Flying over Reykjavík Viðey on trike in sunset - ICELAND
Part-5 Gjástykki - Krafla - Leirhnjúkur - Mývatn www.youtube.com Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. Its latitude at 64°08' N makes it the world's most northern national capital with the exception of Nuuk, Greenland. It is located in southwestern Iceland, on the southern shore of Faxaflói Bay. With a population of around 120000 (and over 200000 in the Greater Reykjavik Area) it is the heart of Iceland's economic and governmental activity. Reykjavík is believed to be the location of the first permanent settlement in Iceland, which Ingólfur Arnarson is said to have established around 870. Until the 18th century, there was no urban development in the city location. The city was founded in 1786 as an official trading town and grew steadily over the next decades, as it transformed into a regional and later national centre of commerce, population and governmental activities. Today, Reykjavík is the centre of the Greater Reykjavík Area which, with a population of 202000, is the only metropolitan area in Iceland. As a highly modernized capital of one of the most developed countries in the world, its inhabitants enjoy a first-class welfare system and city infrastructure. Its location, only slightly south of the Arctic Circle, receives only four hours of daylight on the shortest day in the depth of winter; during the summer the nights are almost as bright as the days. It has continued to see population growth in past years as well as growth in areas of commerce ...

Iceland / Lýðveldið / Ísland
Iceland / officially the Republic of Iceland,Ísland or Lýðveldið Ísland is a European island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of about 320000 and a total area of 103000 km2 (39769 sq mi).Its capital and largest city is Reykjavík, whose surrounding area is home to some two-thirds of the national population. Located on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland is volcanically and geologically active on a large scale; this defines the landscape. The interior mainly consists of a plateau characterised by sand fields, mountains and glaciers, while many big glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, Iceland has a temperate climate relative to its latitude and provides a habitable environment and nature. According to Landnámabók, the settlement of Iceland began in AD 874 when the Norwegian chieftain Ingólfur Arnarson became the first permanent Norwegian settler on the island.Others had visited the island earlier and stayed over winter. Over the next centuries, people of Norse and Celtic origin settled in Iceland. Until the 20th century, the Icelandic population relied largely on fisheries and agriculture, and was from 1262 to 1918 a part of the Norwegian, and later the Danish monarchies. In the 20th century, Iceland's economy and welfare system developed quickly, and in recent decades the nation has implemented free trade in the European Economic Area, diversifying from fishing to new economic fields in services, finance ...

Part-8 Langisjór Highland www.youtube.com Ingolfshofdi Puffin island on south coast of Iceland close to Vatnajökul glacier Ingólfshöfði nature reserve (1978) is a 76 m. high headland situated between black sands of south-east Iceland and the Atlantic ocean. In the headland you find everything from steep cliffs and rocks to black sands and green grass. In the summertime it's a home to thousands of puffins and other nesting seabirds. Ingólfshöfði got its name from the first official settler of Iceland, Ingólfur Arnarson, but the story says that he spent his first winter in Iceland over there in 874 AD. The cape is only accessible for 4WD vehicles and due to possible quicksand, it's not recommended to travel there without guidance. iceland extreme Here are some more pictures from some new trip this summer on trips with tourist and on my trike or ultralight: (Trip with Peter around Iceland, totally mad this guy, but he is pro!) Paige Parker traveled to over 150 countries with Jim Rogers a bestselling economic expert and author. Copyright Jim Rogers - provided as a special contribution to The Fenton Report This interview discusses women, history and taxes in Iceland. The President of Iceland is Iceland's elected head of state. The president is elected to a four-year term by universal adult suffrage and has limited powers. The president is not the head of government; the Prime Minister of Iceland is the head of government. There have been five presidents since Iceland gained independence from Denmark in 1944. The incumbent is Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, who is now in his fourth term as president, being returned unopposed in 2008, having been first elected in 1996. The presidential residence is situated in Bessastaðir in Álftanes. The nation's constitution specifies that when the president cannot perform the duties of the office, such as when he or she is abroad or under anesthesia, the prime minister, the president of the Althingi (Parliament), and the president of the Supreme Court take over the power vested in the office. The three vote on any presidential decisions that must be made during that time. The president is also the designated Grand Master of the Order of the Falcon. Velkomin til Kosta Ríka - Ísland
Kosta Ríka (eða Kostaríka) er land í Mið-Ameríku með landamæri að Níkaragva í norðri og Panama í suðri, og strönd að Kyrrahafi í vestri og Karíbahafi í austri. Kosta Ríka er eitt fárra landa í heiminum með engan her.

Iceland volcano Vestmanneyjar
Vestmannaeyjar (English: The Westman Islands) is a small archipelago off the south coast of Iceland. The largest island, Heimaey, has a population of 4036. The other islands are uninhabited, though two have single hunting cabins. The archipelago came to international attention in 1973 when Icelanders battled to prevent lava from the volcano Eldfell blocking Heimaey's harbour. Nyan Iceland (ORIGINAL)
Iceland[7][8] i/ˈaɪslənd/ (Icelandic: Ísland, IPA: [ˈislant]; see Names for Iceland), described as the Republic of Iceland, is a Nordic and European island country in the North Atlantic Ocean, on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.[9] Iceland also refers to the main island of the country, which contains almost all the population and almost all the land area.
