Women of the Year 2006 - Phetsile Kholekile Dlamini-Nkomo
Phetsile Kholekile Dlamini-Nkomo, the second of fi ve children, was born into a faithful, Adventist family in Swaziland. A rural farmer, Phetsile's father valued education and sent her to Mbukwane Seventh-day Adventist School, the first Adventist secondary school in Swaziland. In 1970, she completed a B.Sc. degree at the University of Lesotho, and then proceeded to the University of Ghana to study medicine. After completing her internship in Natal, South Africa, she joined the staff of Hlathikhulu Government Hospital, Swaziland, in 1976 and soon became its director. She also directed 22 rural clinics. "Thereafter, Dr. Dlamini continued her specialization and obtained a master's degree in pediatrics in 1985 at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and in 1986 a Fellowship Degree with the College of Physicians (pediatrics) in South Africa. Following her return to Swaziland in 1987, she began a private rural practice, bringing health and healing to thousands of infants and children. Six years later, recognizing her professional standing and community service, the Parliament of Swaziland secondarily (ie, without standing for election) elected her to this august body. In 1996 Dr. Dlamini was appointed as the Minister for Health and Social Welfare," according to Percy Peters of Dialogue.

Swaziland Nude Native People - Documentary of Deed Kingdom
Swaziland, officially the Kingdom of Swaziland (Swazi: Umbuso weSwatini), and sometimes called Ngwane or Swatini, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, bordered to the north, south and west by South Africa, and to the east by Mozambique. The nation, as well as its people, are named after the 19th century king Mswati II. Swaziland is a small country, no more than 200 kilometres (120 mi) north to south and 130 kilometres (81 mi) east to west. The western half is mountainous, descending to a lowveld region to the east. The eastern border with Mozambique and South Africa is dominated by the escarpment of the Lebombo Mountains. The climate is temperate in the west, but may reach 40 °C (104 °F) in summer in the lowveld. Rainfall occurs mainly in the summer and may reach 2 metres (6.6 ft) in the west. The area that Swaziland now covers has been continuously inhabited since prehistory. Today, the population is primarily ethnic Swazis whose language is Swati, though English is spoken as a second language. The Swazi people descend from the southern Bantu who migrated from Central Africa in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Anglo-Boer War saw the United Kingdom make Swaziland a protectorate under its direct control. Swaziland gained independence in 1968. Swaziland is a member of the Southern African Development Community, the African Union, and the Commonwealth of Nations. The head of state is the king, who appoints the prime minister and a small number of representatives for ...

Swazi King Gets Birthday Jet Amid Financial Crisis
Swazi King Mswati III has received a jet for his 44th birthday, despite the tiny country's crippling financial crisis, the prime minister said on state radio Wednesday. Prime Minister Barnabas Dlamini said the king now owns a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 twin-engine jet, but insisted the plane was a gift to be used by Mswati and his 13 wives. "His majesty's government has the honour to announce to the nation that the king has received a gift of a DC-9 aircraft from development partners and friends of the king, to be used by their majesties for travels abroad," Dlamini said. Mswati celebrated his birthday on April 19 with a three million rand ($386000, 293000 euros), partly paid by the state. He is rated by Forbes magazine as the world's 15th richest monarch with a personal fortune of $100 million, but he reins over one of the world's poorest nations. Absolute monarchy The Swaziland Diaspora Platform, a human rights group based in South Africa, has rejected the government's explanation for the jet. "No development partner would want to be anonymous, by their nature development agencies are transparent," noted the Platform's spokeswoman Ntombenhle Khathwane. "We demand the release of full details of the donor and the value of the jet." The banned Pudemo opposition also accused Mswati of using taxpayer money. Another critic, Zakhele Mabuza, added: "He was secretly using it and only now do they feel bold enough to admit it. We have long said that this monarchy is a huge drain to ...

Mario Masuku criticizes the Swazi Constitution
With assistance from Pretoria, on April 12, 1973 Sobhuza II infamously declared: the Constitution of Independence had failed; it was the cause of growing unrest; it had permitted undesirable political practices; and there was no constitutional way to amend the Constitution. A State-of Emergency was declared and Sobhuza II assumed supreme power (Kuper 1978). Parliament was suspended for five years and when it reopened the royalist's tinkhundla system began to be enforced. The Constitution which was suspended in 1973 was eventually replaced thirty-three years later. In the brief video clip below, PUDEMO President lists the shortcomings of the so-called "new" Constitution. Masuku has been an outspoken critic of the Swazi regime for years and they think he can be silenced by prison. VIVA Mario VIVA!

LUCKY DUBE - REMEMBER ME - ( SOUTH AFRICA )
Remember me, um dos grandes sucessos de Lucky Dube, com fotos de sua terra natal, África do Sul, um dos mais belos países do continente africano. Local onde a natureza ainda é respeitada, com a maioria de seus animais vivendo em seus habitats naturais. The Republic of South Africa (also referred to as South Africa, SA or RSA) is a state in southern Africa. Located at the southern tip of Africa, it is divided into nine provinces, with 2798 kilometres (1739 mi) of coastline on the Atlantic and Indian oceans. To the north of the country lie the neighbouring territories of Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe; to the east are Mozambique and Swaziland; while Lesotho is an enclave surrounded by South African territory. South Africa is multi-ethnic and has diverse cultures and languages. Eleven official languages are recognised in the constitution. Two of these languages are of European origin: Afrikaans, a language which originated mainly from Dutch that is spoken by the majority of white and Coloured South Africans, and South African English. Though English is commonly used in public and commercial life, it is only the fifth most-spoken home language. All ethnic and language groups have political representation in the country's constitutional democracy comprising a parliamentary republic; unlike most parliamentary republics, the positions of head of state and head of government are merged in a parliament-dependent President. About 79.5% of the South African population is of black ...

Reporter's Voice in the 21st Century-Real Nompumelelo Kunene
Times of Swaziland Media- Reporter's Voice Expert By REAL NOMPUMELELO KUNENE: 100 795 911 Located in the heart of Swaziland, the Times of Swaziland Media covers all kinds of news such as gossip news, sports, business, crime and advertisement. Following this media for the past few days has made me realize that reporters do not have the same voice. For some reasons; this media has played a major role in bringing all the information together about the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs in Swaziland, Mr. Macford Sibandze. It is believed that after Swaziland Tourism Development Company (STDC) Limited sold Nhlangano Hotel and Casino, the Minister has been illegally spending the funds for his external travel. Back in 2007, Nhlangano Hotel and Casino was sold and the funds were deposited to the account of Swaziland Tourism Development Company (STDC). The top news of the week is that the funds of the Hotel have been used illegally by the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs. It is believed that the Minister is not part of the Parliament Accounts Committee (PAC) or the board of directors or the Public Enterprise Unit (PEU)," so he was not accountable to use any of the funds without first contacting the Committee members. The Times of Swaziland Newspaper is mainly tabloid because it is much smaller than broadsheet and it covers national as well as international news. News that were covered in the headlines were that: Macford Sibandze was found guilty for the ...

Same as old boss? New Egypt fails 'virginity test'
Egypt witnessed unprecedented scenes as millions turned out to vote for their future. But Tahrir protesters who boycotted the polls remain skeptical. With doubts already over the influence a new parliament will have, they're sure the autocratic hand of the military will continue to rule the country. RT's Anissa Naouai reports. Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein was the first of the royals to arrive for pre-lunch drinks in the Waterloo Chamber. He was followed by Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. Both of them were warmly welcomed by the Queen and the Duke of Edinborough with handshakes and double kisses on either cheek. After which the other royals to arrive was King Harald V and wife Queen Sonja of Norway who too were warmly received by the Queen. Next in line was Prince Albert II of Monaco with his lovely wife Princess Charlene. When Queen Beatrix of Netherland arrived she was most effusive in her greetings. She flung her arms open on meeting the British monarch and kissed her warmly on her cheeks. The British Royal family was represented by all its senior members including the Duchess of Cambridge. Accompanying her was her husband Prince William and brother-in-law, Prince Harry. Other younger royals included Prince Andrew's daughters, Princesses ...
