James Isaac Moore (January 11, 1924 – January 31, 1970), known as Slim Harpo, was an American blues musician, a leading exponent of the swamp blues style, and "one of the most commercially successful blues artists of his day". His most successful and influential recordings included "I'm a King Bee" (1957), "Rainin' In My Heart" (1961), and "Baby Scratch My Back" (1966) which reached no. 1 on the R&B chart and no.16 on the US pop chart. A master of the blues harmonica, his stage name was derived from the popular nickname for that instrument, the "harp".
James Moore was born in Lobdell, Louisiana, United States, the eldest child in his family. After his parents died he worked as a longshoreman and construction worker in New Orleans during the late 1930s and early 1940s. Influenced in style by Jimmy Reed, he began performing in Baton Rouge bars under the name Harmonica Slim, and also accompanied his brother-in-law Lightnin' Slim in live performances.
Scratch My Back is the eighth studio album (and fifteenth album overall) by the English musician Peter Gabriel, his first in eight years. It was released in February 2010. The album, recorded at Air Lyndhurst and Real World Studios during 2009, consists of cover versions of twelve songs by various artists, using only orchestra and voice. It is produced by Gabriel himself with Bob Ezrin.
The album generally received favourable reviews by music journalists and performed well on the album charts around the world, peaking at No. 1 in Belgium, No. 2 in Germany and Canada, and No. 3 in the Czech Republic, Italy and Switzerland. It also reached the top 5 in France and Sweden. In Gabriel's native United Kingdom it peaked at No. 12 on the UK Albums Chart on 21 February 2010, the week following its release. In the United States it peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200, No. 2 on the Independent Albums chart and No. 3 on the Rock Albums chart on 12 March 2010.
Scratch My Back was initially released on compact disc and as music download; a vinyl album edition was subsequently released in late March 2010.

Robert Pete Williams (Mar 14, 1914 – Dec 31, 1980) was an American Louisiana blues musician. His music characteristically employed unconventional structures and tunings, and his songs are often about the time he served in prison. His song "I've Grown So Ugly" has been covered by Captain Beefheart, on his album Safe as Milk (1967), and by The Black Keys, on Rubber Factory (2004). - Williams was born in Zachary, Louisiana, to a family of sharecroppers. He had no formal schooling, and spent his childhood picking cotton and cutting sugar cane. In 1928, he moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and worked in a lumberyard. At the age of 20, Williams fashioned a crude guitar by attaching five copper strings to a cigar box and soon after bought a cheap, mass-produced one. Williams was taught by Frank and...

Keb Darge is a Scottish DJ; Paul Weller is a British rock star. Both have a refined taste for Northern soul and other areas of R&B;, something that's keenly on display on their 2010 compilation Lost & Found: Real R 'n' B & Soul. Divided neatly between Darge's and Weller's picks, with the former responsible for the first half and the latter the second, Lost & Found sounds like the work of one compiler, one with a fondness for jump blues that complements the cool, uptown groove on display on the rest of the record. Scanning the track listing, it would seem that Big T. Tyler and Daddy Cleanhead wouldn't quite mesh with the '60s soul that comprises the bulk of the record, but Lost & Found is sequenced with the seamless grace of a great DJ, so this flows like a great party while kicking up a lot...

"I'm a King Bee" is a swamp blues song that has been performed and recorded by numerous blues and other artists. In 2008, Slim Harpo's "I'm a King Bee" received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award, which "honor[s] recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance". Written and first recorded by Slim Harpo, the song was released in 1957 as the B-side to his debut single, "I Got Love if You Want It", but went on to become better known than the A-side. It features a spare arrangement and instrumentation common to J. D. Miller's production approach for Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Excello Records. The song, with an irregular number of bars, uses the rhythm figure from "Rockin' and Rollin'" by Lil' Son Jackson. English rock band The Rolling Stones recorded "I'm a King Bee" for their 1964 deb...
