Let's Play Nuclear Throne Gameplay - Part 1 - Mutate

Nuclear Throne Gameplay Episodes are here! In our first Nuclear Throne episodes, we'll be going through some random runs and exploring each Nuclear Throne character, the levels, and the weapons. We'll also find out what the heck Mutations are, and why they're so important. I haven't developed a Nuclear Throne mutation tier list quite yet, but I'm working on it! Nuclear Throne is an action roguelike developed by Vlambeer. In this game, you play as strange, mutant-like characters in an apocalyptic wasteland. Each Nuclear Throne level ends in a portal down to the next stage, and if you've leveled up by picking up enough Rads (radiation found by killing enemies and in Rad Canisters), you can choose from a small list a mutation (or update, if you're Robot) to improve your character. Mutations can change your character in a variety of ways — improving survivability (HP), increasing damage output (DPS), or augmenting your weapons. Each character also has a character-specific "Throne Butt" ability activated with right-click, which has an accompanying mutation that can become available when mutating. Here is a partial list of Nuclear Throne characters: Fish: -Passive: Fish receives more ammo from weapons and ammo pickups. He also starts the game with more ammo. —Right-Click Active: Fish can roll. —Fish Throne Butt: Fish can roll as long as right-click is held and can roll in different directions consecutively. Crystal: —Passive: Crystal has 10 HP to start the game. —Right-Click Active: Crystal can shield herself, reflecting some attacks. —Crystal Throne Butt: Crystal teleports to cursor location and shields.
