Talk: The Italian Drama - Tragedy for Europe? | Quadriga
Does the resignation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti mean the end of the country's reform program? There have already been signs of a return to old ways. Former premier Silvio Berlusconi has announced he will stand for his old job in next year's elections. His chances of emerging victorious are slim, but many fear a fourth term in office could spell disaster for both Italy and the Euro.

Laura Lucchini - a freelance journalist for the Argentinean newspaper "La Nación", the "El País" in Spain, and the Italian publications "Linkiesta" and "L´Unità".
Theodore Kouvakas - studied art history in Florence and architecture in Venice, and trained to become a journalist. Kouvakas covered foreign policy and financial markets for Imerissia SA, a financial and business newspaper.

Germany's New Role - The Reluctant Leader | Quadriga

Europe's Future - The Return Of Nationalism? | Quadriga
Europe's Future - The Return Of Nationalism? The mood in Europe is turning sour. The financial crisis - and its effects on countries like Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy - are destroying faith in the European Union. Forced cuts, unemployment, poverty and fear for the future mean old prejudices are resurfacing. Irritation, envy and hostility to neighbouring countries are increasing. Germans are once again being seen as Nazis, Greeks as dishonest, and others as lazy. The European project threatens to collapse acrimoniously. Why are different nations drifting apart? What is stopping them from working together to overcome the crisis? Are differences of approach just too great to be overcome? Have the bureaucrats in Brussels failed to take into account the importance of national feelings? What do you think? Europe's Future - The Return Of Nationalism? Email us at: Quadriga@dw.de
The guests of the show are:
Ulrike Guérot - head of the Europe research group at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
Katarzyna Stoklosa - assistant professor in the Department of Border Region Studies at the University of Sonderborg in Denmark.
Rob Savelberg - the Dutch journalist has been living in Berlin since 1998 and works as a correspondent for the newspaper "De Telegraaf".

Euro Crisis - Populism Dividing Europe
The euro crisis has earned Germany a lot of negative popularity in Europe. Despite agreeing to take on liabilities amounting to some 190 billion euros in the new ESM rescue fund, Europe's economic powerhouse has not been winning many plaudits. Last Friday, the Italian newspaper Il Giornale even referred to a "fourth Reich," accusing German Chancellor Angela Merkel of bringing Italy and Europe to its knees with her intransigence about what role the European Bank should play in the crisis. Cautious Germany - The Austerity Standoff
Europe is fighting for survival. Greece looks increasingly hopeless, Spain is on the brink of bankruptcy, Italy is under pressure and Cyprus has now also asked for a bailout. The situation is dire and there could be worse to come. Many are looking to Germany, the strongest economy in EU, to solve the Eurozone debt crisis. But while Germany is expected to show the way out of the crisis, it is also accused of trying to dominate its neighbours when it does not toe their line. Talk: Syrian Spillover -- Will NATO Be Drawn In? | Quadriga
The conflict in Syria is threatening to spread beyond the country's borders. Turkey retaliated to the shelling of a frontier town by firing at targets inside Syria. Turkey is a member of NATO and the alliance is willing to defend the country if necessary. But most NATO members want to avoid intervening in Syria. They fear it would escalate the conflict which might then spiral out of control.

Xi Jinping will certainly have his work cut out. The man expected to take over as China's new leader will have to contend with a cooling economy, corrupt leaders, increasing social inequality and simmering conflicts with neighboring countries. How will Xi hang on to China's place among the world's top powers? Will he chose to go down the path to reform or will he rule with an iron fist?
