Makindye Division is one of the divisions that makes up the city of Kampala, Uganda. The city's five divisions are:

• Kampala Central Division
• Kawempe Division
• Lubaga Division
• Makindye Division
• Nakawa Division

Makindye Division is in the southeastern corner of the city, bordering Wakiso District to the south and west. The eastern boundary of the division is Murchison Bay, a part of Lake Victoria. Nakawa Division lies to the northeast of Makindye Division. Kampala Central Division lies to the north and Lubaga Division lies to the northeast. The coordinates of the division are:00 17N, 32 35E (Latitude:0.2791; Longitude:32.5862)

Neighborhoods in the division include Kibuye, Kabowa, Lukuli, Luwafu, Nsambya, Kansanga, Muyenga, Ggaba and Munyonyo. It is also home to the neighborhood of Kabalagala, a center for Kampala nightlife. The following landmarks are located in Makindye Division:

Makindye is a hill in Kampala, Uganda's largest city and capital. Makindye is also the seat of Makindye Division, one of the five administrative zones of the city of Kampala. The other four divisions are:

• Kampala Central Division
• Nakawa Division
• Kawempe Division
• Lubaga Division

Makindye is bordered by Nsambya to the north, Kibuye to the northwest, Najjanankumbi to the west, Lubowa in Wakiso District to the south, Luwafu to the southeast and Lukuli to the east. Kansanga and Kabalagala lie to Makindye's northeast. The coordinates of Makindye are:00 16 45N, 32 11E (Latitude:0.2791; Longitude:32.5862). The road distance between Makindye and the central business district of Kampala is about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi).^[1]

Makindye at its peak, stands 1,230 metres (4,040 ft) above sea level. It affords a commanding view of the surrounding areas of the city and of neighboring parts of Wakiso District. It also affords a view of Murchison Bay, a part of Lake Victoria to the east and southeast of Makindye. The residential areas on Makindye hill are of middle class proportions. Many of the homes have adjacent plots of land which are often used to grow vegetables.
