The Power of Knowledge explores the fact that from Google, and Facebook and Wikipedia to the systems of democracy, finance, manufacture and the law - many aspects of modern life owe their existence to a single defining period: the Age of Enlightenment of the 18th century. In the space of barely 100 years, Western deference to divine and royal authority gave way to a belief that humans had the power to understand their own nature and the universe around them. Holy writ gave way to empirical investigation, the power of miracles to that of logic and reason. In The Power of Knowledge we can see it was a revolution in ideas, information and technology. Filmed in locations across Britain, France, Germany, Portugal and America, this illuminating series brings to life some of the key characters of the era - Newton, Erasmus, Darwin, Voltaire, Diderot, Condorcet, Frederick the Great and Thomas Jefferson - and the ideas that shaped the world we live in today. The Power of Knowledge is part of the BBC history series Heroes of the Enlightenment which provides an insightful look at this turbulent historical period.

Arvind Das - wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arvind_Narayan_Das In his book "India Invented", he made the observation that India is not something waiting to be discovered, as Jawaharlal Nehru had treated it in his Discovery of India, but something that is to be constantly invented in the process of understanding it- that was his statement of praxis. Year: 1999 1. Dawn of civilization. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jG3uUj42lE Part 2 covers the huge historical period from the Old Stone Age to the coming of the Aryans to the Indian Sub-continent. The Buddha overtaken. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq6Dk6OGEwI Part 5 captures the historical context of the virtual disappearance of Buddhism from India for several centuries and examines the hypothesis that it was the changing nature of the economy that rendered organised Buddhism more or less redundant for a long period. 6. The spice of life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSvzYxEDyUk Part 6 describes the history of South India including the development of a distinct culture in this region, the building of huge temples, the extension of agriculture and the creation of irrigation systems. 7. The long twilight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv-vGpeStdE Part 7 looks at feudalism in India, a feature that dominated much of the early Christian era in Indian history. 8. Pilgrims' progress. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15az12D8A-Q Part 8 covers the different forms of spirituality which developed in India, from pantheism and animism to organized religion and shows how the Indian culture has been formed by collective spiritual quests from the earliest times to the present. 9. Islam comes to Hindustan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d2QRolijCs Part 9 revolves around one of the largest influences that shaped medieval and modern Indian history: the coming of Muslims to the sub-continent. 10. West meets East. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyAkH5efJWk Part 10 looks at the coming of Europeans to India, beginning with early contacts with Portuguese, French, and British voyagers. Colonial encounters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=movNLVYtF2Q Part 12 centers around the consolidation of British rule in India, the policies of the British East India Company, the devastating economic impact of colonialism and the rise of nationalist forces in the country. 13. The nation comes of age. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn3ekiYfNWo Part 13 looks at the several civilizational trends that have formed India over the centuries and attempts to reinforce the idea that runs through the series that Indian history lives on in its past.

BAVARIAN ILLUMINATI - REAL SECRET SOCIETY (SHOCKING NWO HISTORY DOCUMENTARY) The Bavarian Illuminati was a secret society that existed in the so called ‘enlightenment era’ of eighteenth century Europe. It was founded on May 1st 1776 by Adam Weishaupt in Ingolstadt, Upper Bavaria with an initial membership of only five. Coming from a family of Orthodox Ashkenazi Jews who had converted to Roman Catholicism, Weishaupt already had previous educational ties with the Jesuit Order (another secretive organization), before he graduated the University of Ingolstadt aged 20 and became a professor of canon law. The official definition of the Bavarian Illuminati is that is was simply a collection of ‘free thinkers’ that gathered to exchange ideas regarding enlightenment and higher knowing, yet the vow of secrecy its members had to take suggests that more nefarious objectives were really the societies aims. While the Bavarian Illuminati did exist centuries ago and in ways we are able to separate them from any control figures of today using official definitions and explanations, there is still the strong likelihood that todays ruling elite all bear close relationship with and lineage to both the ideology and the members of the original Bavarian Illuminati. It’s aim was to fundamentally create a global control system unbeknown to the masses, so is it not a distinct possibility that what was known as the Bavarian Illuminati never actually disbanded but simply continued to develop and transformed into what is known as ‘the Illuminati’ today and that the the official definitions of the Bavarian Illuminati are simply one of their many smoke screens employed to sidetrack anyone looking into them?

They are often alleged to conspire to control world affairs, by masterminding events and planting agents in government and corporations, in order to gain political power and influence and to establish a New World Order. Central to some of the most widely known and elaborate conspiracy theories, the Illuminati have been depicted as lurking in the shadows and pulling the strings and levers of power in dozens of novels, movies, television shows, comics, video games and music videos. The Illuminati movement was founded on May 1, 1776 in Ingolstadt, Upper Bavaria as the Order of the Illuminati, and had an initial membership of five.[2] The founder was the Jesuit-taught Adam Weishaupt (d. 1830),[3] who was the first lay professor of canon law at the University of Ingolstadt.[1] The Order was made up of freethinkers as an offshoot of the Enlightenment and seems to have been modelled on the Freemasons.[4] Illuminati members took a vow of secrecy and pledged obedience to their superiors. Members were divided into three main classes, each with several degrees, and many Illuminati chapters drew membership from existing Masonic lodges. The goals of the Illuminati were to eliminate superstition, prejudice and the domination of government, philosophy and science by the Roman Catholic Church, to reduce oppressive state abuses of power, and to support the education of women and encourage their treatment as intellectual equals.[1] Weishaupt's original plan was for the Order to be named the "Perfectibilists".[2] The group has also been called the Bavarian Illuminati and its ideology "Illuminism". Many influential intellectuals and progressive politicians counted themselves as members, including Ferdinand of Brunswick and the diplomat Xavier von Zwack, who was the Order's second-in-command.[5] The Order had branches in most European countries and reportedly had around 2,000 members over a span of ten years.[1] It attracted literary men such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Johann Gottfried Herder and the reigning dukes of Gotha and Weimar. In 1777, Karl Theodor became ruler of Bavaria. He was a proponent of Enlightened Despotism and his government banned all secret societies including the Illuminati. Internal rupture and panic over succession preceded the society's downfall.[1] A government edict dated March 2, 1785 "seems to have been deathblow to the Illuminati in Bavaria". Weishaupt had fled and documents and internal correspondence, seized in 1786 and 1787, were subsequently published by the government in 1787.[6] Von Zwack's home was searched and much of the group's literature was disclosed.[5] #Hollywood #exposed #sign #symbols #secret #military #coverup #bradpitt #obama #willsmith #pharrell #beatles #lego #beckham #lilwayne #waltdisney #disney #britney #jordan #kanyewest #jayz #beyonce #Madonna #monroe #bob #oggy #rihanna #celebrity #actors #energy #negative #reverse #psychology #@occultism #psychopathy #truth #religion #cult #satanism #sacrifice #worldview #mental #control #NWO #MkUltra #mindcontrol #symbolism #fear #deception #knowledge #dark #occult #eye #human #gods #churchofsatan #priest #antonlavey #slave #Kabbalah #power #influence #modern #control #poison #666 #hypnosis #monarchproject #sex #pyramid #eye #ra #bad #good #submit #mustwatch #33 #evil #darkknight #freemason #masonic #911 #batman #startrek #towers #skullandbones #blackandwhite #egyptian #moon #blood #stanleykubrick #bohemiangrove #sandyhook #monster #masonic #rothschild #Rockefeller #owl #disney #... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Subscribe for more Educative & Truth Videos * Like & Share * go to our website http://www.advexon.com * Share your ideas and comment * WakeUp Channel --- https://www.youtube.com/user/truebiographyhd/ * Documentary HD Channel --- https://www.youtube.com/user/truedocumentaryhd/

In today’s (05th November, 2014) Morning Satsang "Cambodia – The Civilization of Enlightenment", Paramahamsa Nithyananda illustrates another unique aspect of Hinduism in that it gives everyone the space to argue. Who wants you to argue? Hinduism is about giving people the truths to experience on their own, setting the stage for analysis and debate, not to blindly follow an obscure ideal. He states how the pure Advaitha presented by Upanishads will be the thought current for this modern age and our developed brains – only the lifestyle of the ancient rishis can with stand the scrutiny of the current developed brains. The Examiner 2015-04-13The Age of Enlightenment (or simply the Enlightenment or Age of Reason) was a cultural movement of intellectuals in 18th century Europe and America, whose purpose was to reform society and advance knowledge. It promoted science and intellectual interchange and opposed superstition, intolerance and abuses in church and state. Originating about 1650 to 1700, it was sparked by philosophers Baruch Spinoza (1632–1677), John Locke (1632–1704), Pierre Bayle (1647–1706), physicist Isaac Newton (1643–1727), and philosopher Voltaire (1694–1778). The wide distribution of the printing press, invented in Europe in 1440, made possible the rapid dispersion of knowledge and ideas which precipitated the Enlightenment. Ruling princes often endorsed and fostered figures and even attempted to apply their ideas of government in what was known as Enlightened Despotism. The Enlightenment flourished until about 1790–1800, after which the emphasis on reason gave way to Romanticism's emphasis on emotion and a Counter-Enlightenment gained force.[citation needed]
Jonathan Swift (30 November 1667 – 19 October 1745) was an Anglo-Irishsatirist, essayist, political pamphleteer (first for the Whigs, then for the Tories), poet and cleric who became Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin.
He is remembered for works such as Gulliver's Travels, A Modest Proposal, A Journal to Stella, Drapier's Letters, The Battle of the Books, An Argument Against Abolishing Christianity, and A Tale of a Tub. Swift is probably the foremost prose satirist in the English language, and is less well known for his poetry. Swift originally published all of his works under pseudonyms—such as Lemuel Gulliver, Isaac Bickerstaff, M.B. Drapier—or anonymously. He is also known for being a master of two styles of satire: the Horatian and Juvenalian styles.
Jonathan Swift was born in Dublin, Ireland. He was the second child and only son of Jonathan Swift (1640-1667) and his wife Abigail Erick (or Herrick), of Frisby-on-the-Wreake. His father, a native of Goodrich, Herefordshire, accompanied his brothers to Ireland to seek their fortunes in law after their Royalist father's estate was brought to ruin during the English Civil War. Swift's father died at Dublin before he was born, and his mother returned to England. He was left in the care of his influential uncle, Godwin, a close friend and confidante of Sir John Temple, whose son later employed Swift as his secretary.
John Donne ( /ˈdʌn/ DUN) (between 24 January and 19 June 1572 – 31 March 1631) was an English poet, satirist, lawyer and priest. He is considered the pre-eminent representative of the metaphysical poets. His works are noted for their strong, sensual style and include sonnets, love poetry, religious poems, Latin translations, epigrams, elegies, songs, satires and sermons. His poetry is noted for its vibrancy of language and inventiveness of metaphor, especially compared to that of his contemporaries. Donne's style is characterised by abrupt openings and various paradoxes, ironies and dislocations. These features, along with his frequent dramatic or everyday speech rhythms, his tense syntax and his tough eloquence, were both a reaction against the smoothness of conventional Elizabethan poetry and an adaptation into English of European baroque and mannerist techniques. His early career was marked by poetry that bore immense knowledge of British society and he met that knowledge with sharp criticism. Another important theme in Donne’s poetry is the idea of true religion, something that he spent much time considering and theorising about. He wrote secular poems as well as erotic and love poems. He is particularly famous for his mastery of metaphysical conceits.
