 2001, the FBI in Minneapolis had Moussaoui in custody and wanted to search his laptop. For this they needed the cooperation of the FBI headquarters in Washington for a search warrant request. The request was denied because the CIA lied to the FBI while telling them that Moussaoui had "extremist views" but that their report from Paris "didn't say Al Qaeda or anything like that." See this scan of a page from the Time article which reports this false statement by the CIA. It might be necessary to use the mouse to enlarge the scan: bellaciao.org It is also at my Facebook album (3rd scan). There are other documents from my 9/11 investigation: www.facebook.com After he made a speech at the University of Oklahoma in March of 2005, I asked Tenet about this, and he lied again by claiming that TIME magazine was "absolutely wrong." Below is a transcript of this brief dialogue between me and Tenet: Wright: [introducing myself] Mike Wright. Mr. Tenet, Time reported in June of 2002 about the fact that in August 2001 the FBI headquarters was being confronted with a request from its Minneapolis agents to search the computer of Zacarias Moussaoui Tenet: [interrupting]: Right. Wright: And reported that the CIA erroneously painted up Moussaoui to be just a religious extremist, Tenet: [interrupting] That's not true. Wright: but not an Al Qaeda member. Well, obviously it wasn't true. My question to you is how do you account ...

The New York Times Company v. City of New York Fire Department 2005 New York Court of Appeals
New York Court of Appeals 2/09/2005, C-SPAN Product ID: 185516-1 From C-SPAN's Description: The New York Court of Appeals heard oral argument in the matter of The New York Times Company v. City of New York Fire Department. The New York Times filed a state Freedom of Information Law request in January 2002 to receive access to transcripts of radio calls, 911 calls, and 500 FDNY oral histories regarding the September 11th attacks. The FDNY denied the request, saying these materials are not public record - and in addition that they will be used in the investigation and prosecution of accused September 11 hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui. The New York Times, supported by nine September 11 family members, appealed the denial and won a split decision. They are appealing to the state high court in an attempt to have all three categories of material made public.

Inside the Gitmo Courtroom - Edward MacMahon
Complete video at: fora.tv Edward MacMahon, defense attorney for convicted 9/11 terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui, describes the courtroom at Gitmo, which claims to be designed to prevent unwanted information from leaking to the public. "Guantánamo is the perfect place to actually bury all of this information," says MacMahon, referring to the courtroom's soundproof glass and power kill button. ----- What is involved in defending some of the most despised men in the world? Edward B. MacMahon is a veteran trial lawyer based in Washington, DC who served as counsel to Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person charged in an American court with having a role in the 9/11 attacks. He presently is counsel to Walid Muhammad Salih Bin'Attash in a trial before a military commission at Guantanamo. Bin'Attash is charged with bombing the USS Cole and with the 9/11 attacks. Edward MacMahon has been practicing criminal law since 1986, and has represented numerous clients charged with offenses related to national security as well as clients facing the death penalty. For example, in the 1980s, Mr. MacMahon represented one of the Army officers tried by Court Martial in the Iran-Contra case. More recently, he was lead counsel in the case of United States v. al-Timimi, who was charged with soliciting others to levy war against the United States and inducing others to use firearms in violation of federal law. Although that case is currently on appeal, it was recently sent back to the district court for ...

Trying Alleged Terrorists: Article III Courts and Military Tribunals
One of the most vexing problems confronting our nation is how best to try alleged terrorists. Are they best tried in Article III courts, military tribunals, or should they be tried at all? This panel assembles a stellar team of military and constitutional law experts, and the judge, principal prosecutor and principal defense counsel in the trial of "twentieth hijacker" Zacarias Moussaoui. Evidentiary issues, discovery, courtroom security, media and public access, confrontation issues, jury management, and other topics that can be especially challenging in trying alleged terrorists will be debated by panelists. Introduction: Hon. Milan D. Smith, Jr., Circuit Judge Member, Conference Executive Committee Moderator: Jack Landman Goldsmith, Henry L. Shattuck Professor of Law, Harvard Law School Panelists: Hon. US v. Moussaoui Second Oral Argument
US v. Moussaoui Second Oral Argument - US Court of Appeals - 289601-1-DVD - 2009-09-25 - The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, heard oral argument in US v. Moussaoui's ability to present an adequate defense and that his guilty plea was invalid because he was denied evidence potentially helpful to his case and restricted in choosing his own counsel. He was deprived of his constitutional rights because he was confused about the charges and did not know that other al-Qaeda members had given information to interrogators that could have cleared him. If the conviction is overturned, Mr. Moussaoui's attorneys would seek to win a new trial. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals heard this case in January 2009, but ordered a rehearing after one member of the panel, Chief Judge Karen Williams, retired for health reasons before the case could be decided. Former State Department Terrorism Expert Describes Moussaoui-Atta Meeting
This was broadcast in May of 2002. Some of the discussion between O'Reilly and terrorism expert Larry Johnson is about the Oklahoma City bombing. At 3:39 Johnson begins to describe the meeting between confessed 9/11 terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui and hijacker Mohammed Atta. The meeting took place in an Oklahoma City motel. This interview is significant because the 9/11 Commission lied and said that they were unaware of any evidence of a meeting between Atta and Moussaoui. On pages 246-247 of the Commission's final report, they discuss Moussaoui's activities during that period. They write: "KSM also states that Moussaoui had no contact with Atta, and we are unaware of evidence contradicting this assertion." www.9-11commission.gov I told the Commission about this meeting. The email I sent them in September 2003 is online here. You might need to use the Mozilla Firefox browser to access this website: bellaciao.org Why did the Commission lie about this? They were probably protecting David Boren, the former US Senator who is widely known as the mentor and sponsor of ex-CIA director George Tenet. Boren resigned his Senate seat in 1994 and became the president of the University of Oklahoma. After the 9/11 attack, Boren worked feverishly to keep the spotlight off of Oklahoma. In my email to the 9/11 Commission, I told them that Boren had a close association with Commission member Jim Thompson. Go here for a video of Tenet telling a 9/11 lie at a speech he made at OU in March 2005 ...
