Sarvestan County
Sarvestan County (Persian: شهرستان سروستان) is a county in Fars Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Sarvestan. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 34,452, in 8,308 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Kuhenjan District. The county has one city: Sarvestan.

Sarvestan
Sarvestan (Persian: سروستان Sarvestân, "land of cedars"; sarv "cedar" (cypress) + estan; also Romanized as Sarvestān and Sarvistān) is a city in and the capital of Sarvestan County, Fars Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 16,846, in 4,094 families.
It is located 80 kilometres (50 mi) southeast of Shiraz, the capital of Fars province.
The majority of people in Sarvestan are Persians. Many tropical and sub-tropical plants are grown in Sarvestan (i.e. Wheat, Pistachios, Olive). The yoghurt of Sarvestan is very famous.
History
Sarvestan's history goes back some 2600 years when the Achaemenids established the Persian Empire. The Sassanid monument of Sasanids' Palace (Kakhe Sasan) is located in south east of the city 90 km from Shiraz, experts believe the monument was constructed during the Sasanid dynastic era (224-651 A.D), and it was either a governing palace or a Zoroastrian temple, probably a fire temple. The monument was registered in Iran’s National Heritage list in 1956 but sadly the site in danger as the result of unprofessional restorations. Sarvestan is the birthplace of Sheikh Yusef Sarvestani, who was a moralist.

مجموعه کاخ ساسانی سروستان در استان فارس و در ۹ کیلومتری جنوب شهر سروستان در شهرستان سروستان و محله تزنگ قرار داشته و کل مجموعه ۲۵ هکتار وسعت دارد. این کاخ از سنگ و گچ ساخته شده و ایوانی مربع شکل بخش مرکزی آن را تشکیل می‌دهد که دارای ۱۳ متر طول و عرض، و ۱۸ متر ارتفاع دارد. همچنین در مرکز و حیاط دارای گنبدی می‌باشد.
این بنا همانند کاخ فیروزآباد و کوچکتر از آن است و طاق‌های گنبدی آن با آجر زده شده‌است. این بنا که از با شکوه‌ترین کاخ‌های عهد ساسانی است و شامل یک ایوان ورودی و گنبدی در مرکز و حیاط است. در این کاخ نسبت به بناهای دیگر این دوره از معماری و پلان پیچیده و کامل‌تری استفاده شده‌است.

کاخ باستانی سروستان مربوط به دوره ساسانی و زمان بهرام پنجم ساسانی معروف به بهرام گور، پادشاه مورد علاقه فردوسی که در شاهنامه ابیات زیادی در وصف زندگی او سروده است. از نظر معماری خیلی شبیه به کاخ اردشیر بابکان فیروز آباد هست. این کاخ همراه با چند اثر ساسانی دیگه در فارس به عنوان میراث جهانی یونسکو به ثبت رسیده. این کاخ حدود یک ساعت از شیراز فاصله داره. کاخ ساسان 9 کیلومتری جنوب شرقی سروستان در جاده خاوران واقع شده. حتما اگر به استان فارس سفر کردید بازدید از این کاخ زیبا رو فراموش نکنید.
Sarvestan Palace dates back to Sassanid period, when the king Bahram V (famously known as Bahram Gor) was the ruler. Bahram Gor was the favorite king of Ferdowsi (Persian poet), he composed many verses describing the life of the king. Architecturally, this palace is very similar to the palace of Ardashir I in Firouz Abad. This palace, with some other Sassanid relics in Fars Province, are added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. This palace is around 1 hour away from Shiraz. This Sassanid palace is 9 km south east of Sarvestan, in Khavaran Road. If you travel to Fars Province, don’t forget to visit this beautiful palace.

The Sarvestan Palace was built by the Sasanian king Bahramgur (r. 420–438), and dominates an immense, empty plain. The name "palace" is a bit misleading, because the monument's function is not really understood. It may in fact have been a hunting lodge or even a sanctuary. The problem is complicated by the fact that there appears to have been a small building, just north of the palace; its function is unknown. A visitor who would have arrived from the south, would have seen three iwans. After entering the central one, he would have reached a large square hall under a large dome, made of baked brick. After this, a visitor would have found himself on a rectangular courtyard, surrounded by the residential quarters. The building reminds one of the Ghal'eh Dokhtar and the palace of Ardashir, both near Firuzabad; the difference is that the Sarvestan palace is open to all sides. The building, made of stone and mortar, must have had fine decorations, which partly survive.

مجموعه کاخ ساسانی سروستان در استان فارس و در ۹ کیلومتری جنوب شهر سروستان در شهرستان سروستان و محله تزنگ قرار داشته و کل مجموعه ۲۵ هکتار وسعت دارد. این کاخ از سنگ و گچ ساخته شده و ایوانی مربع شکل بخش مرکزی آن را تشکیل می‌دهد که دارای ۱۳ متر طول و عرض، و ۱۸ متر ارتفاع دارد. همچنین در مرکز و حیاط دارای گنبدی می‌باشد.
این بنا همانند کاخ فیروزآباد و کوچکتر از آن است و طاق‌های گنبدی آن با آجر زده شده‌است. این بنا که از با شکوه‌ترین کاخ‌های عهد ساسانی است و شامل یک ایوان ورودی و گنبدی در مرکز و حیاط است. در این کاخ نسبت به بناهای دیگر این دوره از معماری و پلان پیچیده و کامل‌تری استفاده شده‌است.

Sarvestan County
Sarvestan County (Persian: شهرستان سروستان) is a county in Fars Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Sarvestan. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 34,452, in 8,308 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Kuhenjan District. The county has one city: Sarvestan.
