Low fertility rate, no in-migration will lead to S'pore's population decline - 07Sep2011
SINGAPORE: Singapore's resident population will decline and become extremely aged if the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is extremely low and if there is no in-migration. This is according to a landmark study on future population growth and change for Singapore published on Wednesday by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS). The study produced four population scenarios based on varying TFR and immigration levels. The study said with TFR at 1.24 births per woman and zero net migration, Singapore's population will decline to 3.03 million in 2050. With 30000 migrants added annually, the population projection is 4.89 million in 2050. And with 60000 migrants added annually, the population projection is 6.76 million in 2050. The study also looked at a situation where TFR can be raised to 1.85 births per woman by 2025 with no new immigration. With such a scenario, the study said population size can still only hit 3.37 million in 2050. The ratio of working people (between the ages of 15-64) to the elderly will also decrease. For instance, with low fertility and 30000 new residents a year, the ratio drops from 8.6 in 2005, to 2.7 in 2050. A key conclusion obtained from the study is that without immigration, the total population will decline, even if Singapore's total fertility rate rises from the current 1.15 to 1.85. The number of working people available to support each elderly person is also set to drop in all the scenarios. However, Dr Yap Mui Teng, who is a senior research fellow ...

Angola Video, Lubango City - Peacekeeping Mission - Dej -Romania - Bistrita (video by Paul B.)
Good and bad memories, UN Special Forces Lubango - Angola Mission 1996-97 a 12 Months mission and 3 times malaria. :) This is just a private blogger video and was taking while having a day off. Some sad recordings regarding the way some people live their life, I wish I could help them all but I am only one and they are 12799293 Angolan citizens. The population is growing by 2.184% annually. There are 44.51 births and 24.81 deaths per 1000 citizens. The net migration rate is 2.14 migrants per 1000 citizens. The fertility rate of Angola is 6.27 children born per woman as of 2006. The infant mortality rate is 184.44 deaths for every 1000 live births with 196.55 deaths for males and 171.72 deaths for females for every 1000 live births. Life expectancy at birth is 37.63 years; 36.73 years for males and 38.57 years for females. ............. I DISCLAIM - ANY MUSIC USED IN THIS CLIP - IT IS USED PURELY FOR ENTERTAINING PURPOSES.... Exporting our unemployed to Australia
www.interest.co.nz Why falling unemployment isn't so miraculous Analysis by interest.co.nz of migration and employment figures shows net migration to Australia over the last nine years matches almost exactly the drop in the number of unemployed in New Zealand over the same period. A chart showing this relationship is on the left. We're not suggesting that the same people who were unemployed left to go and live and work in Australia, but it is interesting that as we lose workers to Australia, their positions appear to have been filled directly or indirectly from the ranks of the unemployed. It suggests that the Labour-led government's claims that falling unemployment are a central achievement of its three terms have not taken into account the leakage of workers to Australia. It also suggests that a core reason for labour shortages and the resulting wage increases and inflation is as much to do with migration to Australia as it is linked to falling unemployment. It also raises questions about whether one of the reasons for poor productivity growth in the last nine years is because more skilled, healthier workers are leaving New Zealand and being replaced by less skilled, less productive workers who were unemployed. It's hard to tell whether those leaving are jobless or highly skilled. Either way it's bad for productivity, inflation and interest rates. The fallout is worse if our most highly skilled and productive are leaving and being replaced by jobless. There is some ...

American Economy, Financial Security, Medicare, Social Security, Tax Cuts (2012)
thefilmarchive.org April 3, 2012 The economy of the United States is the world's largest national economy. Its nominal GDP was estimated to be over $15 trillion in 2011, approximately a quarter of nominal global GDP. The European Union has a larger collective economy, but is not a single nation. Its GDP at purchasing power parity is the largest in the world, approximately a fifth of global GDP at purchasing power parity. The US economy also maintains a very high level of output. In 2011, it was estimated to have a per capita GDP (PPP) of $48147, the 7th highest in the world, thus making US one of the world's wealthiest nations. The US is the largest trading nation in the world. Its three largest trading partners as of 2010 are Canada, China and Mexico. The economy of the United States is a mixed economy and has maintained a stable overall GDP growth rate, a moderate unemployment rate, and high levels of research and capital investment. It has been the world's largest national economy (not including colonial empires) since at least the 1890s. Most of the economy is classified as services. As of 2012, the country remains the world's largest manufacturer, representing a fifth of the global manufacturing output. Of the world's 500 largest companies, 133 are headquartered in the United States. This is twice the total of any other country. About 60% of the global currency reserves have been invested in the United States dollar, while 24% have been invested in the euro. The ...

England Facing Havoc Due To Soaring Immigration
UK faces havoc - Dire warning to PM on soaring immigration BRITAIN faces havoc unless mass immigration is slashed, two top MPs warn today. Ex-Labour minister Frank Field and Tory grandee Nicholas Soames say urgent action is needed from David Cameron to turn the tide. They spoke out as MPs debate an e-petition on immigration backed by more than 100000 people. The petition calls on ministers to take "all necessary steps" to stop the UK's population soaring to 70 million. Writing below for The Sun, Mr Field and Mr Soames say Britain will need EIGHT new cities to house millions of extra people. They warn: "Getting immigration right down is vital for the future. If mass immigration is allowed to continue it will cause havoc." The two also urge new immigration minister Mark Harper not to "buckle" and press on with reforms. Last night the Oxford University Migration Observatory said the population will still top 70 million even if ministers cut net migration to 100000. Meanwhile, a Commons committee warns that the crackdown on immigration is threatening the UK's ability to attract foreign students. Following paragraphs: "It's vital to get it right" - By MPs FRANK FIELD and NICHOLAS SOAMES, co-chairman of the Balanced Migration cross-party group. "LAST autumn, with support from Sun readers, Migrationwatch's e-petition secured 100000 signatures in a week. Today there will be the resulting debate in Parliament. Polls show immigration is still a core issue for voters. Our population ...

New Yorkers Flee High Taxes in Droves
(CNSNews.com) -- New York State accounted for the biggest migration exodus of any state in the nation between 2000 and 2010, with 3.4 million residents leaving over that period, according to the Tax Foundation. Over that decade the state gained 2.1 million, so net migration amounted to 1.3 million, representing a loss of $45.6 billion in income. Where are they escaping to? The Tax Foundation found that more than 600000 New York residents moved to Florida over the decade -- opting perhaps for the Sunshine State's more lenient tax system -- taking nearly $20 billion in adjusted growth income with them. Over that same time period, 208794 Pennsylvanians moved to Florida, taking $8 billion in income. "Many of these New York and Pennsylvania residents no doubt moved to Florida for the warm weather," says the foundation, a nonpartisan research group. "[B]ut many more may have moved there because the state does not have an individual income tax, an estate tax, nor an inheritance tax." www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv twitter.com www.facebook.com [Check out Alex's New Social Network-'Planet Infowars' planet.infowars.com

Peace Is Non Theistic - Statistical Data
BE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE EPOCH OF REASON! I hear time and time again the incredible statements being made by the religiously minded whom make comparisons between themselves, other religious groups and also even to the non-religious. I hear often Muslims claiming their religion to be one of peace, of knowledge of wisdom and of respect (laughs), and much of the same spewed from the pipes of the Christian, Jewish and Hindu drones. Though, its interesting to note that I have yet to see any statistical data nor any evidence to support such claims; mainly due to the fact that there is none. With this video, I seek to present factual statistical data that expresses that such claims are not only false, but like most religious speech, are blatant falsities that exist as a propaganda force. Religion now like always maintains a clear and distinct correlation with conflict, not peace! The Vision of Humanity Global Peace Index survey accounts for internal and external conflicts and the subsequent losses incurred, Including that of potential terrorist acts. Relationships with neighbouring countries and overall political stability. Perceptions of criminality in society, violent and non violent crime rates and intentional homicidal displacement ratios to the overall population. Part 2 - Auto migrate exising ASP.NET application onto Windows Azure
cloudyshrimpy.blogspot.com In this video I am going to show how to migrate a existing ASP.net Application to Windows Azure. There will be two way, 1) via application 2) via powershell script SOmething you need to know: We will use Azure Management API and Azure storage API for this demo. In order to pass Azure Management API authentication, we need the Subscription ID and a Self-signed X509 certificate In order to pass Azure storage API authentication, we need the Account Name and Access Key When try to do auto deploy, we have to save deployment file onto azure blob storage first, then ask Windows azure to look for the file from the storage to make the deployment. Demo 1, migrate via an application which implentment by using Azure Management API and Azure storage API 1) show the existing asp.net application 2) create a service definition file 3) use cspack to pack the application 4) upload file onto blob storage 5) deployment onto windows Azure a web role "Ganda" will call the management API to deploy the application onto Azure, after that, the web role pass a message to a worker role "Ant", the worker role will keep checking the satus of the deployment, once it was deployed, the worker role will ask the deployment to run Demo 2, migrate via powershell script automatically do all the job from step 3 to 5 in demo 1 Thank you for watching...

Should NZ have a deposit insurance scheme?
Intro Hello. I'm Bernard Hickey with the daily briefing from interest.co.nz... Today, we'll look at whether New Zealand should have a bank deposit insurance scheme, just like in other countries, And we'll look at the latest on housing prices and official interest rates, where some are now calling on the Reserve Bank to cut rates. We'll explain why they're wasting their time. Story 1, But firstly, we look at whether New Zealand should have a bank deposit insurance scheme. Most people here don't give much thought to whether they might lose their money if they put it in the bank. Surely the bank is safe? We haven't had a bank collapse and surely some one would stop that from happening. Well actually, there are no formal guarantees about the safety of your bank deposits. Aside from the shareholders at the big 4 Australian banks, we have no guarantees. Now the assumption is that the government would bail out one of those banks if they got into trouble, but that's only an assumption and a big one at that. New Zealand is unusual in that it doesn't have a deposit insurance scheme. Britain has one. The United States has one. Even Zimbabwe has one. The Reserve Bank has argued that a deposit insurance scheme raised a "moral hazard" risk. It says bank managers might lend willy nilly if they knew their depositors were safe, or that depositors wouldn't bother to check out their bank if they knew it was insured. I believe that argument is flawed. No one is checking out the bank now and ...
