Kris Kristofferson - Down to her socks (Songwriter, 1984)
Down to her Socks Here's a song about a good 'ole girl with a big 'ole heart that got broke 'cause she was in love with some son of a bitch who didn't love her back enough ... Slowly she sank to her knees on the floor Cursin' the freedom she'd won From the torture she vowed not to take anymore And the victim she'd almost become Chorus: For a lady who'd learned all there is about leaving She sure took a long time to go But he loved her right down to her socks and no further And her feet were the last ones to know.

Footloose - Kenny Loggins ( Original Music Video ) HD / HQ 1984
Kenny Loggins - Footloose ( HQ / HD ) "Footloose" is the title of a song co-written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins. It was released in January 1984 as the first of two single by Loggins from the 1984 film of the same name. The song spent three weeks at number one, March 31—April 14, 1984 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was the first of two number-one hits from the motion picture, Footloose. The song was very well received, and is one of the most recognizable songs recorded by Loggins. When the American Film Institute released its AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs, "Footloose" reached the 96th position. The song was covered by country music artist Blake Shelton for the 2011 remake of the 1984 film.

Kris Kristofferson - Rocket to stardom (1975)
- blocked in Germany for Sony music content... Sorry... Fair use - no copyright violation intended This funny, cheeky song is from Kris's great album "Who's to bless and who's to blame" (1975) I've read that Kris was inspired for this song by the attempts of some people to get him and Rita listen to their songs via the security camera that was installed outside their Malibu home ... But I was also told that he once introduced this song to the audience by telling them that Roger McGuinn of The Byrds had this closed circuit TV installed on his property, and that this was what had inspired him to write this song ... Maybe Kris even didn't have a security system at his home back then ... Or maybe there is a bit of them two stories that made up the true inspiration ... It makes me smile whenever I listen to it ... Bet they were having a lot of fun and whatever else while recording it ... Just listen to the choir and the instruments and noises ... I always had some silly performances of casting shows in my mind (I hate them and actually don't watch them) when I listen to the song ... Them all performing in a driveway instead on the stages ;-)) But I think it's more enjoyable with scenes from Kris's movies ;-)) Warren Oates also sings in the chorus... Most of the scenes are from Songwriter (1984) and Sodbusters (1994) - though not many scenes with Kris in the latter one - A star is born (1976) and Semi-tough (1977); a few are from Blume in love (1973); and tiny scenes are from ...

Depeche Mode - Somebody 1984
Depeche Mode - Somebody Released in 1984 album "Some Great Reward" Martin L. Gore as lead vocals and song writer. Lyrics: I want somebody to share Share the rest of my life Share my innermost thoughts Know my intimate details Someone wholl stand by my side And give me support And in return Shell get my support She will listen to me When I want to speak About the world we live in And life in general Though my views may be wrong They may even be perverted Shell hear me out And wont easily be converted To my way of thinking In fact shell often disagree But at the end of it all She will understand me I want somebody who cares For me passionately With every thought and With every breath Someone wholl help me see things In a different light All the things I detest I will almost like I dont want to be tied To anyones strings Im carefully trying to steer clear of Those things But when Im asleep I want somebody Who will put their arms around me And kiss me tenderly Though things like this Make me sick In a case like this I`ll get away with it

Tin Pan Caravan: Anais Mitchell- 1984
1984 is a song that cleverly fuses George Orwell's novel "1984" with the times of today also adding to the punchline of Prince's 1999. Probably one of the most clever tunes I've heard in years. Chris Garneau - Dirty Night Clowns
"Dirty Night Clowns" is a wonderful tale of curiosity, danger and pursuit. Although its never known what the path ahead has in store, Chris takes a journey driven by his nervous curiosity to find the nefarious character who roamed about his house while he slept. What seems scary and evil from a distance might end up as something unexpected as a cast of characters lures Chris in for a special ending.
Sometimes the fates align and two passionate artists are able to collaborate on a truly special level. Singer/songwriter Chris Garneau and producer/director Ryan Gibeau were brought together by the song "Dirty Night Clowns" from Chris' album El Radio. What is easily ROCK*iT's finest moment in video history came from this collaboration and the wildly imaginative music.
We'd like to send a special thanks to Chris Garneau, Absolutely Kosher Records, Alternate Ending Studios and the entire crew for actualizing our dream of making this video! Thank You!

Michael Nyman & David McAlmont - Secrets, Accusations & Charges (Max Cooper Reconstruction)
Michael Nyman and David McAlmont - Secrets, Accusations and Charges (Max Cooper Reconstruction).
Directed: Nick Cobby.
This remix marks the first time multi-million selling minimalist soundtrack composer Michael Nyman (The Piano; Gattaca; The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover) has allowed his work to be remixed. The "Reconstructions EP" is out on Last Night on Earth Recordings 9 July.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
THE VIDEO
For the video, animator and director Nick Cobby wanted to add a human element to his visuals for the first time, asking Max Cooper fans to come down to his London studio to be filmed.
"After listening to the track, I was aware of how important the vocal element is in the track, which added an emotional and human element alongside Max's sonic soundscapes. I knew that i wanted to include real people for the first time, but i wanted to change their appearance; making them something more animated and kinetic, and therefore bring them into Max's world."
Each participant was filmed individually, concentrating on their facial expressions and head movements. Incorporating Kinect camera technology, depth data captured by the Kinect was used to create 3d point data of the individuals filmed. This 3d map was then reconstructed to re-create the participants, utilising code and creative technology to create a generative outcome.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
THE MUSIC
The Reconstructions EP comprises two Max Cooper reworks – one abstract, one dancefloor - of Secrets, Accusations and Charges, Nyman's collaboration with the songwriter and vocalist David McAlmont.
The song first appeared on Nyman and McAlmont's album, The Glare. It places McAlmont’s lyrics, inspired by a newspaper story about a quiet suburban Scottish woman who was discovered to be a jewel thief, over Nyman’s theme for the film Gattaca.
As the Gattaca theme is an orchestral piece, both the Deconstruction and Reconstruction are built from samples of only two soundfiles: a track of McAlmont’s voice, and a single track of The Michael Nyman Ensemble playing the Gattaca theme.
Many thanks to all who participated and made the video (and reworks) possible.

R.I.P. JIMMY "THE REV" SULLIVAN - TRIBUTE VIDEO
• All Interviews were shot in 2007 for Avenged Sevenfold's "All Excess" DVD
• Edited by Rafa Alcantara
M. SHADOWS TALKS ABOUT THE REV
I don’t know how to start this or know where to begin. First I would like to thank all the fans for their support through the passing of Jimmy. It has been comforting to see his fans, our fans, and everyone in general give their support. Jimmy was my best friend, as he was best friends with many other people including the members of Avenged Sevenfold. He was hands down the greatest person I have ever known. I told him I loved him everyday. He demanded your love and was never afraid to give it back. I have walked side by side with Jimmy, everyday, for the last 18 years of my life. I have no memories before Jimmy, and it’s going to be damn hard to move forward without him here. It still doesn’t seem real. He was my best friend, songwriting partner, band mate, confidant, and most importantly, he was my brother. The crazy thing about Jimmy was that everyday was a crazy story. We have told our favorite Jimmy stories for the last 2 weeks and never have we repeated ourselves. This guy was magical. The out pour of art from his soul was unlike the world has ever seen. Unless you spent a day with Jimmy, or 18 years, it’s impossible to explain, so I’m not going to try. He inspired people in different ways. He wasn’t just a drummer, he honestly didn’t care so much for the technical side of drums, cause he could play anything he wanted. He was all about creating beautiful songs, original fills and hopefully touching people with his art and mind. He told all of us for years, including his parents, that he knew two things in life. He wanted to be a rockstar, and that he wasn’t going to live past 30 years old. He was right on both accounts, but I know Jimmy, and if he knew how much pain this would cause for the ones he left behind, he would have done anything he could to stick around a little longer. Jimmy gave so much and in the end it was his time to go. All my reasons for wanting him to stay are selfish and I know he is in a better place then this, so in a way I’m joyful that my best friend is now at peace. He made it to the other side first and I can’t wait to hang with him again. I have so much to say but can’t find the words so I will wait until time can allow me to find a way to express myself. As for the rest of us, it has become clear what we need to do. We had just finished writing a record with Jimmy. I can’t promise what the future holds because right now it’s too painful to think about, but we know we need to record and put out this record in honor of Jimmy, for Jimmy. He would call me every night to talk about songs and tell me “this shit is gonna change the world.” I agreed with him, unfortunately I didn’t know it would be on these terms. Please be patient with us for we cannot imagine how hard this is gonna be to get through, we just know we have to do it for his legacy. After that, who knows? But I know Jimmy will help us make that decision when the time comes. I love you Jimmy and I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have known you and spent 18 years of my life with you. Rest in Peace my friend.

John Lennon - Nobody Told Me. Top Of The Pops 1984
OFFICIAL VIDEO recorded from Top Of the Pops 1984. John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (9 October 1940 -- 8 December 1980) was an English musician and singer-songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as one of the founding members of The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. Along with fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, he formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century. Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved as a teenager in the skiffle craze; his first band, The Quarrymen, evolved into The Beatles in 1960. As the group disintegrated towards the end of the decade, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to devote time to his family, but re-emerged in 1980 with a new album, Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release. Lennon revealed a rebellious nature and acerbic wit in his music, his writing, his drawings, on film, and in interviews, and he became controversial through his political activism. He moved to New York City in 1971, where his criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt by Richard Nixon's administration to deport him, while his songs were adopted as anthems by the anti-war movement. As of 2010, Lennon's solo album sales in the ...

Takeaways - Sweet & Sour (1984)
Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1984: Takeaways' promo-video for the hit single 'Sweet & Sour' taken from the 1984 album 'Sweet & Sour' - soundtrack album to the popular ABC-TV series of same name. Note: The Takeaways were a fictitious band that was the centre of an ABC-TV series tiled 'Sweet & Sour'; a tale about a young band seeking fame and fortune in the music industry. The Takeaways did not play their own instruments on this track, but instead left the music to professional musicians. The vocals on this track is performed by Deborah Conway of Do Re Mi. The song was written by the brilliant Kiwi songwriter Sharon O'Neill. The show was created by Tim Gooding and Johanna Pigott (ex-XL Capris/Scribble). Incidently, David Reyne (who plays Martin Kabel on guitar) was once a member of Australian Crawl with brother James. en.wikipedia.org Sweet_and_Sour_%28TV_series%29 ------------------------------------------- NZOZ NZOZ1984 1984 Australia Mid Eighties 1980's 1980s 80's 80s Extended Tags: David Reyne, Australian Crawl, Deborah Conway, Do Re Mi, Johanna Pigott, Sharon O'Neill Musical Terms: New Wave, Pop, Synth, Dance, Aussie, Old Australian Band
