Roberto Griego Arriba Nuevo Mexico
From a youngster who was raised in a community "where there are more rabbits than people," to a nationally known music star, Roberto Jose Griego still considers himself, "just an ordinary guy." "I was raised on a ranch in La Joya, NM by my father, grandparents and an aunt. I lost my mother to cancer when I was two. My grandfather worked from before dawn until after dark to provide us with a roof over our heads and food on the table, and we were still on Welfare. As a teenager, I practiced playing the guitar for seven to eight hours a day. My grandmother would tell me to go find a job, so I would pretend to have looked all day and then come back and play my guitar again." Griego goes on to say that although they were considered working poor, and his grandparents were probably considered illiterate, "We were rich in love." Griego just recently lost his father at the age of 91. "We were very close." He began playing and singing with other bands and subsequently recorded his first record in a studio in Albuquerque owned by John Wagner. "I walked in and asked if I could record a song and they asked me where my band was. I told them, 'I am the band!'" It cost him $45 to record his record ($120 today). Griego said, "I played rhythm and sang on the first track and then played lead melody on the second track." Griego then remarks that, "What began as me, myself and I and my guitar producing my first 45 rpm record (Un Pobre No Mas, 1971-which still remains his biggest hit) I have ...

MALAGUEÑA SALEROSA - CHINGON - (2004)
THANK´S FOR 17000000.00 VIEWS OF MY VIDEOS. MERCI POUR 17000000.00 VUES DE MES VIDÉOS. GRAZIE PER 17.000.000,00 VISUALIZZAZIONI DEI MIEI VIDEO. GRACIAS POR 17000000.00 PUNTOS DE VISTA DE MIS VIDEOS. OBRIGADO PELAS 17.000.000,00 DE VISUALIZAÇÕES DOS MEUS VIDEOS. CHINGON is a Mexican rock band based in Austin, Texas. Their sound is heavily influenced by mariachi, ranchera, and Texan rock 'n roll music. History Chingon was formed by film director Robert Rodriguez to record songs for his 2003 film Once Upon a Time in Mexico. They contributed on Mexico and Mariachis, a compilation album to Rodríguez' Mariachi Trilogy, and released their debut album, Mexican Spaghetti Western, in 2004. The band's name comes from a Mexican slang term, chingón, loosely but closely enough meaning "badass" and/or "awesome". Chingon also contributed the song "Malagueña Salerosa" to Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 2 — which Rodríguez scored — and a live performance by the band was included on the film's DVD release. They also contributed to the soundtrack for his next film, a collaboration with Tarantino, Grindhouse, doing a cover of the film's opening theme, re-titling it "Cherry's Dance of Death". Rodríguez plays guitar in the band. The band has also made a appearance on "George Buys a Vow", an episode of the US sitcom George Lopez. Band members Robert Rodríguez - guitar Alex Ruiz - vocals Mark del Castillo - guitar, vocals Rick del Castillo - guitar, vocals Albert Besteiro - bass guitar Carmelo ...

Carlos Santana - "Samba Pa Ti" (1970)
Woodstock Festival History: August 15-16-17 (1969) www.bethelwoodscenter.org Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947) is a Mexican rock guitarist. Santana became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered rock, salsa and jazz fusion. The band's sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas not generally heard in rock music. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades. He experienced a resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003. He has won 10 Grammy Awards and 3 Latin Grammy Awards. Santana was born in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico. His father was a mariachi violinist, and Carlos learned to play the violin at age five and the guitar at age eight. Young Carlos was heavily influenced by Ritchie Valens at a time when there were very few Latinos in American rock and pop music. The family moved from Autlán de Navarro to Tijuana, the border city between Mexico and California, and then San Francisco. Carlos stayed in Tijuana but joined his family in San Francisco later and graduated from James Lick Middle School and Mission High School there. He graduated from Mission High in 1965. Javier Bátiz, a famous guitarist from Tijuana Mexico, is said to have been Carlos's guitar teacher who taught ...
