Eva Cassidy - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Tribute to the Extraordinary Eva Cassidy ~ I discovered the profound beauty and talent of Eva Cassidy just recently while recovering from surgery. Laptop surfing, I was searching for something to take my mind off the emotional anguish and physical pain of my recent wounds. Somehow I stumbled across the videos of Eva Cassidy's Live performance at Blues Alley. From her first notes, I was stunned and captivated. And comforted. Her musical selection, interpretation, range, enunciation, sustaining notes, phrasing, rich timbre and vocal acrobatics are exquisitely overwhelming. Her power and softness are a constant marvel. Her delivery is perfection. The sheer beauty of her music reaches very deep inside me and yet simultaneously transports me far beyond myself. It is rather foolish to do what I've just done (and have never before felt compelled to do); put together a simple, inadequate slide show. Especially when we are blessed with the great and haunting footage of Eva's live performance at Blues Alley. But it is my humble, yet passionate thank you to Eva Cassidy for sharing her unforgettable music, art and spirit. Her voice is a conduit to something bigger, more profound and extraordinary than words can express. My heartfelt appreciation goes to Barbara and Hugh Cassidy for bringing Eva into our world and to Chris Biondo for believing in Eva and making it possible for us to still hear her. Imagine- Eva Cassidy Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today... Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will be as one Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, imagine all the people Sharing all the world... Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley
The most beautiful and touching voice and persona of Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley - January 2nd, 1996 I obviously own no rights to this music and I hope all revenue from any ads associated with this video go to Eva's family and their causes. I adore Eva and would have absolutely loved to sing a duet with her in person instead of with this video. Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold lyrics
Eva Cassidy - My visual interpretation of this beautiful song Fields of Gold and lyrics: You'll remember me when the west wind moves Among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold So she took her love for to gaze awhile Among the fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me will you be my love Among the fields of barley And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold Many years have passed since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down As you lie in fields of gold You'll remember me when the west wind moves Among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold My metal detecting website: www.metaaldetectie.eu

Eva Cassidy - What a Wonderful World
In 1993, Cassidy had a malignant mole removed from her back. Three years later, during a promotional event for the Live at Blues Alley album in July 1996, Cassidy noticed an ache in her hips, which she attributed to stiffness from painting murals while perched atop a stepladder. The pain persisted and a few weeks later, X-rays revealed that the melanoma had spread to her lungs and bones. Her doctors estimated she had three to five months to live. Cassidy opted for aggressive treatment, but her health deteriorated rapidly. In her final public performance in September 1996, at the Bayou, she closed the set with "What a Wonderful World" in front of an audience of friends, fans and family. She was subsequently admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital. Cassidy died at her family home in Bowie, November 2, 1996, at the age of 33. She was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Washington Area Music Association. In accordance with her wishes, Cassidy's body was cremated. Her ashes were scattered on the lake shores of St. Mary's River Watershed Park, a nature reserve near California, Maryland.(Wikipedia)

Lenses: Optar illumina T1.3 set
Stock: Kodak 7201, 7205 & 7218
Telecine & Color: Ursa Diamond (1080/24psf to drive) @ Cinelicious.tv
Music: Eva Cassidy
I bought a new s16mm camera and of course the first thing to do was a camera test. Instead of doing the usual "camera test" type of thing, I tried to do this one a little different and document some of life. I love shooting with this little camera and I was very pleased with the results. What you see here is a best light with strait cuts- I haven't made any adjustments outside telecine.
Many friends wanted to see footage from this test so I put together a little presentation of sorts and named it "600 feet".
I hope you enjoy this little bit of film!

Ampersands (and Eva Cassidy)
This is one of my first tries at a PhotoStory a year ago. I wrote the poem for one of my sons when he was three or four, but for the life of me I can't remember which--the youngest, Danny, just turned forty , or John, who will be fifty in a few weeks. I don't know a good song with John in it, but the poem is for both of them. The images are pans of a photo I took as part of a "blur" project. (For the record, the file is "as is" straight out of PhotoStory and saved with one of John L.'s custom profiles.) This present version is an attempt to correct the problems of reading one text and listening to another at the same time that commentators perceived.
