Beauty of The Wide Receiver Position
(All rights go to the NFL and NCAA. I do not own the music and the footage used in this video. No copyright infringement intended. I do not gain any profit from my videos. For entertainment purposes only) Music- Square Dance by Eminem Highlights of great route running and some football drills I found on Youtube. I decided to string together a bunch of great wide receivers routes to hopefully give some players some sort of help if they can study some of these routes and notice the little nouances the receivers have in their routes. I'm not trying to "steal" other people's videos just wanted to put together a mix of great route running into one video

2012 NFL Draft Wide Receivers
These are the 2012 NFL Draft class of Wide Receivers. These are the best wide outs in the nation and some of the best all around playmakers in the draft this year. Guys like Justin Blackmon, Alshon Jefferey, Michael Floyd, Rueben Randle, Kendall Wright, Joe Adams, Marvin McNutt, BJ Cunningham, Nick Toon and Stephen Hill. These are their best catches, runs, returns and highlights from college. I could have made a lot longer video but I thought this was enough to get the main idea of each of the top players at this position. There are a lot of other great WR's in this class not included but they will definitely get drafted in April and play on Sundays as well.

How To Be A Good Wide Receiver by Desean Jackson: Part 2 (Routes)
For the post route I have to get wide enough because I know I'm breaking inside but at the same time when you come to the line of scrimmage, for my offense, the post is on a 7 step stem. At the same time you have to count your steps in order to be on timing with your quarterback. If you're not on time with Michael Vick that ball will hit you right in the head and you'll be knocked out. So I have to come to the line of scrimmage and if the quarterback is inside to the left, my left foot will actually be up front. My right foot, which is the back foot, is the one I'm going to use to explode and count my steps. And the right foot should be the last step of the seventh stem to cut inside to catch the post.A slant route is a huge route. It catches the defense off guard actually. It's a quick route. Our slant route is three steps. Inside foot is up, of course, because the quarterback is inside to my left so my left foot will be up once again. In this route I want to attack the defender and make him think I'm going deep because it's really a short route so I need to threaten him to think I'm going deep so he opens up. But from there I'm taking three hard steps and on my last third one I'm sticking hard and coming inside and catching a quick slant. Don't forget about that slant route. It's huge. The importance of precise route running is critical. Without being precise and without knowing what you're doing within the timing and being on the right steps in your offense, it's not ...
