Mysticism and Science-CG Jung
The rift between mysticism and the modern sciences derives mainly from elements of scientism in the latter: certain branches of the natural sciences, broadly disavow subjective experience as meaningless, misunderstanding the limitations of the ancient languages. Physicist David Bohm speaking of consciousness expressing itself as matter and/or energy would be completely understood by the mystic, whatever his cultural/religious heritage. The mystic's attempt to describe cause and effect between one's internal state and the miraculous, hints at a close connection between psychological stability (ego transcendence) and the mysterious realm of causality quantum physicists are now deciphering - dimensional reality shifts that synchronize with states of consciousness and unconflicted choices. Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who groundbreaking work in depth psychology was greatly influenced by his exploration of alchemy, astrology, and mythology. Jung introduce the concept of psychological archetypes into psychotherapy. A student and follower of Sigmund Freud, he broke tradition with Freud, who ideas about the development of the psychical processes he found too limiting. Jung spent a great deal of his time doing his own personal introspection which influenced his ideas on the role of spirituality, dreams, and art as important components of the integrative process. Carl Jung was particularly important in rediscovering and bringing to light the ...

The Mystic Heart - Part 1- The Supreme Identity
In this dialogue series, Brother Wayne Teasdale and Ken Wilber discuss the advent of an integral mysticism in the postmodern world. Reflecting on their own spiritual experiences, the relation of science to spirituality, the lives of the great inter-spiritual pioneers, and how youth culture is revitalizing the mystical traditions, Brother Wayne and Ken show how an integral perspective can bring the revelations of mysticism into everyday life. In so doing, we learn to give fullest expression—as parents and professionals, students and seekers—to the Mystic Heart in each of us. If, as historian Arnold Toynbee put it, the introduction of Buddhism into the West "may well prove to be the most important event of the 20th century," we might also argue that the re-discovery of the contemplative roots of Christianity will be equally important. And as we enter the 21st century, it stands to reason that the recognition of a common mystical ground between Buddhism, Christianity, and the other World Religions will be the most important event of all.

Banaras A Mystic Love Story
'Banaras: A Mystic Love Story' explores the various forms of love. It dares to find a meaningful solution to the clash between rationality and blind faith and between what is visible and what is possible. Woven in the narrative are the themes that represent the eternal city of Banaras. The film has been shot at picturesque locations across Banaras as well as the exhilarating locales of Mauritius. The locations used in the film include the house of Kabir, the great weaver-saint, the Ramgarh Palace and Sarnath. The film's crew was also given special access to shoot the original manuscript of "Ramcharit Manas" written by Tulsidas and the famed Puja at the Vishwanath temple.

Synaesthesia in Mystical Traditions
Experiences in which the senses are intermingled in usual ways are a common motif in the descriptions that mystics provide of their unordinary sensory experiences. This workshop examines the phenomenon of synaesthesia from a multi-disciplinary perspective in order to advance our understanding of the relationship between synaesthesia, metaphor, creativity, and religious and artistic practices. Manly Hall - Mystical Life of the American Indians
Manly Palmer Hall was a Canadian-born author and mystic. He is perhaps most famous for his work The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy, which is widely regarded as his magnum opus, and which he published at the age of 27. He has been widely recognized as a leading scholar in the fields of religion, mythology, mysticism, and the occult. In 1934, Hall founded the Philosophical Research Society (PRS) in Los Angeles, California, dedicating it to an idealistic approach to the solution of human problems. The PRS claims to be non-sectarian and entirely free from educational, political, or ecclesiastical control, and the Society's programs stress the need for the integration of philosophy, religion, and science into one system of instruction. The PRS Library, a public facility devoted to source materials in obscure fields, has many rare and scarce items now impossible to obtain elsewhere. In 1973 (47 years after writing The Secret Teachings of All Ages), Hall was recognized as a 33º Mason (the highest honor conferred by the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite), at a ceremony held at PRS on December 8th, despite never being initiated into the physical craft. In his over 70-year career, Hall delivered approximately 8000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 150 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles. www.manlyphall.org www.prs.org

Mystical Dream
thegic.org (Loreena McKennitt)A clouded dream on an earthly night Hangs upon the crescent moon A voiceless song in an ageless light Sings at the coming dawn Birds in flight are calling there Where the heart moves the stones There that my heart is longing for All for the love of you A painting hangs on an ivy wall Nestled in the emerald moss The eyes declare a truce of trust Then it draws me far away Where deep in the desert twilight Sand melts in pools of the sky Darkness lays her crimson cloak Your lamps will call, call me home And so it's there that my homage's due Clutch-ed by the still of the night Now I feel, feel you move And every breath, breath is full So it's there my homage's due Clutch-ed by the still of the night Even the distance feels so near All for the love of you A clouded dream on an earthly night Hangs upon the crescent moon A voiceless song in an ageless light Sings at the coming dawn Birds in flight are calling there Where the heart moves the stones There at my heart is longing for All for the love of you

Heidi Moore on Market Mysticism and Trading the Stars w/Financial Astrology!
Check us out on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. In today's show, we discuss the legacy of the financial crisis; a legacy that is still being "unwound" through the "too-big-to-fail" banking system, a cliché that our guest Heidi Moore, says may be too simplistic. Bank of America announces a proposed settlement for a class action lawsuit with shareholders over the shady Merrill Lynch acquisition (turned shotgun wedding), in which it will pay 2.4 billion dollars. A few months after the acquisition our guest, Heidi Moore, the NY bureau chief of Marketplace, wrote an article calling it the '$50 Billion Deal From Hell'. She now says the settlement is a pittance compared to what shareholders lost in a deal that lacked even the slightest amount of due diligence - due diligence that would have exposed tremendous losses for Bank of America if it were to absorb the large investment bank run by John Thain. BofA is also laying off workers, in part from the pinch of the Countrywide acquisition. We discuss these stories, as well as the broader question of how much these financial crisis related issues are still affecting wall street today, 5 years after the fact. Is the banking system at all healthier today than it was in 2008, and have we seen any significant changes in so far as disclosure is concerned? And, with interest rates at zero and investors chasing for yield wherever they can find it, are traders turning to the mystics ...

MYSTICAL WOODS
walking the layers of tranquility... under the dying sun I walk upon the meadows of silence bearing the scent of deserted woods towards the twilight... towards my lost home... all that remains from the emptiness inside is my memory of you feeding the sorrow and the dream of forever running through the night the forest is my playground In the autumn evening

Quantum Physics and Buddhism
by anonymous through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This very insightful piece explains the similarites and differences between the Quantum physical view of the Universe and that of Buddhism. Once again, that great scientist and experientialist the Buddha, has had insights quite some millenia ahead of his time!

The Mystic Heart - Part 3 - Intellectual Illumination
