Compilers 10-01: Static vs Dynamic Typing
Compilers 10-01: Static vs Dynamic Typing
Compilers By Alex Aiken This course will discuss the major ideas used today in the implementation of programming language compilers, including lexical analysis, parsing, syntax-directed translation, abstract syntax trees, types and type checking, intermediate languages, dataflow analysis, program optimization, code generation, and runtime systems. As a result, you will learn how a program written in a high-level language designed for humans is systematically translated into a program written in low-level assembly more suited to machines. Along the way we will also touch on how programming languages are designed, programming language semantics, and why there are so many different kinds of programming languages. Why Study Compilers? Everything that computers do is the result of some program, and all of the millions of programs in the world are written in one of the many thousands of programming languages that have been developed over the last 60 years. Designing and implementing a programming language turns out to be difficult; some of the best minds in computer science have thought about the problems involved and contributed beautiful and deep results. Learning something about compilers will show you the interplay of theory and practice in computer science, especially how powerful general ideas combined with engineering insight can lead to practical solutions to very hard problems. Knowing how a compiler works will also make you a better programmer and increase your ability to learn new programming languages quickly. https://www.coursera.org/course/compilers- published: 24 Aug 2013

Dynamic Keyboard! A keyboard that changes to aid your typing!!! Dynamic Keyboard is the worlds first dynamic keyboard. We have new technologys like touch screens, yet we are still utilising them as if they were static buttons. Without animations, just static buttons! How does this help us? Using maching learning technologies and artificial intelligence algorithms I have been able to create a database of intelligence that helps modify the keys visibility and size depending upon what you are typing to predict your next letter. Trained on millions of words. My robot learns the trends of 16 languages! Rather than being obtrusive and ugly like predictive typing, this keyboard aids your current method of typing to increase accuracy without wasting screen space. For Example : If you press the 'h' key, the e,o,u,i and y keys expand as commonly the h key would be followed by these letters. When they grow, they are now more likely to be triggered, and keys like z etc stay small and unlikely. This style of prediction doesn't take over your typing, it aids your own method to increase accuracy! You dont even notice it's there after a while! This is not a keylogger! The only permission I use it the vibrate permission in order to create feedback on clicking keys. There is no data related permissions or any internet permissions in this app. This app is COMPLETELY safe! :D Features: ~~~~~~~~~ # Sleek Animations # Predictive Characters to aid your accuracy # Well made, key shortcuts Out 14th September 2013 For updates : Follow = @AlastairBreeze Subscribe = 8reezyUK Website = www.alastairbreeze.com- published: 07 Sep 2013
