Chang-e or The Goddess on/of/in the Moon is a central character of Chinese myths and legends. She is remembered during Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival, where she is the central character - even to this day. People give 'mooncakes' in her honour, stare at the Moon in hopes of seeing her, and retell her sad tale of unrequited love. All Chinese peoples know her story...
Mid-autumn Day occurs on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and roundest.
Chang'e, Chang-e, Ch'ang-O or Chang-Ngo (Chinese: 嫦娥; pinyin: Cháng'é), originally known as Heng'e or Heng-O (姮娥; Héng'é, changed according to naming taboo), is the Chinese goddess of the moon.
In Mandarin her name sound like 'Chang-eur'; whilst Cantonese speakers know her as 'Seurng m'Ngor'
Unlike many lunar deities in other cultures who personify the moon, Chang'e only lives on the moon. As the "woman on the Moon", Chang'e could be considered the Chinese complement to the Western notion of a man in the moon.
Chang'e is the subject of several legends in Chinese mythology, most of which incorporate several of the following elements: Houyi the Archer, a benevolent or malevolent emperor, an elixir of life, and of course, the moon. The origin might have been borrowed from Hindu legend Chandra

Derryn Hinch is Australia's best radio person against Pedophiles and names Sex Offenders.
The year 2010 was a big one for Derryn Hinch, both personally and professionally. In January he passed a milestone. He celebrated his 50 years as a journalist. In September he was diagnosed with liver cancer and told he had only12 months to live unless he received a donor organ.
The year 2011, possibly his last, proved to be an even bigger one. Especially the month of July. On July 6, with only a few weeks to live, he received a life-saving liver transplant.
Two weeks later he sat in a Melbourne courtroom to be sentenced to five months under house arrest for breaching suppression orders and naming two serial child sex offenders at a Name Them and Shame Them rally on the steps of Parliament House and also on his old hinch.net website.
For 153 days he was banned from leaving his house except for medical appointments. Banned from broadcasting his radio program. [In fact, banned from any 'gainful employment'].And prohibited from using Twitter, emails, Facebook, granting interviews or having any contact with journalists.
He was even stopped from advertising his latest book, Human Headlines- My 50 Years in the Media even though it was published months before his sentencing.

Celebrating Womanhood 2013: Menstrual Hygiene Management
International conventions and action plans elaborate on women's sexual and reproductive rights but stop short of explicitly naming menstruation. WSSCC took a leading role to break the silence around Menstrual Hygiene Management through its hosting of a special seminar on International Women's Day 2013,
The meeting shared current directions in global research, policy and practice on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM). It took place 8 March 2013 at the United Nations Palais in Geneva, Switzerland.
Menstrual Hygiene remains a taboo subject, biologically centre stage but neglected in adolescent girls and women's health, education and quality of life. Even traditionally infrastructure focused sectors such as water and sanitation, used to dealing with unmentionables such as excreta and shit, ignore the gender dimensions of managing safe and hygienic disposal of menstrual blood, materials used to absorb it and the safe spaces to do so.
In these video clips, made by UNTV, Ms. Archana Patkar, WSSCC's Programme Manager for Networking and Knowledge Management, speaks about menstrual hygiene management, the taboos associated with it, and what can be done to "break the silence".
The footage also includes scenes from the meeting, as well as from WSSCC's formative research on menstrual hygiene management done in Bihar, India, in November 2012.
The meeting brought together a range of players, whose work is affected by this issue, but who don't traditionally work together on this topic:
• 5 UN Agencies -- UNICEF, World Health Organization, International Labour Organization, UNESCO, UNOPS
• The private sector -- P&G;, Business for Society (BSR) and Accenture Development Partnerships
• Academia -- Oxford University, EAWAG and Emory University, University of Maryland
• Government -- permanent representatives from the UK and Senegal and representatives from the Swiss Development Corporation (tbc)
It also allowed for dissemination of results from WSSCC's Menstrual Hygiene Management research in India in October and November 2012. This includes results from individual surveys with 747 women and girls and focus group discussions with 12,000 women and girls across five states spanning rural and peri-urban sites in India. An excerpt of the information to be released on Friday:
a. Only 30.2% of girls and women reported knowing about menstruation before they received their first period. Psycho-social dimensions self-reported during interviews were stark: girls thought they were seriously ill when they saw the blood, and in some cases thought that they might in fact be dying.
b. When asked if menstrual blood is 'clean blood' or 'dirty blood', only 17.7% felt that it was clean.
c. Taboos around menstruation came through very strongly, as were restrictions on the movement of menstruating women and girls. Only 1.6% of respondents said they faced no restriction while menstruating. Common restrictions included not touching the water pot, not touching the pickle jar, sleeping separately from the family or spouse and not being allowed to cook and handle food.
d. Disposal solutions were an issue of concern. 88.3% reported no disposal solution at school; 79.4% reported no disposal solution at work; and 11.7% of those that did report a disposal solution, reported disposing in a nearby river or stream, or in a pit latrine. At home, 19.7% respondents reported burning materials, 5.6% burying materials and 12.7% discarding in a river or a pond.
In addition, preliminary findings from the University of Maryland relating to South Africa
and Bihar state in India and Oxford University relating to Uganda were also be
shared at the seminar.
Reports generated from the meeting will be available at www.wsscc.org

Fighting Human Trafficking and Pornography Addiction with True Love

Good morning, brothers and sisters. How is everyone this morning? I bring you greetings from our True Parents. They’ve just left Las Vegas for Korea. On the 18th we celebrated the dedication of the Won Mo boat, with many guests and dignitaries in Las Vegas, together with our True Parents. It was a time for the guests to realize what a remarkable genius our True Father is, in that, yes, he is a spiritual leader, but by training he is a scientist.
The Won Mo Boat
He designed the Won Mo boat, which utilizes helium tanks so that it’s faster, lighter, and saves a whole lot of fuel. In our True Parents’ desire to reclaim leisure for the sake of the family, Father is encouraging families to own one of these boats, to enjoy their time with their family. Father wants to give each family a chance to come together and experience something quite profound and beautiful. And yet at the same time, in line with his ocean providence and his desire to end world hunger, this is evidence of Father’s way of innovating all the pre-existing things that we have taken for granted, making them technologically better. He is making boats work a whole lot better for us so we can be free to have a great time, go fishing at the same time, and bring something back that the family can enjoy together.
It was an amazing time. Our True Parents were delighted and in good spirits. Every time I see my father and mother, our True Parents, I am so taken aback by their desire to give something of themselves to the world, to present something to the world as a gift to make humanity that much better.
In the name of the boat Won Mo, the Chinese character for Won(圓) means circle, round, and Mo(母) means mother. It is extremely interesting how Father wanted to have the Won Mo dedication ceremony after a special meeting of all the women gathered there for this event. Father asked for a special workshop with all the women present, again stressing the importance of the Pacific Rim Era and the importance of women reclaiming their own dignity as eternal daughters of God, to lead humanity in the right direction toward a world of peace, harmony, and love.
When you take these two Chinese characters together, Won and Mo, what Father envisions for the boat is really the symbol of the universality of our True Parents. When you look at the dynamic, circular relationship between a man and a woman, you realize that it becomes complete when the man finally finds a beautiful wife, somebody who can be a beautiful mother to the children. You realize that circle and the family becomes complete when the feminine is honored, when the feminine is also represented.
Again hearkening the theme of Pacific Rim Era, the women have to finish the circle of humanity. What the world witnessed in terms of the power, might, and strength of the masculine must end in a beautiful circle, with women in different positions of leadership in their families, their society, and their nation. Women are to be the kind of people who can usher in the new millennium by emphasizing the importance of compassion, love, and living for the sake of others, and in doing so help raise men to be great eternal sons of God and great fathers. By working together, women and men are to create a world where they can reclaim their heavenly worth, their equal dignity as eternal sons and daughters, and share the world with everyone who thinks of each other as having similar value and dignity.
When our True Father named this boat Won Mo, I felt that he is signaling a time when the women have to come to the forefront as agents of change, claiming their dignity and raising up all the brothers, fathers, and sons to become better people.
Satisfying Spiritual and Physical Hunger
One of the most important missions our Father has engaged in is developing the ocean providence, finding different ways to manufacture fine fish products, as he has also emphasized the importance of fishing. Unlike farming, in which you have a process of planting seeds, waiting for them to grow, and waiting for the autumn before we can share in the harvest of plenty, my father is thinking about feeding the world every day. He sees the ocean as a treasure of incredible natural resources that we have yet to really understand.
Our True Parents’ desire is for humanity to be healthy and to find its way out of poverty, out of the hungry existence that a lot of men, women, and children are still suffering from. Yes, in this modern day we see the effects of spiritual starvation, but in vast areas of the world many millions of people still suffer from physical starvation. This is what our True Parents want to address through the ocean providence.
As I was experiencing the Won Mo boat dedication ceremony, thinking back about all that our Father has done, I recalled how he single-handedly brought in the sushi revolution here in America. Before True

Glicerio Without Number
In an attempt to break taboos, this short documentary sheds light over the cliché that the street population lives nonchalantly.
Filmed at the neighborhood of Glicério, São Paulo, (the most concentrated street population per capita of Brazil) the short movie shows how they are trying to get off the streets and analyzes the ways society views it.
The name "Glicerio Without Number" comes from a constant complaint from the street population that employers have prejudice towards someone that doesn't have a permanent address.

Private Lessons II (part 1)
PRIVATE LESSONS II (1993) is the Japanese remake of the 1981 American "classic" PRIVATE LESSONS starring Sylvia Kristel. This version stars pop star Goro Inagaki (from SMAP) and Polish sensation Joanna Pacula. It makes no damn sense and will probably be the best movie you'll ever see. Its a Japanese sex comedy with neither sex nor comedy.
