Barack Obama opposed the war in Iraq as a state senator from Illinois in 2002 and 2003, saying that Saddam Hussein, although a dictator, was no threat to the US and military intervention was uncalled for. As a US Senator from Illinois (and Constitutional lawyer, mind you), he criticized the Bush Administration in 2007 for threatening to bomb Iran without Congressional use-of-force authorization. As President, Obama has done the exact same thing in Libya that Senator/Constitutional Lawyer Obama said the President did not have the authority to do, for the very reason that state senator Obama once ruled out as a valid reason for war. Where was the change we were promised? This is just more of the same.
