FA/18 SUPER HORNET Twin 70mm 360 TV Flight Review in HD Part ONE!
Check out the full specs and HD pictures at: smarturl.it Check out the website at: smarturl.it Hey pilots! I am so excited to bring to you this flight review! Before we get started, I just want to say how disappointed I am to not be able to give you all more flying and more aggressive flying. You all know me for never holding back when it comes to wringing out an aircraft for a review! The winds on this day of the review were so strong, the F18 actually was blown upside down on the runway breaking many parts including the canopy mechanism. From that I did some quick repair and gave you guys and gals the best flying I could do with 30 plus knots of turbulent cross winds. No one was flying, but yours truly flew this for you. Keep an eye out for Part II coming real soon! I love this FA/18 and I can't wait to bring to you the next review! ~ Pete

Canon vs Tamron VC vs Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 Comparison Review
www.learningdslrvideo.com Now that I ordered my Canon 5D Mark III I can start buying some really good glass. Since I am mostly a run and gun shooter, I don't have the luxury of time to swap out prime lenses out on the fly all day long, so that is why the first lens I want to buy is a 24-70mm f2.8. Now I have used the Canon 24-70mm many times in the past and I really like it, but I got really excited when Lee Morris from Fstoppers.com turned me the new Tamron 24-70 VC lens that has VC or vibration control and is cheaper. The Canon 24-70 is $1600 and the Tamron is $1300. Lee had mixed results on which one is sharper so I thought I would give you guys another test. I'm a bit biased already on this review because I really want to Tamron to win but that's is why my good friend James Drake from 5KInsight is here to keep things in perspective. James is real smart guy, and has a lot of experience using really expensive glass, you should listen to him if he if we disagree. The reason why I want it to win is the Tamron has image stabilization which is awesome for video. For it to win, it needs to be just as sharp as the Canon and have a good working vibration control. I think a lot of people that shoot video are frustrated that Canon didn't give us a 24-70 with IS. I think Cannon lost an opportunity here and has left the door open for Tamron on this one. Important to note this is not the II version of the Canon lens that runs for $2300. So what I'm really hoping for in this test is ...

Cover creation
After working on the latest cover for Macworld Magazine I wanted to show what is involved in making a cover. I focused on the three main areas: the photography, photoshop and design. I chose a time lapse format to convey lots of information in a small amount of time. The only drawback of time lapse is that since half a day goes by in 30 seconds, the whole process seam so easy! Lots of details were left out of the design process (like the cover meetings and rounds of layout options). I began to photograph the design process after the layouts had already been narrowed down to just three cover designs.
On the technical side, for the time lapse video, I used the Canon 5D Mark II with a 24mm-70mm zoom. I chose the 5D because of its great image quality with high ISO's. Canon's sRAW1 gave me the flexibility of a RAW file with the file size of a jpeg. The actual Macworld cover was taken with a Phase One P65+ digital back attached to a 4x5 Sinar X camera with a 65mm lens.
Many thanks to Rob Schultz for allowing me to invade his office and literally shoot over his shoulder.
