Woman claims to have filmed UFO Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire
The strange sighting which the Ritchie family claim is proof of a UFO. Morag Ritchie, 50, from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, was stunned when she woke suddenly in the middle of the night to be greeted by flashing lights in the sky above her home. Morag ran through the house to wake her family up before her daughter's fiancee, Scott Bower, caught the images on video.

Scenes from Banff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Banff is a town in the Banff and Buchan area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Banff is situated on Banff Bay and faces the town of Macduff across the estuary of the River Deveron. Banff is a former burgh, and until 1975 was the county town of Banffshire. Banff's first castle was built to repel Viking invaders and a charter of 1163 AD shows that Malcolm IV was living there at that time. During this period the town was a busy trading centre in the "free hanse" of Northern Scottish burghs, despite not having its own harbour until 1775. The first recorded Sheriff of Banff was Richard de Strathewan in 1264, and in 1372 Royal Burgh status was conferred by King Robert II. By the 15th century Banff was one of three principal towns exporting salmon to the continent of Europe, along with Aberdeen and Montrose. Banff and Macduff are separated by the valley of the River Deveron. This unpredictable river was finally tamed by the seven arched bridge completed in 1779[5] by John Smeaton. An earlier bridge had been built in 1765, but was swept away in 1768. The old ferry was brought back into use, until it was lost in a flood in 1773. 0:03 - Panorama overlooking the North Sea, Macduff, the bridge crossing the River Deveron and the grounds of Banff Castle. 3:17 - Banff High Street.

UFO hovers above house in rural Scotland for 4hrs - Aberdeenshire January 2013
London, Oct 19 2012 A family from Scotland has claimed that a UFO spent four hours hovering above their rural home in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire on Saturday. Morag Ritchie, 50, said that she was woken up in the middle of the night by flashing lights in the sky. The grandmother-of-one woke her family up and her daughter's fiance captured the images of four blinking lights on video. "We live in a very rural area so I never have my curtains closed and I like looking at the night sky," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying. "I just woke up all of a sudden and looked out of the window to see all these twinkling lights - they looked like they were moving. "I was quite apprehensive about it. I'm standing there looking at it and I'm thinking 'is it watching me?' so I went around the house telling everyone and they all came to have a look," she said. Ritchie said that she saw a circular object hovering and spinning around. "Eventually we all went back to bed. I woke up a further two times, the second time was about four hours later and it was still there, but when I next woke up it was daylight and they had gone. Ritchie's daughter, Cara, 27, had got out up to feed her baby at 3 am on Saturday night when she first heard about the sighting. "I was quite mesmerised by it all to be honest although my fiance Scott, was pretty scared," Cara said. "He was smoking at the back door where you could see the lights from and he was genuinely frightened, he kept the door half open so he wasn't ...

Osprey chick stolen from nest by buzzard on 25 June 2012 in Aberdeenshire
This rare and shocking footage shows a buzzard taking a 3 1/2 week old osprey chick from its nest in Aberdeenshire at around 10pm on Monday 25 June 2012. Rural business owner Euan Webster was appalled and saddened when he witnessed one of two Osprey chicks being fledged in a nest on his property being snatched from the nest by a Buzzard earlier this week. As the female Osprey left her nest, the Buzzard swooped down on the nest at Lochter in Aberdeenshire and stole one of the chicks. Osprey chicks are extremely precious and are currently being managed to ensure the future of their species. The half eaten carcass of the Osprey chick has now been recovered near the nest and is to be handed over to SASA (Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture - the Scottish Government laboratories) for proper analysis. Mr Webster has 24/7 video surveillance on the nest for both wildlife watching for the enjoyment of the public in addition to protecting the rare Ospreys. . He said: "This was a shocking act and clearly demonstrates why something needs to be done to control buzzards. It cannot be right that the buzzard remains protected yet they swarm over the countryside in large numbers eating prey -- including iconic and beautiful birds such as Ospreys -- at will. "Any farmer or shepherd will tell you about the threat from Buzzards yet the powers that be are reluctant to face up to the fact that sooner rather than later measures have to put in place to control Buzzards. This incident ...

The grounds of Balmoral Castle, Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK
Balmoral Castle has been one of the residences of the British Royal Family since 1852, when it was purchased by Queen Victoria and her consort, Prince Albert. It remains the private property of the monarch, and is not part of the state-owned Crown Estate. The Balmoral Estate has been added to by successive members of the Royal Family, and now covers an area of about 20000 hectares (49000 acres). It is a working estate, including grouse moors, forestry and farmland, as well as managed herds of deer, Highland cattle and ponies. Balmoral Estate is within the Cairngorms National Park, and is partly within the Deeside and Lochnagar National Scenic Area. The estate contains a wide variety of landscapes, from the Dee Valley to open mountains. There are seven Munros (hills in Scotland over 3000 feet (910 m)) in the estate, the highest being Lochnagar at 1155 metres (3789 ft). The mountain was the setting for a children's story, The Old Man of Lochnagar, told originally by Prince Charles to his younger brothers, Andrew and Edward, and published during 1980. Most of the Castle is out of bounds to the public and those which are open, forbid any photography. This video just shows the grounds, but it will give you a pretty good idea of the extent to this grand estate. 0:03 - Outside the gates. 0:13 - Shuttle bus departs. 0:33 - Going up the long drive up to the castle. You can see that the route is surrounded by lovely tall trees. 3:24 - Inside the first exhibition hall displaying the ...
