16. Indriyāṇi manō buddhissatvaṁ tējō balaṁ dhr̥tiḥ Vāsudēvātmakānyāhuḥ kṣētraṁ kṣētrajña ēva ca The sense organs, the mind, the intellect, one's life, energy, strength, and courage are all sustained by Krishna, who is both the body and the knower of the body. 17. Sarvāgamānāmācāraḥ prathamaṁ parikalpatē Ācāra prabhavō dharmō dharmasya prabhuracyutaḥ All the sacred scriptures declare that one's foremost duty is right conduct. Virtue is the foremost requirement. Lord Krishna is the Lord of Righteousness. 18. R̥ṣayaḥ pitarō dēvā mahā bhūtāni dhātavaḥ Jaṁgamā jaṁgamancēdaṁ jagannārāyaṇōdbhavaṁ The sages, ancestral spirits, gods, the basic elements, all things that move or remain stationary, have all sprung from Lord Narayana. 19. Yōgō jñānaṁ tathā sānkhyaṁ vidyāśśilpādi karma ca Vēdāśśāstrāṇi vijñānamētat sarvaṁ janārdanāt Spiritual knowledge, philosophy, all the arts and sciences including sculptural and architectural skills, and even the Vedas and technology, and all the diverse scriptures have emanated from Lord Vishnu. 20. Ēkō viṣṇurmahad bhūtaṁ pr̥thag bhūtānyanēkaśaḥ Trīṁlōkān vyāpya bhūtātmā bhunktē viśvabhugavyayaḥ Vishnu, the one great being, pervades the innumerable individual beings in all the three worlds. He is the Self in all. He enjoys all the experiences. He is un-decaying. 21. Imaṁ stavaṁ bhagavatō viṣṇōr vyāsēna kīrtitaṁ Paṭhēdya icchēt puruṣaśśrēyaḥ prāptuṁ sukhāni ca This praise of Lord Vishnu that has been composed by Sage Vyasa should be chanted by those who desire to acquire happiness and everlasting Bliss. 22. Viśvēśvaramajaṁ dēvaṁ jagataḥ prabhumavyayaṁ Bhajanti yē puṣkarākṣaṁ na tē yānti parābhavaṁ Those who worship and adore) the birth-less eternal Lord of the Universe, whose eyes are like lotuses will never face any insult. Na tē yānti parābhavaṁ ōṁ nama iti I offer prayers to the one who protects me from insults. Arjuna uvāca - Arjuna said, 23. Padmapatra viśālākṣa padmanābha surōttama Bhaktānāmanuraktānāṁ trātā bhava janārdana "O Lord Vishnu, the Supreme among all gods, whose wide eyes are like the petals of a lotus, kindly save all those who love and adore you." Śrī Bhagavānuvāca - The Lord spoke: 24. Yō māṁ nāma sahasrēṇa stōtumicchati pānḍava Sōhamēkēna ślōkēna stuta ēva na saṁśayaḥ "O Arjuna! He, who likes to please me by praising me with the one thousand names, may do so. He may also please me by chanting just the single phrase, 'Soham' (He is I). There is no doubt in it." Stuta ēva na saṁśaya ōṁ nama iti I offer my prayers to Him who blesses without any uncertainty, those who praise Him. Vyāsa uvāca - Sage Vyasa said, 25. Vāsanād vāsudēvasya vāsitaṁtē jagattrayaṁ Sarva bhūta nivāsōsi vāsudēva namōstutē The three worlds are filled with the power of Krishna. I offer salutations to the great Krishna who resides in all beings." Śrī vāsudēva namōstuta ōṁ nama iti I offer my prostrations to Lord Krishna. Pārvatyuvāca - Parvati said, 26. Kēnōpāyēna laghunā viṣṇōr nāma sahasrakaṁ Paṭhyatē panḍitair nityaṁ śrōtumicchāmyahaṁ prabhō "O Lord Siva! Is there an easier method for chanting or studying the one thousand names of Vishnu that is accepted by the scholars? I have always longed to learn of it." Īśvara uvāca - Lord Siva replied: 27. Śrī rāma rāma rāmēti ramē rāmē manōramē Sahasranāma tastulyaṁ rāma nāma varānanē (3) "O my beloved! Chanting the name of Rama as, 'Rama Rama Rama' (three times) is equivalent to chanting the one thousand names of Lord Vishnu." Śrī rāmanāma varānana ōṁ nama iti Sri Guru Datta
