Birmingham
Birmingham (
i/ˈbɜrmɪŋəm/ BUR-ming-əm, locally /ˈbɜrmɪŋɡəm/ BUR-ming-gəm) is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands of England. It is the most populous British city outside the capital London, with a population of 1,036,900 (2010 estimate), and lies at the heart of the West Midlands conurbation, the second most populous urban area in the United Kingdom with a population of 2,284,093 (2001 census). Birmingham's metropolitan area is also the United Kingdom's second most populous with a population of 3,683,000.
A medium-sized market town during the medieval period, Birmingham grew to international prominence in the 18th century at the heart of the Midlands Enlightenment and subsequent Industrial Revolution, which saw the town at the forefront of worldwide developments in science, technology and economic organisation, producing a series of innovations that laid many of the foundations of modern industrial society. By 1791 it was being hailed as "the first manufacturing town in the world". Birmingham's distinctive economic profile, with thousands of small workshops practising a wide variety of specialised and highly-skilled trades, encouraged exceptional levels of creativity and innovation and provided a diverse and resilient economic base for industrial prosperity that was to last into the final quarter of the 20th century. Coronation Street
Coronation Street is an English television soap opera set in Weatherfield, a fictional town in Greater Manchester based on Salford. Created by Tony Warren, Coronation Street was first broadcast on 9 December 1960. The show has been on the air for over 51 years. Coronation Street is produced by ITV Granada Television under ITV Studios and shown in all ITV regions. It has been filmed in Manchester at the Granada Studios since inception, but filming will move to a new set at Media City in Trafford in 2013.
Since first being aired, it has been one of the most financially lucrative programmes on British commercial television, underpinning the success of its broadcaster ITV and its franchise Granada Television. On 17 September 2010, it became the world's longest-running TV soap opera in production, after the United States soap opera As the World Turns ended.
The first episode was aired on 9 December 1960 and was not initially a critical success; Daily Mirror columnist Ken Iriwin claimed the series would only last three weeks. Granada Television commissioned only 13 episodes and some inside the company doubted the show would last its planned production run. Despite the criticism, viewers were immediately drawn to the serial, won over by Coronation Street's 'ordinary' characters. The programme also made use of Northern English language and dialect; affectionate local terms like "eh, chook?", "nowt" (IPA

The Czech state, formerly known as Bohemia, was formed in the late 9th century as a small duchy around Prague, at that time under dominance of the powerful Great Moravian Empire (which reached its greatest territorial extent during the reign of Svatopluk I from the House of Mojmír). After the fall of the Empire in 907, the centre of power was transferred from Moravia to Bohemia, under the Přemyslids. During the rule of Přemyslid dukes/kings and their successors, the Luxembourgs, the country reached its greatest territorial extent (13th–14th century). Life in the country was significantly affected by the Hussite wars, during which it faced economic embargo and crusades from all over Europe. Following the Battle of Mohács in 1526, the Crown of Bohemia was gradually integrated into the Habsburg monarchy as one of its three principal parts alongside the Archduchy of Austria and the Kingdom of Hungary. The Bohemian Revolt (1618–20) led to the further centralization of the monarchy including forced recatholization and Germanization. During radical reforms in the 18th century the Bohemian Crown was even de facto abolished (1749). In the 19th century the Czech lands became the industrial powerhouse of the monarchy and the core of the Republic of Czechoslovakia which was formed in 1918, following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire after World War I.

Huntingdonshire
Huntingdonshire ( /ˈhʌntɪŋdənʃər/ or /ˈhʌntɪŋdənʃɪər/; abbreviated Hunts) is a local government district within the administrative area of Cambridgeshire, covering the area around Huntingdon. Historically, it was one of the Administrative counties of England until 1974. It includes St Ives, Godmanchester, St Neots, and Ramsey.
The area corresponding to modern Huntingdonshire was first delimited in Saxon times, and the modern boundaries have remained largely unchanged since the 10th century.
In 1889, under the Local Government Act 1888 Huntingdonshire became an administrative county, with the new County Council taking over administrative functions from the Quarter Sessions. The area in the north of the county forming part of the municipal borough of Peterborough became instead part of the Soke of Peterborough administrative county, in Northamptonshire.
In 1965, under a recommendation of the Local Government Commission for England, it was merged with the Soke of Peterborough to form Huntingdon and Peterborough - the Lieutenancy county was also merged. Also at this time St Neots expanded westward over the river into Eaton Ford and Eaton Socon in Bedfordshire.

Margate is a seaside town in the district of Thanet in East Kent, England. It lies 38.1 miles (61.3 km) east-northeast of Maidstone, on the coast along the North Foreland, and contains the areas of Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay and Westbrook.
Margate was recorded as "Meregate" in 1264 and as "Margate" in 1299, but the spelling continued to vary into modern times. The name is thought to refer to a pool gate or gap in a cliff where pools of water are found, often allowing swimmers to jump in. The cliffs of the Isle of Thanet are composed of chalk, a fossil-bearing rock.
The town's history is tied closely to the sea and it has a proud maritime tradition. Margate was a "limb" of Dover in the ancient confederation of the Cinque ports. It was added to the confederation in the 15th century. Margate has been a leading seaside resort for at least 250 years. Like its neighbour Ramsgate, it has been a traditional holiday destination for Londoners drawn to its sandy beaches. Margate had a Victorian pier which was largely destroyed by a storm in 1978.

St Neots /sɨnt ˈniːʊts/ is a town and civil parish in the county of Cambridgeshire, England, next to the Bedfordshire county border. Until 1974 it was part of Huntingdonshire. It lies on the River Great Ouse in Huntingdonshire District, approximately 49 miles (79 km) north of central London. St Neots is the largest town in Cambridgeshire (Cambridge and Peterborough both being cities) with a population of 26,356 people, although this has grown considerably since the last census in 2001. . The town is named after the Cornish monk St. Neot whose bones were stolen from the village of St Neot on Bodmin Moor and concealed in the nearby priory of the same name.
The pilgrim trade brought prosperity for the town, and it was granted a market charter in 1130. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the town enjoyed further prosperity through corn milling, brewing, stagecoaching and railways. In 1973, St Neots was one of the towns listed in Hansard as being designated for expansion to allow for London overspill. Today, the town is a thriving commuter town.

Alan Price
Alan Price (born 19 April 1942, Fatfield, Washington, County Durham) is an English musician, best known as the original keyboardist for the English band The Animals and for his subsequent solo work.
Price is a self-taught musician and was educated at Jarrow Grammar School, South Tyneside and was a founding member of the Tyneside group The Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo, which was later renamed The Animals. His organ-playing on songs by The Animals, such as "House of the Rising Sun", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "Bring It On Home To Me" was a key element in the success of the group.
After leaving the Animals, Price went on to have success on his own and with Georgie Fame. He introduced the songs of Randy Newman to a wider audience. Later he appeared on his own television show, as well as achieving success with film scores winning including critical acclaim for his musical contribution to the 1973 fim O Lucky Man! and wrote the score to the stage musical Andy Capp. In addition he has appeared in the acting credits for films and television productions.

Amy Childs
Amy Childs (born 8 June 1990) is an English model, beautician, reality television contestant and television presenter from Essex (though born in East London). Childs rose to fame after appearing in the first two series of the award winning ITV2 series The Only Way Is Essex. Childs came 4th place in Celebrity Big Brother in 2011.
Amy Andrea Childs was born in Barking but relocated to Brentwood, Essex at the age of six. She attended Raphael's Independent Private School and was appointed Head Girl, but suffered from dyslexia. She left the school with four GCSE qualifications and went on to study at 21 Briarwood with Kieth Allan as one of her fellow students where she received a Level Two and Level Three Diploma in Beauty Specialised Techniques before working as a therapist in Harmony Health and Beauty at Epping Forest Country Club for two years. Amy is one quarter Irish as her maternal grandmother was born in Ireland.
Childs became well known in 2010 while appearing in the ITV2 semi-reality programme The Only Way Is Essex where she brought the word "vajazzle" – the adornment and decoration of the pubic region – to public notice. Childs later signed to Can Associates management agency, the same agency that represented Jordan, Childs's heroine: "Jordan is definitely my idol. Her looks, her career, her businesses – she's fantastic." Childs puts her name to a ghost-written column for New! magazine and presents a regular fashion segment on ITV1's This Morning. She has also posed for the fashion magazine Vogue and attended the 2011 ceremony of the British Academy Television Awards, at which The Only Way is Essex received an award. The Sun revealed a list of the richest The Only way is Essex stars current and previous with Childs holding the top spot with £1.5 million followed by Mark Wright.

Anne Diamond
Anne Margaret Diamond (born 8 September 1954) is an English radio and television presenter and journalist. She hosted Good Morning Britain for TV-am and the similarly titled Good Morning... with Anne and Nick for BBC1, both with Nick Owen as her co-presenter. Currently Anne presents a phone-in show on BBC Radio Berkshire on weekday mornings from 10am to 1pm and makes regular appearances airing her views as a panelist on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 and BBC London, and is a regular columnist for the Daily Mail. She is most well known for her successful campaigning for research into cot death following the death of her third son Sebastian. A campaign which she co-founded in 1991 was reported to have cut the incidents of cot death in the UK from 2,000 a year to close on 300.
Diamond's parents were of Irish ancestry, although her father was raised in Scotland. She was born and grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire, and she attended Worcester Grammar School for Girls. She is the cousin of Scots singer-songwriter Jim Diamond.

Anthea Turner
Anthea Millicent Turner (born 25 May 1960) is an English television presenter and media personality.
Turner was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and educated there at the independent St. Dominic's High School (since demolished) in Hartshill.
Turner joined BBC Radio Stoke as a runner, eventually joining breakfast show presenter Bruno Brookes as part of his crew. The couple became romantically involved and employed Peter Powell as an agent through his management company.
Turner moved into television through Sky Channel presenting live music programmes from July 1986 to 1989. Her debut on national television was with the BBC on But First This, which led to her fronting two series for the BBC on the Saturday morning show Up2U.
The short-lived Saturday morning children's show UP2U was a flop, and is chiefly remembered for a motorcycle stunt that went wrong. Turner suffered burns and temporary hearing loss, which led to her successful lawsuit against the BBC.
She was the only non-Radio One DJ to regularly present Top of the Pops, remaining with the programme for three years.

Audrey Roberts
Audrey Roberts (née Potter) is a fictional character from the British soap opera Coronation Street, played by Sue Nicholls. Audrey made her first appearance on 16 April 1979. After playing the role as a recurring guest for the next six years, Nicholls joined the cast regularly in 1985 and has been with the show ever since. Jonas Erik Altberg (born 22 December 1984 in Halmstad, Sweden), better known by his stage name Basshunter, is a Swedish singer-songwriter, record producer, and DJ. He is best known for his number one hits "Boten Anna", "Dota", "Now You're Gone" and "All I Ever Wanted". Basshunter has so far released a total of six albums, two of which have been released in the UK. His UK single, "Saturday", was released in July 2010, and he also competed in hit reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother in January 2010. His song "Sverige" was also used as Sjölunden's International Day song in 2008. Basshunter is working on a fourth studio album to be released this year.
Jonas Altberg was born in Halmstad and lived with his parents and younger brother near Tylösand. He began producing music under the stage name "Basshunter" in 2002, using Fruity Loops, and released his first albums, The Old Shit (1999) and The Bassmachine (2004), through his own web site. After that he started working as a DJ. In April 2006, he signed with Warner Music, releasing his first single, "Boten Anna". In 2007, he released a re-recording entitled "Now You're Gone," featuring entirely re-written lyrics to appeal to a foreign market. The song charted at number one on the UK Singles Chart and stayed there for five weeks.

Adams was a member of four-piece boyband A1, who won a BRIT Award in 2001 for Best Newcomer and had two number one singles, "Take On Me" and "Same Old Brand New You", before separating. Whilst in the boyband, Adams also scooped a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party Award for Most Fanciable Male in 2001.
It was announced in 2009 that A1 were to reform to compete to represent Norway in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

Carole Anne Malone (born 14 October 1954 in Newcastle) is an English journalist, commentator on current affairs and occasional broadcaster.

Chris Eubank, Lord of the Manor of Brighton (born Christopher Livingstone Eubanks on 8 August 1966)[citation needed] is a British retired boxer who held world titles at middleweight and super middleweight. Christopher Livingstone Eubanks, is one of the sons of Rachel Scollins (later opting to delete the 's' from his surname) was born on 8 August 1966, in Dulwich, South London and spent his early days in Jamaica (from two months old to six years old). On his return to England, he lived in Stoke Newington, Dalston, Hackney and then Peckham; largely impoverished.
He attended Bellingden Junior School, and then Thomas Carlton Secondary School, from where he was suspended eighteen times in one year and then expelled, despite claiming he was gallantly trying to protect other children from bullies. He then attended Peckham Manor School, from where he was suspended five times in four weeks and then expelled. He was then put into care and spent time in various institutions under the care of Social Services. Some time was spent at Orchard Lodge Regional Resource Centre, Anerley in 1981. Born in Walton, Liverpool, she is the daughter of a butcher who had a shop in Toxteth. She trained at the Elliott-Clarke Theatre School in Liverpool, and worked on the weekends in her fathers shop.
Her first singing gig, at the age of 14, was in the Montrose Club in Liverpool. She was then educated fulltime at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. In 1987, she was a member of the Southport Summer Youth Theatre Workshop's production of the musical Hair. Following this production, she auditioned for a part in the Southport Arts Centre's Centre Stage Company production of Chicago but was turned down because she was considered too young; she later went on to star in a West End version of the same show.
After leaving stage school, Sweeney had many singing engagements before landing the role of Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside in 1991. She entertained cruise ships for P&O as a singer for four years before returning to England. On her return, Sweeney reprised her role of Lindsey and remained on the show as a leading character until its demise in 2003.

Artis Leon Ivey Jr. (born August 1, 1963), better known by the stage name Coolio, is an American Grammy Award winning musician, rapper, actor, and record producer. He is best known for the song "Gangsta's Paradise", and the theme song for Kenan & Kel a Nickelodeon show from 1996 to 2000.
He recorded two singles in the late 1980s, titled "Watcha Gonna Do" and "You're Gonna Miss Me". Neither single was successful, but Coolio had made connections in the Los Angeles rap scene, and ended up joining the group WC and the Maad Circle in 1991. WC was the group's lead rapper, but Coolio was another rapper in the group. He had a few verses on the group's debut album, Ain't a Damn Thang Changed, including on the single "Dress Code". The album was regionally successful, but did not make much impact on a national scale.
Three years later in 1994, Coolio signed to Tommy Boy Records and released his debut solo album, It Takes a Thief. The lead single "Fantastic Voyage" was put into heavy rotation on MTV, and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Fantastic Voyage" would become one of the biggest rap singles of the year. The album also contained a few minor hits in "County Line" and "I Remember". It Takes a Thief eventually peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 200, becoming certified Platinum. The album received praise for bringing a humorous and lighthearted perspective to often violent and profane themes of typical gangsta rap.

His biography at NBA.com states that he is "arguably the best rebounding forward in NBA history". On April 1, 2011, the Pistons retired Rodman's #10 jersey. Later that same year, Rodman was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Rodman experienced an unhappy childhood and was shy and introverted in his early years. After aborting a suicide attempt in 1993, he reinvented himself as a "bad boy" and became notorious for numerous controversial antics. He dyed his hair in artificial colors, presented himself with many piercings and tattoos and regularly disrupted games by clashing with opposing players and officials. Dirk Benedict (born March 1, 1945) is an American movie, television and stage actor, perhaps best known for playing the characters Lieutenant Templeton "Faceman" Peck in The A-Team television series and Lieutenant Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica film and television series.
Benedict was born Dirk Niewoehner in Helena, Montana, the son of Pricilla Mella (née Metzger), an accountant, and George Edward Niewoehner, a lawyer. He grew up in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. He graduated from Whitman College in 1967.
Benedict's film debut was in the 1972 film Georgia, Georgia. When the New York run for Butterflies Are Free ended, he received an offer to repeat his performance in Hawaii, opposite Barbara Rush. While there, he appeared as a guest lead on Hawaii Five-O. The producers of a horror film called Ssssss saw Benedict's performance in Hawaii Five-O and promptly cast him as the lead in that movie. He next played the psychotic wife-beating husband of Twiggy in her American film debut, W. Benedict starred in the television series Chopper One which aired for one season in 1974. He also made an appearance in Charlie's Angels.

Donny Tourette
Donny Tourette (born Patrick Brannon on 4 March 1981) is an English singer-songwriter best known for his work with the punk rock band Towers of London. He first became famous after appearing in the 2007 edition of Celebrity Big Brother.
Tourette was the eighth Celebrity Big Brother 2007 contestant to enter the UK Big Brother House on 3 January 2007. He swore at the crowd and made rude gestures, some crowd members chanted 'Who are ya?'. The host, Davina McCall, said that he "smelled like a brewery".
On his first night in the house, Tourette jumped into the Jacuzzi fully clothed. Later on, Jo O'Meara of S Club 7 pop fame, grabbed the double bed in the bedrooms, stated "I'm not sharing with Donny. I'd rather sleep on the floor. I can't sleep with a guy like that".Leo Sayer offered to swap with O'Meara, but after a while entered the diary room, saying "Donny's all right, but seeing him sprawled stark naked is not appealing". In the end Tourette had the bed to himself.
The house was later divided into "servant" and "master" quarters with Tourette as part of the servant section. Tourette scaled the garden wall to freedom after fewer than 48 hours in the house, stating "I'm not waiting hand on foot, on some fucking moron and her family", in reference to Jade Goody and her mother, as his reason for scaling the wall.

Faria Alam (born 13 February 1966) is a former Football Association secretary.
Faria Alam was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh to a moderate and educated Muslim family. Her father was a Pakistani bank employee and her mother Bangladeshi. She has two brothers and one sister.
In 1970, Alam and her family emigrated to England, and she was grew up in the North East, living in Bradford, Northumberland and Newcastle, she attended Ponteland High School. Frank Butcher
Francis Aloysius "Frank" Butcher is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by the late Mike Reid. Frank made his first appearance on-screen as a guest character in 1987 but, due to a positive viewer reception, he was reintroduced in 1988 as a regular. Reid took a long hiatus from EastEnders in 1994. Frank returned as a recurring character from December 1995 to January 1998, and eventually became a regular once again from May 1998 to November 2000, when Reid quit. Frank made three brief reappearances after that, the final one in December 2005. Given the widespread identification of Mike Reid as Frank, Reid's death in July 2007 led to BBC bosses deciding that it would not be possible for the character to return in the future. In November 2007, it was announced that the character would die off-screen and in April 2008 his funeral was screened as part of a special set of episodes, dubbed Frank week.
Frank was a wheeler-dealer, who liked to think of himself as a 'big player' in the business world, but in reality he was little more than a wily conman. He was a smooth-talker and full of charm, but his actions were often thoughtless and he tended to scarper instead of facing up to his responsibilities, leaving his loved ones to pick up the pieces. His love affair with Pat Harris stemmed back to his teens, and he could never quite let her go, always breaking her heart, disappearing and returning to break it all over again.

George Galloway
George Galloway (born 16 August 1954) is a British politician, author, journalist, and broadcaster, and the Respect Member of Parliament (MP) for Bradford West. He was previously an MP for the Labour Party, for Glasgow Hillhead and then its successor constituency Glasgow Kelvin from 1987 until 2005. He was expelled from the Labour Party in October 2003 because of his strident public opposition to the Iraq War. In the late-1980s Hansard records him delivering a ferocious assault on the Ba'ath regime, and Galloway opposed Saddam's regime until the United States-led Gulf War in 1991. Galloway is known for a visit to Iraq where he met Saddam Hussein, and delivered a speech, which ended in English with the statement "Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability." He has always stated that he was addressing the Iraqi people in the speech. Galloway testified to the United States Senate in 2005 over alleged illicit payments from the United Nations' Oil for Food Programme.

Price was a member of the breakdance crew Westside, based in the Whitmore Reans and Heath Town areas of Wolverhampton, in the 1980s. He later joined a breakdance crew called the Bboys, and made his name as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands.
His artwork around Birmingham and Wolverhampton was featured heavily in Afrika Bambaataa's documentary Bombing. He took part in the largest ever British graffiti art battle alongside Bristol artist Robert "3D" Del Naja, who later formed Massive Attack. He is mentioned for his graffiti in the book Spraycan Art by Henry Chalfant and James Prigoff, which contained several samples of his art.

Hannah Waterman-Groves (born 22 July 1975) is an English actress, daughter of Minder star Dennis Waterman and his second wife, actress Patricia Maynard.
A former pupil of Norwich High School for Girls and Saint Felix School, Southwold and Putney High School, and a graduate of the University of Warwick, Waterman joined the cast of BBC soap opera EastEnders as Laura Beale in February 2000 and left the show in 2004. Before playing Laura, she appeared as a HIV patient in 1997. At the age of 22, Fleiss began managing a prostitution ring under Madam Alex after meeting the famous Madam 90210 in 1987 via film director boyfriend Ivan Nagy. Fleiss stated in 2002 in an interview with Larry King that her relationship with Alex was "a very intense relationship" and that she "was kind of like the daughter she loved and hated, so she was abusive and loving at the same time." Ivana was born to Milos and Maria (née Francova) in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia, now Zlín, Czech Republic. From a very young age, her father nurtured and encouraged her skiing talent. In 1972, Ivana Zelníčková was selected as an alternate on the 1972 Czechoslovak Olympic Ski Team which allowed her several opportunities to travel outside the Communist Bloc. A year earlier, she married Austrian skier, Alfred Winklmayr, in order to obtain a foreign passport so that Communist leaders would not deem her a defector.
In the early 1970s she earned a master's degree in physical education from Charles University of Prague. In 1975 she left Czechoslovakia for Canada to be with a childhood friend, George Syrovatka, who owned a ski boutique there. For the following two years she lived in Montreal and worked as a model for some of Canada's top fur companies. In 1976 she divorced Winklmayr, left Syrovatka and moved to New York to promote the Montreal Olympics. It was in New York that she met Donald J. Trump, son of prominent real estate developer Fred Trump.

Dee was the youngest of three children born to Rosemary A. (née Stamper) and Geoffrey T. Dee, after Joanna Innes Dee & David Simon Innes Dee. Jack Dee was born in Bromley, Kent and grew up in nearby Petts Wood before moving with his family to Winchester when he was young. His father, Geoffrey, was a printer and his mother, Rosemary, was the daughter of two unsuccessful repertory actors, Henry Lionel Pope "Lionel" Stamper (1906–1985) & Edna May Howard Innes (1904–1969) (and the great-niece of Charles William Stamper, motor engineer to King Edward VII).
Dee was educated at both independent and state schools. Jack Andrew Tweed (born 9 June 1987) is Jade Goody's widower and was a contestant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother.
Tweed was born in Waltham Forest, London, and has a younger brother, Lewis. He entered the Big Brother House on 5 January 2007 as a member of Goody's family. He courted controversy over allegedly referring to fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty as a "cunt" and "Paki" and suggested that she should remove objects from the toilet with her teeth. Jade Goody
Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody (5 June 1981 – 22 March 2009) was an English celebrity. She came into the public spotlight while appearing on the third series of the then Channel 4 reality TV programme Big Brother in 2002, an appearance which led to her own television programmes and the launch of her own products after her eviction from the show. In 2003, following her public appearance in Big Brother, Goody was voted by the public as the fourth worst Briton in the British TV station Channel 4's 100 Worst Britons as inspired by the BBC series 100 Greatest Britons.
In January 2007, she was a housemate in Celebrity Big Brother. During the show she was accused of racist bullying against Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. In late 2007 and early 2008, several public polls put Goody in an unfavourable light.
In August 2008, she appeared on the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss, but withdrew early from the show and returned to the UK after being told she had cervical cancer. In February 2009, after the cancer metastasised, she was told that it was terminal. She married Jack Tweed on 22 February 2009 and died, one month later, in the early hours of 22 March 2009.Sky Living have aired four tribute shows to Goody from 2009 to 2011 documenting her early life to fame and her final months. Jane Therese Curtin (born September 6, 1947) is an American actress and comedienne. She is sometimes referred to as "Queen of the Deadpan".

Jedward are an Irish pop duo comprising identical twins John and Edward Grimes (born 16 October 1991 in Dublin, Ireland). John Inman
Frederick John Inman (28 June 1935 – 8 March 2007) was an English actor best known for his role as Mr. Humphries in Are You Being Served?, a British sitcom in the 1970s and 1980s. Inman was also well known in the United Kingdom as a pantomime dame.
Born in 1935, Inman made his stage debut aged 13. He worked in retail in London as a young adult and after four years left to earn his Equity Card. He made his West End debut in the 1960s, and his television debut in an episode of A Slight Case of ... entitled The Enemy Within in 1965, next appearing in an episode of Two In Clover in 1970. After a successful pilot of Are You Being Served?, Inman played the camp Mr. Humphries in the sitcom from 1972 to 1985. This role made him a household name and won him awards, including BBC TV Personality of the Year. In his later years, John Inman became a well known pantomime dame. He died of hepatitis in 2007 aged 71.
Inman was born in 1935 in Preston, Lancashire, and was a cousin of actress Josephine Tewson. At the age of 12, Inman moved with his parents to Blackpool where his mother ran a boarding house, while his father owned a hairdressing business. As a child, he enjoyed dressmaking. He was educated at Claridge House in Preston, and then a secondary modern. Inman always wanted to be an actor, and his parents paid for him to have elocution lessons at the local church hall. At the age of 13 he made his stage debut in the Pavilion on Blackpool's South Pier, in a melodrama entitled Freda. Aged 15, he took a job at the pier, making tea, clearing up, and playing parts in plays.

John McCririck (born 17 April 1940) is an English television horse racing pundit. He is notable not only for his racing opinions but also for his old-fashioned style of dress and mannerisms. With his trademark deerstalker hat, tweed jacket and large sideburns, which he calls his wackers, he affects the part of either Sherlock Holmes or a well-dressed gamekeeper, and he happily acts the role of a country gentleman. During 1984 and 1985, horse racing moved to Channel 4 as referred to as Channel 4 Racing. In 2002, Channel 4 launched its own digital television racing channel, attheraces, which was sold to BSkyB in 2003. He is famous for his outspoken opinions; in particular, he has risen to the defence of punters when he thinks they are being given bad value[clarification needed]' and is highly critical of jockeys when he doesn't think they have ridden well. He is best known to American racing audiences for his annual appearance on the Breeders' Cup telecast, in which he invariably touts British horses over their American rivals. During the 2009 Breeders' Cup telecast on ESPN, McCririck said that Conduit had no chance to win the Turf, and that people betting on Zenyatta in the Breeders' Cup Classic were "giving your money away". Both horses proceeded to win in dramatic fashion.

John William "Johnny" Carson (October 23, 1925 – January 23, 2005) was an American television host and comedian, known for thirty years as host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962–1992). Keith Duffy
Keith Peter Thomas Francis John Duffy (born 1 October 1974) is an Irish singer-songwriter, actor and radio and television presenter. He began his professional music career as part of Irish boyband Boyzone alongside Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Stephen Gately in 1994. Henry Kenneth Alfred "Ken" Russell (3 July 1927 – 27 November 2011) was an English film director, known for his pioneering work in television and film and for his flamboyant and controversial style. James Victor MacKenzie (born 6 January 1986, Chingford, London, England), better known as Kenzie or MC Kenzie, is a British rapper and former member of 10-piece UK pop-rap band Blazin' Squad. He now makes a living as a personal fitness instructor in Fairlop.
Kenzie grew up in Chingford, East London and attended Highams Park School.
Blazin' Squad was a ten-piece UK pop-rap vocal group. Despite avoiding the typical 'boyband' image, they appealed to a similar pre-teen female fanbase. The group subsequently split in 2005. MC Kenzie, MC Flava and MC Strider, went on to form the band, Friday Hill (as Kenzie, James and Mus). Friday Hill split up and on 14th June 2009 five of the original Blazin' Squad members released a single ('Lets Start Again') after reforming. It peaked at No. 51 on the UK Singles Chart .

Born on her sister Rebbie's 6th birthday on May 29, 1956, in Gary, Indiana, La Toya Jackson is the fifth of nine children born to Joseph and Katherine Jackson and the middle female child between Rebbie and Janet. Growing up, La Toya was a shy homebody. After her mother became a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965, La Toya, along with the rest of her siblings followed. Leo Sayer
Leo Sayer (born Gerard Hugh Sayer, 21 May 1948) is a British singer-songwriter, musician, and entertainer whose singing career has spanned four decades. Sayer became a naturalised Australian citizen in 2009. Sayer was a top singles and album act on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1970s. His first seven hit singles in the UK all reached the Top 10 – a feat first registered by his one-time manager, Adam Faith.
Sayer was born on 21 May 1948 in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, England. He was initially discovered by musician David Courtney, who then co-managed him with the singer turned manager, Adam Faith.
Sayer began his music career co-writing songs with David Courtney, including "Giving It All Away", which gave Roger Daltrey of The Who his first hit without The Who in 1973.
That same year, Sayer began his career as a recording artist. At the time of his initial chart breakthrough in the UK, with his second single "The Show Must Go On", he wore a pierrot style costume and make-up and the song went quickly to number two. Les Dennis
Les Dennis (born Leslie Dennis Heseltine; on 12 October 1953) is an English comedian, television presenter and actor. He was best known as the host of Family Fortunes for 15 years.
Dennis was born in Garston, Liverpool, Lancashire. His father worked in a betting shop after service in the Royal Navy during World War II and a period as a football player on the books of Liverpool F.C. (but did not play for the first team), whilst his mother worked in a factory. He attended the Stockton Wood and Joseph Williams primary schools and then Quarry Bank High School after passing the Eleven plus exam. He had a Saturday job in Burton's clothes store whilst still at school and started in entertainment as a stand-up comedian in working men's clubs.
As a comedian Dennis worked the North West social and working men's clubs. In 1974, he won "New Faces", an ITV talent show and appeared on numerous light-entertainment shows. In 1982, he joined as one of the team on Russ Abbot's Madhouse and The Russ Abbot Show before forming a comedy partnership with fellow impressionist Dustin Gee, which in turn led to a series of their own, The Laughter Show. Following Gee's death in 1986, Les carried on The Laughter Show as a solo performer and became the third host of Family Fortunes for a fifteen-year run from 1987 to 2002.

Lucien Laviscount grew up in Ribble Valley in Lancashire. Mark Owen
Mark Anthony Patrick Owen (born 27 January 1972), is an English singer-songwriter. He is a member of pop band Take That. The band were hugely successful during the 1990s and have enjoyed even more success since their reunion in 2005. As a solo artist, Mark Owen had sold over 400,000 records worldwide and 80 million with Take That.
Take That formed in 1990 and during his time with the group, Owen sang lead vocals on "Babe", which was released in December 1993 from the Everything Changes album. Marti Webb
Marti Webb (born 13 December 1944, Cricklewood, North West London) is a musical actress from England, who appeared on stage in Evita, before starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's one woman show Tell Me on a Sunday in 1980. This included her biggest hit single, "Take That Look Off Your Face", a UK top three hit, with the parent album also reaching the top three.
Having studied at the Aida Foster stage school, Webb first came to prominence as Ann in the original London production of Half a Sixpence opposite Tommy Steele. Burns was born in Port Sunlight, Bebington, Wirral, to an English father and German mother. His mother Eva was Jewish and born in Heidelberg, Germany. She had fled to Vienna, Austria to escape the anti-Semitic laws of the Nazis. It was in Vienna that she met Burns' father, then a British soldier, at a soldiers' tea dance.
When talking about his late mother in an interview for television programme Psychic Therapy, he said "as far as parental skills go in the conventional, normal world, she certainly wasn't a mother, but she's the best human being that I've ever had the privilege of being in the company of, and I know that she had a special plan for me. She called me Star Baby and she knew that there was something special in me. Just an incredible German woman; tiny, five-foot-one, but she could move a fucking wardrobe, she could lift a wardrobe." Ron Moody (born Ronald Moodnick; 8 January 1924) is an English actor.
Moody was born in Tottenham, North London, England, the son of Kate (née Ogus) and Bernard Moodnick, a studio executive. His father was of Russian Jewish descent and his mother was a Lithuanian Jew. He is a cousin of director Laurence Moody and actress Clare Lawrence. His surname was legally changed to Moody in 1930.
Moody was educated at Southgate County School, which at the time was a state grammar school, and based in Palmers Green in the London Borough of Enfield, in North London, followed by the London School of Economics in Central London, where he trained to become a sociologist.
Despite training to be a sociologist, Moody began appearing in theatrical shows and later decided to become a professional actor.
Moody has worked in a variety of genres, but is perhaps best known for his starring role as Fagin in Lionel Bart's stage and film musical Oliver! based on Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. He created the role in the original West End production, and reprised it in 1984 on Broadway and in the 1968 film, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Sally Bercow (née Illman; born 22 November 1969) is the wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow. She was a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother 2011 and was evicted from the house on 26 August 2011.
Sally Illman attended Marlborough College public school, as a contemporary of the British Prime Minister's wife, Samantha Cameron, and went on to attend Keble College, Oxford, dropping out after two years. Ferguson settled in the UK after marrying an Englishman. She has appeared extensively in theatre, including the musicals Soul Train and Always, which also starred Shani Wallis, at the Victoria Palace, London. Mark Althavean Andrews (born November 9, 1978), known by his stage name Sisqó, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer and actor. He is lead singer of R&B group Dru Hill, and has also released solo material, including his successful first solo album Unleash the Dragon which included the single "Thong Song". Perkins was educated at Croham Hurst School, an independent school for girls in Croydon in South London, at the same time as the BBC Breakfast News presenter Susanna Reid. The show was made in reaction to the Scarman report which looked into the causes of that summers riots in Moss Side, Toxteth, Brixton, Handsworth and St Pauls, Bristol. Amongst the other kids on the dole alongside Christian on Devil's Advocate was Johnny Marr of The Smiths. As a result of his appearances on the programme, Christian was offered his own radio show on BBC Radio Derby called Barbed Wireless.

Tommy Sheridan
Tommy Sheridan (born 7 March 1964, Glasgow) is a Scottish socialist politician. He has had various prominent roles within the socialist movement in Scotland and is currently one of two co-convenors of the left-wing Scottish political party Solidarity.
Sheridan was active as a Militant tendency entryist in the Labour Party, before leaving Labour as a member of Scottish Militant Labour (SML). He was a prominent campaigner against the poll tax in Scotland, and was jailed for six months for attending a warrant sale after Glasgow Sheriff Court had served a court order on him banning his presence. Sheridan has twice been jailed in connection with campaigning against the presence of the nuclear fleet at Faslane Naval Base - a presence which continues.
In 2006 in the case of Sheridan v News International he won an action for defamation against the News of the World and was awarded £200,000 damages. The following year, he was charged with perjury, for having told lies to the court in the defamation case. In the following weeks, six of his relations and colleagues were also charged. In October 2010, he appeared together with his wife Gail at a trial for perjury. While the charges against his wife were withdrawn, on 23 December 2010, Sheridan was convicted of perjury, and on 26 January he was sentenced to three years imprisonment. In the light of the News of the World phone hacking affair, the Crown Office has been ordered to reassess the case. He was released from prison on 30 January 2012, one year into his sentence.

She selected Families of SMA as the charity to receive a donation from her participation in the show because her niece had died from Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). And Sophie Sumner, as Melanie the naughty fairy, lights up the screen every time she appears.Managing to convey a gauche inquisitiveness and a sly adventurousness all at once. The on screen chemistry between the two leads is wonderful and successfully blends pathos, a cheeky sexuality and humour together in a delightful way. Rula Lenska brings a smoky gravitas to her role as the majestic Fairy Mother and Edmund Kingsley hams it up wonderfully as an aspirational horror film Director. The jokes and sight gags come thick and fast throughout, the script (by David Rose) is concise, clever and doesn't take itself too seriously.The lighting, locations and the score by Henry Marsh all give the film life and energy. In May 2012, I will be driving my 1963 Porsche engine Vw Herbie from Liverpool to Monaco, taking in the original route from the film 'Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo'. There are many stop offs en-route, including London & Paris. On arrival in Monaco, Herbie aims to drive a lap of the Grand Prix Circuit, and the whole challenge is being filmed for a documentary. In the year leading up to the main event, Herbie will be making appearances at various children's schools, sponsors outlets and organised fund raising events. I decided that Claire House was the appropriate Charity to raise money for as Herbie is loved by children all over the world. Herbie underwent a full restoration in Ohio, USA by the wonderfully talented Dan Miller (Red Barn Restorations). A restorer of some repute, Dan has worked on many of the film Herbie's. My Herbie has been transformed and modelled on the very desirable Porsche engine Herbie, used in the film 'The Love Bug'. After the last two years of hard work, Herbie will be shipped over to the UK in July 2011 to start his publicity campaign at The Woodvale Car Show. To mark the launch of the Sound Barrier Star awards with Specsavers hearing centres, Coronation Street actress Rula Lenska has admitted for the first time that she suffers from higher frequency hearing loss and wears hearing aids in both ears. Rula Lenska, 63, says: 'I lost my hearing almost a decade ago after picking up an ear infection from coral when I was diving on holiday. I have never publically spoken about it, mainly because there is still so much stigma attached to hearing loss and too many jokes told about something that really isn't funny. By launching these awards I want to get people talking about hearing difficulties and celebrating the stories of those who have never let it hold them back.' Run in conjunction with charity partner Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the Specsavers Sound Barrier Star awards target the one in seven people in the UK that have hearing problems. Anyone can nominate themselves, a friend or family member by visiting one of over 400 Specsavers hearing centres nationwide to collect an entry leaflet. Alternatively they can download an entry form online at www.specsavers.co.uk/hearing or www.hearingdogs.org.uk The closing date for entries is 1 July. And Sophie Sumner, as Melanie the naughty fairy, lights up the screen every time she appears.Managing to convey a gauche inquisitiveness and a sly adventurousness all at once. The on screen chemistry between the two leads is wonderful and successfully blends pathos, a cheeky sexuality and humour together in a delightful way. Rula Lenska brings a smoky gravitas to her role as the majestic Fairy Mother and Edmund Kingsley hams it up wonderfully as an aspirational horror film Director. In May 2012, I will be driving my 1963 Porsche engine Vw Herbie from Liverpool to Monaco, taking in the original route from the film 'Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo'. There are many stop offs en-route, including London & Paris. On arrival in Monaco, Herbie aims to drive a lap of the Grand Prix Circuit, and the whole challenge is being filmed for a documentary. In the year leading up to the main event, Herbie will be making appearances at various children's schools, sponsors outlets and organised fund raising events. I decided that Claire House was the appropriate Charity to raise money for as Herbie is loved by children all over the world. Herbie underwent a full restoration in Ohio, USA by the wonderfully talented Dan Miller (Red Barn Restorations). A restorer of some repute, Dan has worked on many of the film Herbie's. My Herbie has been transformed and modelled on the very desirable Porsche engine Herbie, used in the film 'The Love Bug'. After the last two years of hard work, Herbie will be shipped over to the UK in July 2011 to start his publicity campaign at The Woodvale Car Show. Review from imdb.com: It's a simple tale of a homeless vampire reduced to snarling the streets of London, trying to sell charity newspapers to wary passers by. Luckily he encounters a mischievous fairy who's recently been ejected from the fairy ring, who decides to help our hero regain his rightful place and propagate his race. Tim Dry, in the title role, is a joy to watch. His knowingly OTT performance ranging from shades of Buster Keaton to Steven Berkoff to Max Schreck seamlessly in every scene. And Sophie Sumner, as Melanie the naughty fairy, lights up the screen every time she appears.Managing to convey a gauche inquisitiveness and a sly adventurousness all at once. The on screen chemistry between the two leads is wonderful and successfully blends pathos, a cheeky sexuality and humour together in a delightful way. Rula Lenska brings a smoky gravitas to her role as the majestic Fairy Mother and Edmund Kingsley hams it up wonderfully as an aspirational horror film Director. The jokes and sight gags come thick and fast throughout, the script (by David Rose) is concise, clever and doesn't take itself too seriously.The lighting, locations and the score by Henry Marsh all give the film life and energy. To mark the launch of the Sound Barrier Star awards with Specsavers hearing centres, Coronation Street actress Rula Lenska has admitted for the first time that she suffers from higher frequency hearing loss and wears hearing aids in both ears.
Rula Lenska, 63, says: 'I lost my hearing almost a decade ago after picking up an ear infection from coral when I was diving on holiday. I have never publically spoken about it, mainly because there is still so much stigma attached to hearing loss and too many jokes told about something that really isn't funny. By launching these awards I want to get people talking about hearing difficulties and celebrating the stories of those who have never let it hold them back.'
Run in conjunction with charity partner Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the Specsavers Sound Barrier Star awards target the one in seven people in the UK that have hearing problems. Anyone can nominate themselves, a friend or family member by visiting one of over 400 Specsavers hearing centres nationwide to collect an entry leaflet. Alternatively they can download an entry form online at www.specsavers.co.uk/hearing or www.hearingdogs.org.uk The closing date for entries is 1 July.

Luckily he encounters a mischievous fairy who's recently been ejected from the fairy ring, who decides to help our hero regain his rightful place and propagate his race. Tim Dry, in the title role, is a joy to watch. His knowingly OTT performance ranging from shades of Buster Keaton to Steven Berkoff to Max Schreck seamlessly in every scene. And Sophie Sumner, as Melanie the naughty fairy, lights up the screen every time she appears.Managing to convey a gauche inquisitiveness and a sly adventurousness all at once. The on screen chemistry between the two leads is wonderful and successfully blends pathos, a cheeky sexuality and humour together in a delightful way. Rula Lenska brings a smoky gravitas to her role as the majestic Fairy Mother and Edmund Kingsley hams it up wonderfully as an aspirational horror film Director. The jokes and sight gags come thick and fast throughout, the script (by David Rose) is concise, clever and doesn't take itself too seriously.The lighting, locations and the score by Henry Marsh all give the film life and energy. Rula Lenska (born 30 September 1947) is a UK-born actress of Polish extraction. Best known for her work in the United Kingdom, she is remembered in the United States for a television advert that presented her as a celebrity, even though she was not widely known in the USA at the time the advert was produced. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she became famous in the United States and Canada as well for her Alberto VO5 hair products commercials that began with a closeup of her stating, "I'm Rula Lenska." People assumed this was a product endorsement by a celebrity whose name the advertisers expected them to know, but it later was revealed that this was a marketing ploy. It worked, and thus in the United States she became famous for pretending to be famous. Most people in the US were unaware that she had an acting career in the United Kingdom, and believed she was just a model. At any rate, the "discovery" that she was not that prominent in the United States led to Alberto-Culver's eventual decision not to renew its contract with her, bringing an end to her commercial "starring roles."

Our aim is to raise a minimum of £53,000 for Claire House Children’s Hospice- Liverpool.
In May 2012, I will be driving my 1963 Porsche engine Vw Herbie from Liverpool to Monaco, taking in the original route from the film ‘Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo’. There are many stop offs en-route, including London & Paris. On arrival in Monaco, Herbie aims to drive a lap of the Grand Prix Circuit, and the whole challenge is being filmed for a documentary.
In the year leading up to the main event, Herbie will be making appearances at various children’s schools, sponsors outlets and organised fund raising events.
I decided that Claire House was the appropriate Charity to raise money for as Herbie is loved by children all over the world.
Herbie underwent a full restoration in Ohio, USA by the wonderfully talented Dan Miller (Red Barn Restorations). A restorer of some repute, Dan has worked on many of the film Herbie’s. My Herbie has been transformed and modelled on the very desirable Porsche engine Herbie, used in the film ‘The Love Bug’. After the last two years of hard work, Herbie will be shipped over to the UK in July 2011 to start his publicity campaign at The Woodvale Car Show. To mark the launch of the Sound Barrier Star awards with Specsavers hearing centres, Coronation Street actress Rula Lenska has admitted for the first time that she suffers from higher frequency hearing loss and wears hearing aids in both ears.
Rula Lenska, 63, says: 'I lost my hearing almost a decade ago after picking up an ear infection from coral when I was diving on holiday. I have never publically spoken about it, mainly because there is still so much stigma attached to hearing loss and too many jokes told about something that really isn't funny. By launching these awards I want to get people talking about hearing difficulties and celebrating the stories of those who have never let it hold them back.'
Run in conjunction with charity partner Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the Specsavers Sound Barrier Star awards target the one in seven people in the UK that have hearing problems. Anyone can nominate themselves, a friend or family member by visiting one of over 400 Specsavers hearing centres nationwide to collect an entry leaflet. Alternatively they can download an entry form online at www.specsavers.co.uk/hearing or www.hearingdogs.org.uk The closing date for entries is 1 July.

She was born in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, England. Her father, Major Count Ludwik Maria Lubienski, had led Radio Free Europe in Poland and was the chief of the Polish military mission in Gibraltar during World War II. Her mother was the former Countess Elzbieta Tyszkiewicz. She has two sisters: Anna, an actress who appeared in a few films in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and Gabriela. Lenska was educated at the Ursuline College in Westgate-on-Sea.
Early career[link]
Her big break was as Little Ladies' band member, "Q," in the British TV series Rock Follies (1976) and its sequel Rock Follies of '77 the following year. By this time, she had renounced her title as a Polish countess; she has said of the decision, "In England it doesn't count, if you'll excuse the pun."
Rock Follies was not widely seen in North America, but in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Lenska became famous in the United States and Canada for her Alberto VO5 hair products commercials. The commercial began with a closeup of her stating, "I'm Rula Lenska." People assumed this was a product endorsement by a celebrity whose name the advertisers expected them to know—although, in North America, Lenska was virtually unknown prior to the VO5 ad campaign. In another TV commercial, this time for RCA, she states "My hair is a brilliant red, my eyes a dazzling green and if you're not seeing that you're not watching on an RCA television".[citation needed]
In a Tonight Show monologue that aired after the commercials started running, Johnny Carson asked "Who the hell is Rula Lenska?" and began using Lenska's name as a running joke on his show.[4] Around the same time, Jane Curtin played Lenska in a sketch on Saturday Night Live.[5] Soon (at least to US audiences) Lenska became famous because of the mere assumption that she was famous. Most people in the US were unaware that she had an acting career in the United Kingdom, and believed she was a model. She has appeared in television series such as Special Branch, Minder, Boon, The Detectives, Footballers' Wives, To the Manor Born, One Foot in the Grave, Casualty, Space: 1999, Return of the Saint, Robin Of Sherwood, the Doctor Who serial Resurrection of the Daleks- (in late 1970, she got down to the final 5 actresses short-listed for the part of companion Jo Grant), Doctors and EastEnders, in which she played Frank Butcher's girlfriend, Krystal, in a Costa del Sol special (2002). She played Mrs Peacock in series 2 of Cluedo.
In 1976 she starred opposite Alan Price in Alfie Darling, appearing naked in several scenes. She also starred with the late John Inman in the short-lived (six episodes were screened) 1981 series Take a Letter, Mr. Jones, with Lenska as an executive and Inman as her secretary.
In 2003, she starred in the black comedy Paradise Grove alongside Ron Moody. She played Lintilla and her clones in the second Radio series of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and can also be heard in the third, fourth and fifth radio series which debuted on BBC Radio 4 in May 2005. She has presented travel programmes for the BBC and has recorded many audiobooks.
In the 2005 film Gypo, which was the first UK feature film to be made under Dogme rules, she plays a Roma refugee from the Czech Republic living on a caravan site in Margate.
Lenska also starred in "Garvey" in the independent British film Jack Says. opposite her one-time EastEnders co-star Mike Reid, which was released on DVD on 22 September 2008. She lent her voice to the upcoming animation film Agent Crush.
In 2009, Lenska joined the cast of Coronation Street as new character Claudia Colby, an old friend of Audrey Roberts. In May 2011, Lenska quit the role in order to join the Calendar Girls tour in August 2011.
Stage roles[link]
She has toured extensively both in the UK and abroad and appeared in several West End shows (most recently in The Vagina Monologues and 84 Charing Cross Road) and in many pantomimes and is a regular performer (and part of the original cast) of the touring play Seven Deadly Sins Four Deadly Sinners.
In December 2005, she appeared on stage with the London Gay Men's Chorus for their Christmas Show, Make the Yuletide Gay. She sang and danced while also hosting the show at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, the ([1]) Dome Concert Hall in Brighton and the Barbican Centre in London.
At the equivalent show in December 2006, comedienne Sandi Toksvig corrupted the lyrics of a song to suggest Lenska had a Christmas job in Debenhams. In 2007 she was to tour alongside Marti Webb and Sheila Ferguson in a new musical about menopause called Hot Flush.
Celebrity Big Brother[link]

Her work on tour with the London Gay Men's Chorus is assumed to have prompted her participation[citation needed] in the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother in January 2006. Her reason for accepting the invitation to go on the show was "I'm a crazy Polish countess who likes a challenge".
During the show, she declared that she had been a “Tibetan Buddhist” for many years but had been practising “Buddhism for the common man”, which has no hierarchical structure (Nichiren Daishonin), for two years.
On 13 January 2006, with fellow housemate, British MP George Galloway, she attracted the attention of the media by indulging in a role-play task set by Celebrity Big Brother, in which Galloway, as a cat, pretended to lick milk from her cupped hands, and Lenska stroked his ears and moustache. On another occasion during her time in the BB house, when accidentally locked in the toilet, singer Pete Burns quipped, "Oh dear, what can the matter be, clapped out actress stuck in the lavatory." Lenska was voted out of the show on 20 January 2006, the third housemate of the series to be evicted, after Jodie Marsh and Faria Alam.
On 23 January, three days after eviction, she gave an interview to UK radio station BBC Radio 5 Live berating Burns for his attitude and unfriendliness towards her. She also expressed disgust at Burns's wearing of a monkey fur coat. The "cat" incident with Galloway was highlighted, but Lenska insisted that there was nothing "untoward" about it, and laughed off any suggestion that she was romantically interested in the controversial MP.[citation needed] Her chosen charities were Wildlife Line and Children in Crisis.
Personal life[link]
She has been married twice, first to actor Brian Deacon (4 June 1977–1987), with whom she had one daughter, Lara Parker Deacon, and secondly, to actor Dennis Waterman, from 3 January 1987 until 31 March 1998. Both marriages ended in divorce. She and Waterman met on the set of Minder in 1982. Her marriage to Waterman ended because of his violent behaviour towards her and in March 2012 he caused controversy with some comments on that aspect of their relationship: "‘It’s not difficult for a woman to make a man hit her. She certainly wasn’t a beaten wife, she was hit and that’s different."[6][7][8] Rula Lenska said that she was relieved that he had now admitted beating her.[9]
Waterman's daughter, Hannah Waterman, was starring in EastEnders at the same time Lenska made her guest appearances, although they did not share any scenes together. In 2009 she sought compensation from the Polish government for the Communist states seizure of her family's Polish estate.[10]
